Just purchased the junior 800mA selectable battery charger and maintainer, the 750 mA unit was no longer in stock... your video was very helpful as I watched it before going out to buy the unit...this unit works on both the Lead Acid or Lithium batteries. Plugged it in and presto the three LED light indicators came on...the unit knows the type of battery it’s attached to...Thanks again for your Video...🙌

Hi, I'm not a car guy. I have a 2017 Camaro RS(v6) that I store. Will this be an acceptable option to keep my battery charged thru the winter? Also, can it be connected to the nodes under the hood(and keep the battery connected) or do I need to remove and disconnect the battery in the trunk and hook it up directly? Thank you for your time and help.
so the wire thats attaches to the battery can stay on there year round even with the terminals to the motorcycle connected with them and that won't be a problem? Just wanna make sure before I put it on there with the battery also connected to the bike itself because I leave my bike on trickle charge since I dont live where there great year round riding conditions.
An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely necessary. Use of improper extension cord could result in a risk of fire and electric shock. If an extension cord must be used, make sure: a) That pins on plug of extension cord are the same number, size, and shape as those of plug on charger; b) That extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition; and c) That wire size is large enough for ac ampere rating of charger as specified: Length of cord in feet/AWG Size of Cord: 0-100ft/18 AWG, longer extension cords need to be 16 gauge.

My Junior appears to have fully charged ( has stayed on 12.9 for several hours) battery , but red charging light staying on. Unplugged and replugged and Green ( fully charged ) light came on for 10 seconds and then returned to red. What gives? Great Video BTW
This is from the DelTran Battery Tender Junior instruction manual: RED LIGHT FLASHING - The red light flashing indicates that the battery charger has AC power available and that the microprocessor is functioning properly. If the red light continues to flash, then either the battery voltage is too low (less than 3 volts) or the output alligator clips or ring terminals are not connected correctly. -RED LIGHT ON STEADY - Whenever the red light is on steady, a battery is connected properly and the charger is charging the battery. The red light will remain on until the charger completes the charging stage. -GREEN LIGHT FLASHING -When the green light is flashing, the battery is greater than 80% charged and may be removed from the charger and used if necessary. Whenever possible, leave the battery on charge until the green light is solid. -GREEN LIGHT ON STEADY -When the green light burns steady, the charge is complete and the battery can be returned to service if necessary. It can also stay connected to maintain the battery for an indefinite period of time Hopefully this helps and if you want to view the instruction manual, you can follow this link: www.batterytender.com/core/media/media.nl?id=494314&c=3854271&h=-qk3TTeclVEFGTWZliduPGi_-MQUjUukEQnc0q8atRjq8d5I

I bought this device the other day & connected via the ring terminal leads to my car battery. I don't drive much in the winter months so my car sits parked in my underground. My question to you is, can I leave it plugged in and forget about it? .....or do you suggest I check on it every now and again and unplug when the light is green? I have this same exact battery charger and I just bought it a year ago. And for some reason the red light will not turn green. I check the battery with my Multimeter And it's showing me that it's 12 to 13 V. According to the meter the battery is fully charged so if the battery is fully charged why isn't the light turning green on my battery tender charger?
Bryan Seijo If your car battery is already dead, it will take a long time to charge it. If your battery is already charged up then it’s enough to keep it charged up. We’ve used the Jr. for a several years with no issues on a ‘64 Impala.

Then I walked away for a hour. My questions is: The green light on my Battery Tender Jr. is flashing green. What does that indicate?
A green flashing light means the battery is greater than 80% charged and can be taken off the charger if needed. Whenever possible, leave the battery hooked up to the charger until the light is solid green. This is taken from the DelTran Battery Tender Junior Manual which you can find here: www.batterytender.com/core/media/media.nl?id=494314&c=3854271&h=-qk3TTeclVEFGTWZliduPGi_-MQUjUukEQnc0q8atRjq8d5I

Had one previously connected for 10 plus years ( obviously with different batteries) the new BT Jr.’s light went from red to flashing green but I am hearing a high pitched beeping sound? I don’t see anything in the manual or online that mentions this beeping sound. Is the unit defective or will the beeping stop when the light turns solid green?
My deltran did nit last a year. Sent it back. They have a 5 year warranty on most. Check yours. U will need receipt and stuff that came with it. Christine Dorfner, in charge of returns, is quite awful. I will never buy another Deltran.
Yes, this battery tender can stay plugged in while the RV is in storage. DelTran recommends checking on it at least once every couple of weeks if you can. Hope that helps!

