Lmao!! Ill never forget how Stinkor stunk up our entire home the day I opened it. My mother was SO mad. I can only imagine how many oblivious parents Stinkor pissed off. She hid it in a box in the basement for a month thinking the smell would go away. She eventually gave it back to me, but forbid me to take it out of my room to avoid me stinking up the living room furniture. Lmao!!!! Good memories.
That's hilarious!😆I imagine this was her reaction when she opened the box after a month: th-cam.com/video/IPEBgdGv2Tg/w-d-xo.html . It's beyond B.O. It's B.B.O.!
Never had He Man growing up but neighbor kid let you watch him play with his. (We all knew THAT kid) Always fun a fun visit to the 80s toy museum. Thank you.
I remember having all these figures when I was kid back in the late 80s then I slowly grew out of it and I put all my toys in a box and out to the attic they went. One day my mom had a garage sale and sold the whole box for $25 while I was in College 🤦🏽♂️
The motu to tmnt years were the best with boxed artwork... they actually had talented artist draw an paint amazing art for promoting to sell the figures an accessories
I had both a Landshark and a Killer WHALE, and Cobra usually used the Landshark, so that combination seems perfectly reasonable to me. Downright obligatory.
Land Shark would be a perfect Cobra vehicle. Would have been a cool episode having one circle Shipwreck, Duke and Airtight on a Killer Whale hovercraft parodying Jaws.
The first wave will always be the most special to me because it introduced the core characters. But from the fourth wave, I had Dragon Blaster Skeletor and Two-Bad. I used to play with Two-Bad by having He-Man trick them into fighting each other. Dragon Blaster Skeletor was a lot of fun because of the water-squirting feature, and the chain accessory saw a lot of action with war prisoners.
This entire video gives me crazy nostalgia waves of Sunday mornings watching wrestling and playing with He-man. Its freaky how visceral it is. Moduloc was a monstrous villain for ALL my action figure lines. He-man through Ninja Turtles. I absolutely LOVED that toy.
I remember getting He-Man figures for Christmas when my parents divorced in 85'. I don't think my mom really wanted me going anywhere with my dad for Christmas that year (not that he probably would've wanted to take me anyway)... but at least he DID drop by the house, and bring me the He-Man figures that he knew I wanted!! I'll never forget that. Thanks dad! 🙏
This was the first year I started losing interest in He-Man when I was a kid. I remember thinking that figures like Modulok and Mantenna didn't feel like MOTU to me. However, a lot of 1985's figures have grown on me over the years. I think Hordak, Grizzlor, Moss Man, and Stinkor were cool.
Everything about this screams: "The GOOD old days!" My favorite release of 85 would be that Snap-pack He-Man. Saw one at a local toy show and almost came to tears
I search everything MOTU from.collectors to youtubers etc. The creativity of mixing clips from the Filmation show to WWF literally spoke to my heart ♥. Thank you for doing these videos on the release dates.
Hi Micheal, Great video about The History of The Masters of The Universe 1985 Edition, keep them coming, Also your latest video was outstanding, Also My Favorite MOTU Heroic Warriors(From Moss Man To Thunder Punch He-Man, or from Thunder Punch He-Man To Syl-Klone, my favorite Evil Warriors(From Dragon Blaster Skeletor to Two Bad), my Favorite Villians the Evil Horde( From Grizzlor to Modluk or should I say From Hordak to Modluk), my favorite Playset The Evil Horde Fright Zone, my favorite and Best MOTU Vehicle is the Bashasaurus, my favorite and best Evil Warrior Vehicle is the Landshark, My favorite and best Evil Steed is Nightstalker, and My favorite and best evil warrior & Giant mechanical Spider is Spydor, Also Awesome video, Mike! Bob Squad seal of approval, I'm sure. Also Nice John Peter's reference btw😁. I mean spiders are the apex preadtors. Also Your working hard bro and I appreciate your dedication! I have some He-man toys but it sure was a great looking line. Did love but also like the show though. What a comprehensive and funny very funny vid. Thanks!👍👍Also I Always love these history lessons. Well done. Also i'm looking forward to 1986,1987 and if you do the overseas stuff! I would love to see you do She-Ra too! Also Another awesome informative video by Mr. Mercy. Thank you Micheal, Also Your MOTU retrospective is awesome. And yes, I like to see a She-Ra Retrospective one day. She is one of my favorite fictional aunts, the other 2 are Jerrica Benton/Jem and Elsa from Frozen. Also thanks for sharing Micheal all I can say is: keep up the good work stay safe out there in Canada have a goodnight, have a Happy Mother's Day and Nerdmaste.🙂💪🏋️🦸🟢👍🤓🇺🇲❤️ 11:32pm.
I just saw your power master optimus video from 6 years ago which led me to this video. My son has recently started liking transformers so I have been digging my old toys out of the attic. I found not only the transformers from my childhood but boxes of He-man figures as well. Thank you for making these videos.
YES! I would love to see you review the She-Ra Princess of Power toy line. I thought it was so interesting how Mattel decided to shift focus from MOTU to POP. My understanding is that Mattel was “upgrading” MOTU to live action, starting with the movie. The hope was that the live movies would carry the toy line. But that didn’t work out like they had hoped, the whole plan imploded, and both MOTU and POP went down the tubes.
I have the Origins thunderpunch He-Man, never had the original, but I was lucky enough to get the new one. Also got Moss Man origins last month when they went on clearance at "Wally World"
That was awesome! I love how you incorporated the wrestling. I can’t imagine the time you spent editing this masterpiece. Masterpiece of the TH-camverse.
Your MOTU retrospective is awesome. And yes, I like to see a She-Ra retrospective one day. She is one of my favorite fictional aunts, the other 2 are Jerrica Benton/Jem and Elsa from Frozen. Keep up the good work, good sir. 😁
Another great video! I loved the Horde. Stinkor, I always enjoyed the smell, never thought it stunk. I don’t remember it being too strong. And while I don’t remember Mossy smelling like pine his Classics figure does and it’s very strong! lol I’m a huge MOTU fan/collector and still have my complete set of loose figures(except for foreign releases). As a big Jaws fan too I appreciate that skit lol I only wish you’d mention unreleased items for the years at the end. Like the Evil Robot was shown for ‘85 in toy fair magazine back then but unfortunately never released. And the 200x toon was awesome!
Sy-clone was my very first He-Man figure and I always found his figure to be amazing for play. The spinning action was great for knocking down any other figure, MOTU or not! Very funny video, the wrestling references were great!
Great video - just subbed. Been getting my boys some reissues of the he-man figures, though I only had one when I was a kid! We’re more of a Transformers and GI Joe family, but nothing wrong with dabbling a bit in some of these other great iconic 80’s toys… and “Robit” for the win!
My ONLY memory of Landshark is that in the commercial, the kid says "(unintelligible) Lockjaw" and growing up I could never figure out what he was saying In the commercial. Just in the past week (probably why you got into my algorithm) I watched a marathon of MoTU 80s commercials until I saw it... AND STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE KID IS SAYING!!!
There was two versions of Too Bad. The one you had in the video with the flat back. There was also another with a rounded back like the standard figures had. We had both versions of the figure. I might even still have them. Would have to check.
That was very funny and informative. Looking forward to MOTU 1986 and 1987. I would also enjoy a She-Ra series. I know a fair amount about the She-Ra cartoon but not much about the toys. Thanks!
I know this phrase isn't from He-man, but "I have waited an eternity for this!!" Thank you so much for putting out amazing videos like this Michael!!!!
Thanks! Did you know about these: www.ringsidecollectibles.com/toy-wrestling-figures-road-warriors-b2b-004.html Same size as vintage He-Man figures. So tempted to get this set so they can flank Spikor.

