I did my bit by contributing as donation to BJS in Jalmitra page and also went to Shramadhaan. Hope it do help our villager who are working everyday to see there village drought. I am a very small person and am trying to do little bit for betterment of our villager. Will request all people all across our country to be part of this movement as every rupees, every drop and Every Shramadhaan counts to fight against drougt and make all villages across maharashtra and than India drought free. Being noble or being untouchable is NOT dependent on how much money one has in one's bank account, but what is in one own mind and heart. Good thoughts for others make one noble, whereas dirty thoughts make one untouchable. Many politicians in India are corrupted, and thus should be condemned as untouchable. India needs another revolution: Anti-caste revolution. Caste discrimination is filthy and sickening.
Truth Seeker: Here is my solution to deal with those fanatical/extremist groups, who are hiding under the umbrellas of religion to refuse to work together: 1. Government hold a meeting with all people of the village in front of press/TV. In this meeting, govern't ask each religious faction to present in writing why they refuse to cooperate with other religious groups. 2. Then give them an ultimatum, like 2 or 3 years to do this watershed management thing, together with forgiving them on land tax for three years as well, and also informing them of the severe consequences of losing their land and forced eviction if not set aside differences to work on watershed projects. 3. At the end of three years, and nothing have happened, then the government can simply ignore them. Do not give them water. Do not help them on anything. Or the government can also evict them off the village, confiscate the land and sell it at a discount price to other landless farmers who are willing to work with others to fight drought. Or divide up the entire village and merge/sell at discount prices each part of the village to the neighboring village. Decency or misery is up to them to choose now. Government should not let them just sit around and let drought destroy the village.
i think in villages this jaati paati is more prominent ..we live in cities and ive never asked any person his/her caste till now ..in fact i dont even know how many castes r there in maharashtra....i will tell u one incident..i went to a village for some work and i asked a man to give me some water and when he went to get water the other people told me not to drink water brought by him as he is "lower caste" and they told me how can i , being a brahmin ..drink from them (their surnames were patil ,kadam , pawar etc..i dont know their castes too) .... i drank the water and told them to drink it too ..but they refused ....

I judge people by their thoughts and deeds, not by their background or social status. For example, what attracted me to this drought fighting forum is the thoughts and deeds mr. Aamir Khan has taken, and I really have a lot respect for him for his compassion toward his people in India. I knew he is a big movie star in India. But for me, a big movie star or a beggar are no difference if he lives a selfish life. The fair game is: Do not do to others what you do not want others do to you. Human beings are bestowed with capability to think. But to think for oneself will make him/her unnoble while to think and have respect for others will make one worthwhile as a human being. The bottom line is you should show other bramins that you can drink water when invited by them , or share table with them when eating. Throw away those words: upper castes and lower castes. Why do those arrogant bramin men not learn from the Buddha?

J P there is a reason behind it. Because rainy season comes after summer season. If we won't work in summer.. we will not get the results in rainy season.