I just hooked it up to my 250 cc scooter and the green light and red light flashed for a second and then stopped .. does this mean the battery is fully charged ? Great Video, but I read my bike manual and all it says is to contact the dealership, there no specific information about the battery, I own a Honda Rebel 500 ABS 2020. Do you know if this charger will fit mt needs ? Thanks in advance
No, these alligator clips are for connecting the tender to the motorcycle battery. One end of the alligator clips is a plug meant to plug into the tender, there are not 2 sets of alligator clips on each end like jumper cables.
I have this charger when charging there is more than one light the one in the middle is amber the small one to the left is solid green will the one iniddle turn green
It sounds like you have the DelTran Battery Tender Junior Selectable Charger if yours has more than one light. I bought the battery Tender Junior for my 12 volt automotive battery. Did I buy the correct product or is it just for 12 volt motorcycles, and ATV kind of batteries???
My first winter owning a bike. I have a fat bob 2013, can I just leave it connected to my bike all winter the light is green now and it says it's monitoring it?? So I can just leave it go until spring?
Can I charge my battery if it's outside of the motorcycle? I took it off because I live in a apartment and there's no electricity supply nearby . Thanks!
Can I use this for winter maintence for my 2012 A5 Volkswagen engine battery I don't drive the car in winter months? Car is outside in driveway and covered.
If you use this just for winter maintenance, it will work fine for your car. But if you're using this outside, you will want to consider the weather resistant charger. www.batterytender.com/weather-resistant-800
@@rmatvmc The charging portion will be plugged into an electrical socket inside the heated garage with only the charging cable on the exterior of the garage (car is parked 6 inches from the exterior of the garage) only the wire and the alligator clips will be in the weather.
The Tender Junior may work just fine as long as it's a 12V battery, but you'd be better off with a more powerful unit like the original DelTran Battery Tender. Something like this sounds perfect for your setup: www.batterytender.com/Battery-Tender-6V-12V-4A-Selectable-Lead-Acid-Lithium-Battery-ChargerBattery-Tender-6V-12V-4A-Select
@@rmatvmc I hooked up the Junior already and the red light has been on for two days... Shouldn't it eventually turn green? It's the biggest 12v deep cycle battery they had and i ran it down to 11.8 volts. I just want to make sure it's working properly.
Flashing red means a few things either you have bad connection to the battery, the fuse on the positive cable could be bad, or the battery has less than 3v of power which the charger needs to recognize the battery. I hope this helps.
This charger will recognize if the terminals are hooked up wrong and won't allow the battery to charge. So you should be good to connect them correctly and have your battery still charge.
The instructions for the junior indicate that it requires a 24 inch six gauge cable to be connected to the negative terminal and then the power tender Junior gets connected to that cable... you didn't mention anything about that in this video so what's up with that requirement?
Consider Purchasing the Junior 800 It’s an 800mA selectable battery charger and maintainer...comes with everything you need...works with Lead and Lithium batteries.....instructions are pretty straight forward...
I have a question, my battery tender junior 800 has charged my battery that is still connected to my car. It’s solid green which means it’s fully charged…however, there is a like a beeping noise that fades away and come and goes. Any idea what that means ?
There is nothing in the instructional manual for the Battery Tender Junior referring to any beeping noises. The sound could potentially be coming from the vehicle the charger is connected to and not the charger itself.
I have a 1978 Dodge Tradesman van. I do not drive it everyday. I was told to get a battery tender, so I got this one. I have a red top battery in her. Is this okay for that battery? (AGM) I also have a 2002 Honda van with platinum battery. Is this good for those? I have no idea. I bought 2 battery tender Jr's. I don't run these cars regularly.
NO! If you have an AGM battery, the Battery Tender Junior probably killed your battery. Fully charged AGM motorcycle battery is 12.9 to 13.1. The BT Junior outs out 14.22 volts, fine for a regular Lead Acid battery but will kill an AGM motorcycle battery.
Unfortunately, we do not have a video showing how to hook up this battery tender on a Ranger but can hopefully steer you in the right direction. Depending on the year and model of your Ranger, the battery should be located either under the hood on the right side or under the passenger seat. Once you find the battery you can connect the battery tender using the 2 alligator clips (1 red for positive terminal and 1 black for negative/ground) and plug it into the wall outlet and you'll be good to go. Below, will also be a link to the DelTran Battery Tender Junior instructions which may help. www.batterytender.com/core/media/media.nl?id=494314&c=3854271&h=edb187e98a7b2acaa35e
Once the battery is fully charged and light solid green is it normal for a buzzer or alarm to be constantly ringing. Does that mean it is still charging or what else
When the green light is flashing, the battery is greater than 80% charged and may be removed from the charger and used if necessary. Whenever possible, leave the battery on charge until the green light is solid.
Quick question, can you use the alligator clamps plugged on to the quickconnect adapter that I leave on the bike to boost the battery if it ever dies? Physically this should work, I just noticed that there are some fuses in there so don't know if they are made to handle the current needed to jump the battery. Thanks!
Thanks for your reply. My Hyundai battery was completely dead when we put the trickle charger on 72 hours ago and it is still on red, is this normal and approximately how long will it take to get to full charge.
After placing a new battery in my out door generator, I hooked up my Battery Tender Junior.....the light signals red green red green red green and so on. There is no indication on the unit as to what this means? Can you help me?
Does anyone knows how long it takes to charge a motorcycle battery from 0% to 80% or 100% ? I have it connected for three hours and the light is still red but a green light blink after every 30 seconds. I don’t how long it’s going to take to charge the battery fully. Couldn’t find details in the manual as well.
A lot of times when a battery gets completely discharged to 0% it will not be able properly charge again. It is possible your battery is not accepting the charge. But it sounds like your battery may be charging if the green light is flashing. Below is a link to the user manual where you can find directions on the status indicating lights on page 3: www.batterytender.com/site/batterytender/pdf/021-0123%20man.pdf
@@rmatvmc thanks for your reply. It’s now been 24hrs and still the same thing. Looks like it’s not charging the battery. I will have to attach it to my car and charge it.
@@rmatvmc it took 2 days to charge the battery but the LED light didn’t turn green. The green light was flashing after 6 seconds and then 20 seconds and on the next day It turned solid red and I thought it’s not working anymore but the battery charged. Although I still don’t know how much the battery is charge and what’s the current status.
I have the same Tender in the video here. I have my car battery charging inside my house it shows that it's charging but how long does it take to turn green? or is it really charging with a solid red light on
If the red light is on steady, it means the battery is connected properly and charging. Here is a link to the Battery Tender Junior manual that shows the status indicating light on page 3: www.batterytender.com/core/media/media.nl?id=494314&c=3854271&h=-qk3TTeclVEFGTWZliduPGi_-MQUjUukEQnc0q8atRjq8d5I
According to the instruction manual from Deltran: "RED LIGHT FLASHING - The red light flashing indicates that the battery charger has AC power available and that the microprocessor is functioning properly. If the red light continues to flash, then either the battery voltage is too low (less than 3 volts) or the output alligator clips or ring terminals are not connected correctly. " So make sure to double check all your connections and if the light keeps blinking red, the battery may be too low to charge and you'll want to get it tested to make sure it's still able to accept a charge. Hope that helps!
Reverse polarity. Explanation? Does it mean that if it happens that if the polls like positive, red, happen to get connected to the negative poll, black, would it still be ok?
That is correct. This charger will not charge the battery unless it is connected properly to the corresponding positive and negative terminals. Other chargers that don't have reverse polarity protection can cause harm to the charger and/or the battery if not connected correctly.
In section 15 of the manual there are instructions on how to connect the charger that will depend on what type of vehicle and where the battery is located. But, generally, you will connect the positive cable first and then the negative. Then disconnect them in reverse order (negative then positive).
@@rmatvmc Yeah, but is that with the charger connected to AC or not? Even the manual is unclear. From what I gathered, and from nothing blowing up last night: With clamps/battery out of vehicle - red on positive first, black on 24" 6ga cable second, then connect the clamp wiring connector to the charger connector, then plug in to AC.
It really depends on if the battery can accept a charge. If the battery is too low or has been run dead before, there's a good chance the battery wont last even if you can charge it.
1:13 I don’t know why you would say probably. The correct answer is definitely. If you have a lithium xxx battery you absolutely do not want to use the charger you are describing at 1:13. I have that exact same battery tender/charger and it’s great for my particular battery. I just don’t know why you would say probably because again, you absolutely cannot use this charger for a lithium battery. Red light actually means not charging. Solid green means float and flashing green means above 80%. Dude you really need to learn your products if you’re going to speak about it. No disrespect but you really need to learn how the thing works if you’re going to make a video.

