I think Deftones could be for when in that special place, skin with skin of your lover, in a romantic yet eternal night. But at the other day some things happen, some things change. The next days you seem to lose all you had you loved.
You start hearing Chino in the background of your mind. Hate, pain, impotence, desilussion... you say goodbye to home. You start walking, you start drinking, you start losing yourself. Maybe you don't really know, allyou can know is khaos, is uncertainty, but, through all this lonely and depressing trip it's always Deftones all you haven't lost, stuck in your head. But... alcohol, drugs, sex...
One day you wake up. You wake up. You wake up. You wanna hold another bottle. But you can't. Tears start to flow, pain start to show. Sadness. You can't be a coward anymore. This is the pain you have been denying. This is the sentiments you have been ignoring. "Friends", women/men you had sex with last nights, everybody, everyone, everything... leaves. You are completely alone now. Completely alone. It's now that you can't deny it more than ever before... and it's now... that starting once again seems more worth than ever before.
You put on your clothes. Or maybe already had them on. You don't know. You don't know if you cleaned your teeth or took a shower in the last hours, if you are hungry, if you look bad or stink. You just have this thing stuck in your head.
You go outside. Yes, you start walking again. Suddenly faster, suddenly faster, suddenly running. You sweat, your heat. You shout. You cry... but you keep walking you keep running, you keep scaping. You reach the highest top near, and look below... "is this all I have been refusing to see? all this time?"
Sky starts to get dark. But you don't feel bad. You feel good... yes, you do; calm, hopeful, in harmony. Close your eyes and feel, no thinking, just feeling. And it is then and only then that you hear it again... calming guitar riffs, soft arpeggios, the keybord open chords... Chino's sweet voice. You are safe now.
Deftones is music is the best for driving on the road crossing state from state especially at night when there are less cars on the highway's and the stars are out 🖤

I'm Japanese and my parents moved us to the west while I was in grade school. I hated them for awhile and I hated the west and just wanted to go home.... Then I discovered this amazing band at 14 years old (14 years ago), the first thing I liked and learned to love about the west. They helped me through a very long and hard transition in my life, inspired my love of guitar playing, my passion for art and most importantly helped me find myself in this new western alien world and learn to call it home. They helped make the second 14 years of my life the best half of my life!

@@mattyriddelltarot3277 Thank you! However, my post does not say people in the west are bad. I had an amazing life in Japan. If there was a perfect life, I had it. Amazing loving relatives and great circle of friends, making for the best support network a girl could ask for. Everything was happiness, love etc. With no notice my parents ripped me away from all of that and dragged me to a foreign country, where I couldn't even speak to anyone, for several years, because did not speak English. I had the perfect environment to provide the best and most healthy upbringing, mentally, physically and emotionally. Taking all that away and putting me into a lonely cycle of school that I didn't understand, to lonely evenings at home, for several years, was not a good thing, or a mentally healthy thing. It leads to issues. Anxiety, depression, borderline PTSD. Nearly 2 decades later at 29 years old and being engaged now and my parents still apologize. In Japan there are American military kids going through the exact same thing I went through. In an alien world where they can't speak to anyone.
That was longer than expected, but I just want to give perspective. 😊

Ultimately I've been listening Deftones A LOT, tried to show them to my friends and they didn't like it. It's kind of sad having no one to share a night of only listening to Deftones, in the dark. I know in the future I will meet someone that loves them as much as I do.

Wow.... Spent many years on St. Croix - always on the water snd at the eastern tip was some land that belonged to the Kennedy’s but never Ised. We’d stay out there for days, skin dive for Conch and throw them on the fire and catch a few fish or any kind to eat. Those memories and that sky you speak of I’ve seen many many times from the top of the East Side’s (Christensted) highest peak. From that height you can see the wind on the water as it bends waves around the eastern edge. Too many incredible memories of sailing the BVI as well, surfing Tortola. This is all that comes to me still after all fo that. And those memories are from 1979 to 1985.... crystal clear. A short trip from NYC. Thanks for the prompt. Be well and enjoy every moment.

The first time I heard Rosemary I was brought to tears literally ..in the Webster's Dictionary sense of the word literally...not the modern everything is literal literally.. at the time I was on a personal journey in my life and I just started dating a woman who was a dragon on the Chinese calendar and now that we are apart I have had to set her free and it reminded me of this video during the relationship and after the relationship (storm) I know it's not the official video but I like that Sky sailing steampunk Ship video Whatever It Is... the point is, the song is one of my top 20 favorites of all time❤️❤️

This is quite possibly the greatest deftones Mix/compilation on TH-cam... The title of the video for instance, is practically the greatest tagline for them in the first place!... And the inclusion of beauty school/cherry waves/976-evil/KimDracula and Entombed. (which are in my opinion, amomg their most underrated and greatest songs they've produced) was an exceptional decision, and Don't get me started on the Eros tracks, Smile and Dallas!!!.... This playlist will be on repeat all the time, in any possible opportunity. Defgi you're among the "Elite"...

The Tones are my #1 absolute favorite band of ALL TIME, have been since I first heard them back in 96 when I saw them play with Korn. I was only 14 at the time but even at that young age I knew I was hearing something truly special. I've also never met a Deftones fan that I didn't love. So if you like the Tones, you'll always have a friend in me & I love you my brothers & sisters.

When you uploaded it six years ago, I was experiencing a very challenging situation in my life and I would listen to it consistently for comfort. It made me realize that I could move on and that I could start to be the person that I was again.
So many good and bad memories with this band...some songs I can't even listen to without time traveling backwards, very bitter sweet.
This band is absolutely amazing every song is just an out of body experience to me, I completely lose myself when I hear them it just itches that part of brain, my own personal movies playing in my mind. I love this mix!

Been listening to this mix for a few years now it never gets old.....only thing is that every single song brings up a memory of my wife of 11 years who’s no longer with me. Deftones are always able to hit every single possible feeling you have in a single song somehow....they are one of a kind always will be!!!
