A lot of people don't understand that when you are super fair your skin has redness to it and when the foundation goes on it takes the red away and you look lighter. Your foundation matches your neck...you're good. Lol
exactly...I'm a darker pink on my face and neck (NW20) and pale yellow below the neck (NC10-15). I'm really tired of dealing with MAC make up artists who keep shoving me foundations that match my redness, instead of the skin color that's on 90% of my body.
I'm kind of similar, I'm super fair and yellow (n5 - nc10) with lots of redness on my face. My face is like 3 shades darker and more orange than my neck, and 4 shades darker than my chest. When I put on foundation to match my neck it looks like the wrong colour going on. Trust me guys, it's the right colour. My face is the thing that is the wrong colour.
it's just crazy that when I was in high school wet and wild was like .99 cents and we bought it because it was cheap. we thought it was basically junk but I couldn't afford loreal (which to me was high end lol) now wet and Wild are really good products!!

Returning mine I can notice every little line on my skin is a bit dry/combo normal but clear. I like L’Oréal Dewey, Maybelline Fit Me!, Cover Girl. I love WetnWild everything else but sadly not this foundations.
How do more beauty TH-camrs not follow your lead! Your channel is just so valuable to a consumer making decisions about what products they want to spend their money on. You're clearly a "student" of beauty - for lack of a better term. I appreciate all the leg work and research and documentation that you invest in every single thing you do! Other bigger channels would benefit from pulling up a chair and taking notes here, and I mean that in the best possible way. This channel is about so much more than a makeup tutorial on a certain look. I have been able to rule out products I learned here would likely not work on my skin - AND THAT IS A HUGE ASSET! Try this foundation with the wet n wild coverall primer underneath. I get creasing/cracking around my mouth and chin too, but when I use that primer, I easily get five more hours out of this foundation before it does that

pineapple lumps I have a similar skin tone to Taylor, whatever she chooses I am going to try! I have 22 foundations, not including color drops and pure white, and have yet to find any combo I consider my holy grail. I have been trying for about 25 years. :(

You shouldn't have to explain that you know your own foundation shade better than we do.. People need to keep the lighting and camera in mind before saying it doesn't match. Almost as annoying as having to remind people that the beauty blender is already wet before you use it.... common sense😂 Sorry, rant over. I could never be a TH-camr I'd go nuts!!
Jessaleigh You don't have to dampen the sponge first. I don't. I don't like it damp. When it's damp it just shears out your foundation :( You get fuller coverage with a lot less product with a dry sponge.In fact, it actually says this on the packaging of the Real Technique's sponge. Try it once, you might like it. I use it dry for my BB cream and wet for foundation. Different strokes for different folks 😉

Okay, so I never comment on videos (unless they're board game reviews because I am a giant nerd) but I just wanted to say how much I have appreciated all of your foundation reviews. All of your videos are great, but I find those especially helpful since I am older and still struggling with a bit of acne and constantly oily skin. The multiple check ins through the day and the close ups showing where the foundation cracks and breaks down... It's all just so, so helpful!
*What is your best, cheapest, full cystic acne covering foundation that isn't cakey, is dewy, and would recommend for dry skin? I have really bad cystic acne and dry skin, and every foundation I've tried has oxidized on me and turn salmon/orange, barely covered at all, clung to my dry patches, and looked so cakey and powdery and textured even though I didn't apply a powder afterwards. I don't have acne prone skin but extremely dry skin and I buy a new foundation Everysingle week, went through so many different powders, dewy setting sprays and nothing works. still cake looking skin. I also spend almost half an hour blending with s beauty blender. ugh it's so frustration I feel you on a spiritual level!

Hi Taylor I love your channel! You're hands down my favorite TH-camr! My question is -- do you ever get tired of wearing makeup, and go periods of time without it? I ask because I hate not being able to rub my eyes, lay down for a nap, rest my chin on my hand, etc. I love the way I look with makeup but hardly wear it for those reasons :(
Shannon R I feel you. I'm the same way. Most days I just like being able to rub my freshly washed hands all over my face for a good massage throughout the day and when I wear makeup that's obviously never an option
I stopped wearing foundation for those reasons. I still wear the rest of my makeup tho and I can rest my hand on my face etc and it makes me feel like I’m wearing way less makeup and my skin can breathe.

My son is autistic and has severe cystic acne. What do you recommend as far as face wash toner masks and stuff like that? High end or drug store I don't care. I don't mind spending a little money to help him out. Your skin is looking so great. Thank you for any help. Love you and your videos.
Patty osgood I have cystic acne in the past and I use Ole Hendriksen's 3 little wonders. You can find it in Sephora. It is quite pricey but you can start with their trial size just to test it out. The green bottle in the 3 little wonders kit works wonder to get rid of the acne. Alternatively, you can try clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide cream. That needs prescription from doctor. Clindamycin is an antibiotic that kills the acne bacteria, that helps clear existing acne.
I could see it being relevant because autistic people can have sensory issues, so depending on how they affect him he could need a product with no fragrance, a product that soaks in very quickly/doesn't leave any residue, etc. That said, every person on the spectrum has unique needs in regards to this, so it would be a good idea to specify what they are. I second going to a dermatologist but I caution you against letting the derm prescribe antibiotics as they can harm his gut flora, and also keep in mind that accutane can trigger depression (which people on the spectrum tend to already have).
I struggle with acne and just unperfect skin in general, I looove make yo and use foundation every single day and I recently found your channel, I'm sooo happy, I've been watching your foundation videos everyday cause I have a lot to catch up hahaha, I watch 3 or 4 videos everyday, even the old ones, thanks for working so hard 💕

I always add a little bit of argan oil (physicians formula sells some) on my dry spots before I apply foundation to keep it from bunching. Works pretty well and doesn't break out my sensitive skin.