Here is a link to the DelTran Battery Tender Junior Selectable Manual where you can find the status indicating light instructions on page 4: www.batterytender.com/core/media/media.nl?id=494415&c=3854271&h=--rotdsa_pdTVy-LNK8_6qCM6aS62h2n58h4zkPPaVOMdkeV
I bought the battery Tender Junior for my 12 volt automotive battery. Did I buy the correct product or is it just for 12 volt motorcycles, and ATV kind of batteries???
You can use the Junior on automotive batteries.
My first winter owning a bike. I have a fat bob 2013, can I just leave it connected to my bike all winter the light is green now and it says it's monitoring it?? So I can just leave it go until spring?
Yes .. Maybe check every couple days or so to make sure its still hooked up and light intermittently turns green to keep it charged.
Can I charge my battery if it's outside of the motorcycle? I took it off because I live in a apartment and there's no electricity supply nearby . Thanks!
Yes, you can unhook your battery and charge it just fine outside of the bike.
@@rmatvmc awesome! Thanks for the reply! I'll be ordering one.
I've got a adventure power maintainer 4000 12 volts Im not sure if it's working the green light comes on real dim what can I do
Can I use this for winter maintence for my 2012 A5 Volkswagen engine battery I don't drive the car in winter months? Car is outside in driveway and covered.
If you use this just for winter maintenance, it will work fine for your car. But if you're using this outside, you will want to consider the weather resistant charger.

