Looks like they have changed it, on my set the ground is the first ring at the bottom. Fixed it by re-soldering the cable. Video was still handy as I wasn't aware these cables were available in with different connections I had assumed it was the converter but all working now. Time to fly!!
I just used the fatshark AV cable and a hdmi to avi converter from Amazon for $15 total. Also you can splice into the video cable with a spare VTX and a 2-3s pack and you can run it wirelessly to avoid the cumbersome cables on your head :)
+BadWallaby interesting. I don’t have one of those cables. But I wonder if that is why people were having problem with the output not looking quite right. It looks like the video and ground are backwards on that cable vs the one I used. I haven’t tried outputting it to another display.

We can use a spare vtx instead of plugging the rca cabel into a the google. Ohh and If I fly in a simulator I use freerider and freerider recharged. I do not got my googles yet, but as far as I saw in manual the proper jack pin order is (sleeve to tip) gnd,video,right,left, but for you the (sleeve to tip) video,gnd,right,left works. Very interesting. Edit: ctia style (video, gnd, right, left) does not work for me but "camcorder" style gnd, video, right, left is working fine
This pinout is not true for 3.5mm jack on EV100. Correct pinout is stated in manual, for connecting DVR. IT goes from bottom to top: Ground, Video, R audio, L audio.
Thanks, this video helped me get it working, however I'm using the official Eachine HDMI to RCA converter and I have to say there's really noticable delay, about 100ms I would estimate. The delay sadly makes simulating through the goggle untennable :(

Hi old comment I know but it seems like they have changed where the ground connection is, on mine it is the lowest ring. If you check your booklet that came with the goggles it will tell you the order it needs. In fact you only need to match the ground connection, it is the only connection common to each of the three leads. If the ground matches you can swap the leads until you get an image. Mine didn't match and so I cut and re-soldered the lead but I know not everyone is comfortable with that.
I use Velocidrone, but with Eachine Goggles Two (16:9 - 39 degree FOV). I find the EV100's FOV (4:3 - 29 degree FOV) is too small (even with the fatshark foam replacement). I find the Eachine Goggles Two is way more immersive, has full RX diversity, direct HDMI input (no mucking around with cables 3+ cables and converter boxes) and I could easily make it so I could use my glasses with it. In short, if you can see more you can fly better. btw, the Eachine Goggles Two are $125 at the moment, where the EV100's are $160.
+ArchmageAU I never got the Goggles Two. No DVR is a deal breaker for me. That is the main thing I didn’t originally like about the EV100s. But they solved that pretty fast. That is also why the EV800D is still my number 1 pick. Unless you can afford Aomways. I do expect the EV100s to go down again once they have regular stock.
I use a separate DVR (Eachine LCD5802D). This way someone else can look, in real time, on what I am seeing while at the field, and I have a separate non-headset to do focus and tuning work. (Very handy when doing bench work on a quad). You can add a DVR to the Goggles Two, but it is a little fiddly (requires soldering - Eachine ProDVR Pro DVR - www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2833244-How-To-Add-DVR-to-Eachine-Goggles-Two). I have a Eachine ProDVR Pro DVR, but have not done this yet as I have the LCD5802D.

However, today I went to use everything, and it seems I'm not getting the right color (things are showing up blue and green, when they should be red and yellow etc) Any reason why this could be happening? Droneracer101 when your looking in the googles and the small hole for lining up your ipd would you think it would be better making it bigger I'm thinking of making it bigger maybe 10mm bigger or more when I do the +2 or 4 optic lens mod and think it may resolve the v100 bad fov I maybe on to something good hopefully lol we can only try

To be honest i wouldn't even consider getting these goggles. The FOV is way to small and i think it'd be better to get a pair box goggles over these due to the fact that they'll be more immersive. It's amazing that no one bothered to mention this until kabab and joshua bardwell did.

But also, I don't seem to mind the FOV as much as some people. It depends on your eyes. I can focus so well on the EV100 goggles I don't even notice the black surrounding the screen. It the same as some people hate on box goggles because they make them dizzy. I used them for years and they are fine for me.
CarelessMedia do you use box goggles on a daily basis? I imagine it would be difficult to go from those to this style of goggle, if that is the case. I appreciate it the overall small size of the ev100's. I have never flown box goggles and might get a pair to take people on rides. Maybe they will change my opinion. I do wish the EV100'S came with a DVR built in , but don't mind spending another $20.00 or less for the external the Eachine has.

I purchase exactly what you linked, and I get video ish... but something is off.. maybe because I'm on a mac? your picture is perfect, mine is pure noise :( I saw the mouse move one time lol but if I can't find a solution then I totally wasted money that could've spent on some Aomway commanders lol

Check your cable and see if it matches the pinout in the manual. My first cable didn’t and didn’t work at all. I had to be very specific with the one I got, but I wouldn’t be shocked if the people on Amazon hadn’t swapped them out after all this time. For a couple of $ you could try the official Eachine cable. Is your audio jack working properly? When I plug in mine I hear just the static even with a feed on, also mu AV isn't working too just static when I plug in the eachine dvr pro

DroneRacer101 but you didn't have to turn on something or increase tje volume right? Also tried different devices using vga but doesn't work and if try to wiggle it I can see the picture but not very clear
I didn't do anything to make the audio work, just plugged in a headset. But I was converting from hdmi to RCA then to CVBS to plug into the headset. If you are trying to use VGA that won't include audio, and depending on your computer may require a hardware adapter. Not all VGA will output to true analog. You may need one of these. amzn.to/2xWUoNq But if you have it you are better off with HDMI.

Charlie Walason let me be clear. Not saying drone racer is wrong. I just am bad at wording things. I had to go through extra steps because I didn't buy the iPod cable. I bought the cheapest thing I could find. With this method... You have to rely on fifty cents an hour workers to solder correctly the goggles, converter, and cable. My video is there to show peeps how to fix things if it doesn't do right.

I love fpv freerider, its good enough. It taught me how to fly acro so thats why i like it so much

It's a nice video, I tried it but the image is not coming, what could be the reason? When I move the aux cable, the image seems to be coming.

the apple 4 pin jack is not wired correctly for the EV100 goggles (see correct pin out in the instruction booklet).

i only notice the black around the screen when not flying. Once the throttle is up I focus so much I no longer notice it.

Hi yes the cable pin out is correct I'm pretty sure as it came with an eacine box set VR-008 and it works on that set.
I don't have the VR-008 goggles, but I did try the cable that I used in my EV100s in my EV800D goggles and it it did not work in those.