@MichaelMercy thanks for getting back to me bud. Saved me a whole load of digging. I like the theory, especially with the way he's introduced in Filmation. Next Diorama I do he's joining Skeletor. Coincidentally there was some confusion on what team Stinkor was in. He's even pictured with the Horde on a promo poster.
What was YOUR favourite MOTU release in '85?
Stinkor! 😂🤣
Leech
The Horde!
Landshark! Great bad guy ride!
MossMan-and-Stinkor

Yo and he NEVER looses his stink, 10 years later and that mofo STILL smelled like the day I took him out of his package 😂
The stink will never wear off because its mixed right into the plastic
I never thought the smell was that bad. All they did was mix patchouli in with the plastic on his legs.
I really love how you play with the figures across toy lines. Just like us kids used to back in the day❤
Thanks! It's what they were made for after all.
I'm also a fan of the old school rasslin' references. Superstar Billy Graham and Ric Flair were my favorites as a kid. 🤘
Absolutely I would love to see a History of She-Ra video
Never had He Man growing up but neighbor kid let you watch him play with his. (We all knew THAT kid) Always fun a fun visit to the 80s toy museum. Thank you.
😆 Reminds me of the rich kid with the Nintendo from 8-Bit Christmas. Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video!
I knew a few of those kids, lol!
This was the peak year of MOTU for me. Loved it! Thanks MM!
Thanks!
Love all your videos brother. I'm 50 years old and I still collect retro 80's toys and video games. Thumbs UP all the time and shared. A++++
Thanks Hektor, glad you enjoyed it.
LOOKING FORWARD TO 1986 RELEASES, YOU DESERVE A YOU TUBE AWARD!!!🎉🎉

This franchise made the biggest impact on us kids and so many great memories
You brought me all of my nostalgia 😔 as a very young kid. Thank you for bringing me very good memories.
The motu to tmnt years were the best with boxed artwork... they actually had talented artist draw an paint amazing art for promoting to sell the figures an accessories
The Sy-Klone/Mr Perfect bit may be one of the finest things you've ever done.
Thanks Mathew! Mr. Perfect doesn't have much luck against spinning adversaries. 🌪

Stinkor was oddly popular with Hippies.