@@rmatvmc The charging portion will be plugged into an electrical socket inside the heated garage with only the charging cable on the exterior of the garage (car is parked 6 inches from the exterior of the garage) only the wire and the alligator clips will be in the weather.
does this need to be plugged in the wall whole time it's charging something?
Yes, if it's not plugged your battery won't be charging....
Is the Junior ok for a deep cycle marine battery? It's a big battery but I only use it once and a while
The Tender Junior may work just fine as long as it's a 12V battery, but you'd be better off with a more powerful unit like the original DelTran Battery Tender.
My is constantly flashing red … is that float mode?
Flashing red means a few things either you have bad connection to the battery, the fuse on the positive cable could be bad, or the battery has less than 3v of power which the charger needs to recognize the battery. I hope this helps.
If you put the clips on the battery backwards by mistake for 8 hours will that kill the battery? I screwed up and had them reversed all night.
This charger will recognize if the terminals are hooked up wrong and won't allow the battery to charge. So you should be good to connect them correctly and have your battery still charge.
@@rmatvmcThanks for your reply!
the battery is not charging when i plug it into the outlet. the red light keep flashing. what am i dong wrong?
The instructions for the junior indicate that it requires a 24 inch six gauge cable to be connected to the negative terminal and then the power tender Junior gets connected to that cable... you didn't mention anything about that in this video so what's up with that requirement?
Consider Purchasing the Junior 800
It’s an 800mA selectable battery charger and maintainer...comes with everything you need...works with Lead and Lithium batteries.....instructions are pretty straight forward...
Though underrated, is this 12v 750mA tender compatible for charging a 12v 10amp motorcycle battery? Thanks.
Yes they are going to work for that battery.
@@rmatvmc And no potential damage to either battery or charger?
Thank you. 🙏
@@MSPA2006 It works on all batteries that are not lithium.
I appreciate your advice. 👌
So it ok to use to charge a car battery correct?

will this junior model charge a full size car battery 2017 car?
I have a battery 600 crank i can use that tender junior ???
Yes, you can use this on your battery.
Yes, this charger is good for lead-acid and AGM batteries and will work great for your application.

Can you charge a car with the jr? I bought the plus and was $25 more expensive
I just plugged mine into my bike. It's red then flashes green, back to red. Is this normal?
I have the battery tender
The red light keeps flashing
What does this mean?
How does this compares to MegaBoost?
Is there a video to show me HOW to hook it up to my Polaris Ranger? My husband died, and I do not know how to hook it up ... thank you.