Just got these products in the mail today and was so shocked at how beautiful this foundation is! They sent me their primer, contour pallet, setting spray, illuminating pallet and a nice angled brush for free so I did a full look with this line. I have very oily, combo skin with large pores and my skin looked flawless which is very hard to do on my skin! I haven't finished your video, so idk yet how you like it, but thank you for testing this! I am so stoked! My holy grails are Chanel, La Mer, Tarte Rainforest of the sea and Laura Mercier foundations so it's so awesome that I found such an affordable product! Can you please do another tutorial with the whole photophocus line and PLEASE?! Love you girl!
I am sooo oily and I love it! Doesn't make my skin oily at all. I also use the Maybelline matte and poreless foundation which is great for oily/combination skin. If you go to sephora, ask for a sample of the primer to try

Okay, so I never comment on videos (unless they're board game reviews because I am a giant nerd) but I just wanted to say how much I have appreciated all of your foundation reviews. All of your videos are great, but I find those especially helpful since I am older and still struggling with a bit of acne and constantly oily skin. The multiple check ins through the day and the close ups showing where the foundation cracks and breaks down... It's all just so, so helpful!
*What is your best, cheapest, full cystic acne covering foundation that isn't cakey, is dewy, and would recommend for dry skin? I have really bad cystic acne and dry skin, and every foundation I've tried has oxidized on me and turn salmon/orange, barely covered at all, clung to my dry patches, and looked so cakey and powdery and textured even though I didn't apply a powder afterwards. PLEASE HELP I AM DESPERATE FOR A SOLUTION!*
Nightmare Music Did you see her review on the Dermacol foundation, during #15DaysOfFoundation?! She loved the coverage of that one, said it was really affordable and it was a satin/dewy finish. It seems like it gives crazy good coverage and looks flawless. I think that one would probably work out quite well for you! :-)
Kayla Hebert I did see that video, but in a later one she said that the price was cranked up to about $60, and I've never seen it in stores and I'm very skeptical about online shopping

Nightmare Music I would love to know the answer to this question! I don't have acne prone skin but extremely dry skin and I buy a new foundation Everysingle week, went through so many different powders, dewy setting sprays and nothing works. still cake looking skin. I also spend almost half an hour blending with s beauty blender. ugh it's so frustration I feel you on a spiritual level!

I have dry skin and I love this foundation. I use a light facial oil before application and smooths out any dry patches. Works wonders

Hi Taylor I love your channel! You're hands down my favorite TH-camr! My question is -- do you ever get tired of wearing makeup, and go periods of time without it? I ask because I hate not being able to rub my eyes, lay down for a nap, rest my chin on my hand, etc. I love the way I look with makeup but hardly wear it for those reasons :(
Shannon R I feel you. I'm the same way. Most days I just like being able to rub my freshly washed hands all over my face for a good massage throughout the day and when I wear makeup that's obviously never an option
I stopped wearing foundation for those reasons. I still wear the rest of my makeup tho and I can rest my hand on my face etc and it makes me feel like I’m wearing way less makeup and my skin can breathe.

My son is autistic and has severe cystic acne. What do you recommend as far as face wash toner masks and stuff like that? High end or drug store I don't care. I don't mind spending a little money to help him out. Your skin is looking so great. Thank you for any help. Love you and your videos.
Patty osgood I have cystic acne in the past and I use Ole Hendriksen's 3 little wonders. You can find it in Sephora. It is quite pricey but you can start with their trial size just to test it out. The green bottle in the 3 little wonders kit works wonder to get rid of the acne. Alternatively, you can try clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide cream. That needs prescription from doctor. Clindamycin is an antibiotic that kills the acne bacteria, that helps clear existing acne.

I could see it being relevant because autistic people can have sensory issues, so depending on how they affect him he could need a product with no fragrance, a product that soaks in very quickly/doesn't leave any residue, etc. That said, every person on the spectrum has unique needs in regards to this, so it would be a good idea to specify what they are. I second going to a dermatologist but I caution you against letting the derm prescribe antibiotics as they can harm his gut flora, and also keep in mind that accutane can trigger depression (which people on the spectrum tend to already have).

I always add a little bit of argan oil (physicians formula sells some) on my dry spots before I apply foundation to keep it from bunching. Works pretty well and doesn't break out my sensitive skin.

Just got these products in the mail today and was so shocked at how beautiful this foundation is! They sent me their primer, contour pallet, setting spray, illuminating pallet and a nice angled brush for free so I did a full look with this line. I have very oily, combo skin with large pores and my skin looked flawless which is very hard to do on my skin! I haven't finished your video, so idk yet how you like it, but thank you for testing this! I am so stoked! My holy grails are Chanel, La Mer, Tarte Rainforest of the sea and Laura Mercier foundations so it's so awesome that I found such an affordable product! Can you please do another tutorial with the whole photophocus line and PLEASE?! Love you girl!

I am sooo oily and I love it! Doesn't make my skin oily at all. I also use the Maybelline matte and poreless foundation which is great for oily/combination skin. If you go to sephora, ask for a sample of the primer to try

why? does it melt that bad? still on the hunt for foundation for oily skin, that is thin, natural but has good coverage. estee lauder did last long but its incredibly thick on the skin
Cheese Curls Maybelline fit me matte and poreless is sorta like that for me BUT it is a light/medium coverage in my opinion.