I was born in 1982, so the 1985 lineup was my introduction to MOTU. Grizzlor and and Moss Man were my favorite for the sensory aesthetic they brought.
Funny. I was at SummerSlam ‘90. I remember the crowd going insane at the Spectrum when Texas Tornado won the IC belt.
Thunder Punch was my favourite version of He-Man. So many great memories. To this day it still brings back the scent of freshly fired caps.
🤜⚡
Thunderpunch He-Man was one of the greatest toy gimmicks ever! Can you imagine a Thunder Punch Slaughter? 🤯
@@MichaelMercy 🤯

You should continue this series up until present day he-man
The cgi Netflix one is my favourite show and toy line
I have the Origins thunderpunch He-Man, never had the original, but I was lucky enough to get the new one. Also got Moss Man origins last month when they went on clearance at "Wally World"
Aww man, never have seen Moss Man in the wild. ...my Walmart stopped carrying MOTU completely at least a year ago! 😭
5:19 I have to say, you did that segment really good! It is extremely fun to watch the action on screen! lol.
Thank you!
@@MichaelMercy Lol reminds me at how I played with the Masters toys back in the 80s. Great stuff!
That was awesome! I love how you incorporated the wrestling. I can’t imagine the time you spent editing this masterpiece. Masterpiece of the TH-camverse.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Something about MOTU just says 'wrestling' to me. It took quite a while but so much fun to do.
This was a great review. I learned something new about my childhood toys
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
As a kid, I used to play wwe matches using motu figures . Each character had his own finisher like extendor had devastating chokslam.
I’m happy you finally did another year analysis luv these vids
Thanks Melissa, glad you enjoyed it. Have a great day!
That was simply marvelous!!!
Thanks Gazz! 😙👍
Thank you very much 😊. Love Motu 85. The Evil Horde just have so many memories for me.
Anticipating the 1986 edition which can't come soon enough!! 😊
Thanks! Need to give some of the other lines a turn but looking forward to MOTU '86.
Your MOTU retrospective is awesome. And yes, I like to see a She-Ra retrospective one day. She is one of my favorite fictional aunts, the other 2 are Jerrica Benton/Jem and Elsa from Frozen. Keep up the good work, good sir. 😁
Thanks! Another vote for the Princess of Power! I'd like to do a video on Jem as well. She's a Sunbow sister after all. 😉
@@MichaelMercy Can't wait for that one, too. She is truly, TRULY OUTRAGEOUS!! ❤❤❤

Thanks! Happy to see the Singing Landshark get his flowers on a national level!
@oldmanthesedays Thanks! Probably where John got the idea, seeing He-Man battle Spydor. "He-Man...Superman...same difference!" 😉
@bobhansenjokes I heard he just signed a huge record and energy drink deal! 👏👏

Very funny video, the wrestling references were great!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Sy-Clone's spinning gimmick is amazing! Surprised at how much speed he can build up.
That bone snap by two bad got me dying-o-laghter
My mom gave away my collection when I was 8 I was so mad lol

I love the bashasaurus is such a fun design, I never knew until recently that the silver boulder part can extend on it though!
Not by much but it's something.
@@MichaelMercy it’s handy for the origins figures as they sit a little higher then the vintage so gives them the clearance to get around them 👍😊
This with the sock, was the best part of video!!!hahaha!!!!!!

I was five when these came out and I reckon I had the majority of these figures. I still remember being really disappointed with Modulok.
I got both Dragon Blaster Skeletor, and Hordak one Christmas.
Congratulations for your channel! Please make the video about MOTU 1986 and 1987 edition...!

Officially Thunderpunch He-Man was never available in germany. And the origins version was only available via amazon for a real short period of time.
These videos keep getting better and better. Besides, you wove in the Road Warriors, so you got my attention.

Hey Michael I wanted to let you know my dad loves masters of the universe
Too soon for the Hawk dive. His Titantron fall haunts my thoughts to this day. Time for a sigh, and a cry! P.s. I’m actually quite jovial, and not in a trivial way. Mainly cause I don’t know how to play trivial pursuit.
Yes...Very good 👍 episode. Love this series. Can't wait to see Years 86 and 87. Princess of Power would be cool to see.
Thanks! Seems to be a lot of interest in She-Ra so I may give that a shot before doing 86.

Oh, I definitely want a history of She-Ra toy line. The She-Ra animated series was more interesting to me than the He-Man one.
Thunder Punch He-Man is 🐐! The gold Power Sword became little Jared's main Power Sword in Eternia
An amazing gimmick! Would have been cool to see other toy lines use it. Thunderpunch Optimus, Thunderpunch Macho, Thunderpunch Alf!
It's about time :)
I came for the toys, but I subbed for the wrestling references.
The Evil Horde are the coolest villains!
Roboto certainly seems to have been inspired by the vintage toy "Mr Machine".
Cool toys.
Really love these videos.
Thanks James!
This was a great year for MotU.
She-Ra is part of the MOTU lore, so she needs to be covered up too!
The WWF skits were the best parts! 😂