Did this charger charge 12v 48am battery
Good info, Thanks!
Is it safe to start clk Mercedes Benz while it's hooked up and charging?
Once the battery is fully charged and light solid green is it normal for a buzzer or alarm to be constantly ringing. Does that mean it is still charging or what else
I assume it means it's done charging
Can you use this for your car?
This will maintain a car battery that's already charged but is not meant to charge a low car battery.
I have this charger..what does it mean when it keeps flashing green?
When the green light is flashing, the battery is greater than 80% charged and may be removed from the charger and used if necessary. Whenever possible, leave the battery on charge until the green light is solid.
@@rmatvmc thank you.
Quick question, can you use the alligator clamps plugged on to the quickconnect adapter that I leave on the bike to boost the battery if it ever dies? Physically this should work, I just noticed that there are some fuses in there so don't know if they are made to handle the current needed to jump the battery. Thanks!
What if its flashing red??
Will the Deltran Junior fully charge my Hyundai Tucson battery. After it is fully charged will it maintain the charge?
Yes, this unit will do both of those.
Can you help me?
if it's the same as the normal tender, red is charging, flashing green is 80%, and solid green is 100%
you have a problem with the battery tender, need to change a capacitor inside of the unit, check this th-cam.com/video/SveyfypxiY8/w-d-xo.html
AGM batteries this is also good for??
Correct, the DelTran Battery Tender and Charger Junior works with lead-acid, flooded or sealed maintenance free batteries (AGM and gel cell).
thank you
Mine has a blink green light on. After a few mins a plug-in. I’m using on a 2020 iron 883
So what does that mean when it’s blinking green?
Does anyone knows how long it takes to charge a motorcycle battery from 0% to 80% or 100% ?
I have it connected for three hours and the light is still red but a green light blink after every 30 seconds. I don’t how long it’s going to take to charge the battery fully. Couldn’t find details in the manual as well.
A lot of times when a battery gets completely discharged to 0% it will not be able properly charge again. It is possible your battery is not accepting the charge. But it sounds like your battery may be charging if the green light is flashing. Below is a link to the user manual where you can find directions on the status indicating lights on page 3:

@@rmatvmc thanks for your reply. It’s now been 24hrs and still the same thing. Looks like it’s not charging the battery. I will have to attach it to my car and charge it.
@@rmatvmc it took 2 days to charge the battery but the LED light didn’t turn green. Do alligator clips come with this
Yes, it comes with alligator clips and the ring terminals that you see in this video.
I have the same Tender in the video here. I have my car battery charging inside my house it shows that it's charging but how long does it take to turn green? or is it really charging with a solid red light on
what''s the reason if the light won't change to green from solid red even after 48 hours plugged for charging car?
If the red light is on steady, it means the battery is connected properly and charging. Here is a link to the Battery Tender Junior manual that shows the status indicating light on page 3: www.batterytender.com/core/media/media.nl?id=494314&c=3854271&h=-qk3TTeclVEFGTWZliduPGi_-MQUjUukEQnc0q8atRjq8d5I
It usually took less than 5hrs to green light , but this time it's been solid red for 2 whole days. Should I keep it plugged in? thanks for reply
What do it mean if its blinking red
According to the instruction manual from Deltran:
"RED LIGHT FLASHING - The red light flashing indicates that the
battery charger has AC power available and that the
microprocessor is functioning properly. If the red light continues to
flash, then either the battery voltage is too low (less than 3 volts) or
the output alligator clips or ring terminals are not connected
correctly. "
So make sure to double check all your connections and if the light keeps blinking red, the battery may be too low to charge and you'll want to get it tested to make sure it's still able to accept a charge.
Hope that helps!
can this be used on a Sea-Doo battery?

What happens if you use it on a lithium battery
It will cause a rip in the spacetime continuum.
It will ruin the battery from what the dealership mentioned. Get a lithium charger.
I was hoping for the order of connections, but no. Even the instructions that came with the unit aren't clear.
From what I gathered, and from nothing blowing up last night:
With clamps/battery out of vehicle - red on positive first, black on 24" 6ga cable second, then connect the clamp wiring connector to the charger connector, then plug in to AC.
You start can you start the vehicle with that attached
After you throw the acid in the battery and leave it to charge how long does it usually take to fully charge?
please look before throwing acid
Mac Swanton 😂😂
Nice.
Well will it charge a completely dead battery????????????????????????????????????????
