How Slim Jesus Ruined His Career in 1 Interview

- Slim Jesus still secures the spot as one of the most highest viewed interviews on @vladtv channel. Why is this? Well its because he was so controversial at the time he came out in 2014-2015. At this time, it wasn't as common as it is today for rappers to get famous off falsely repping a fake persona. Rappers like Tekashi 69, CJ, and Lil Mabu - have sorta made it norm to go viral for repping territories that aren't their's. In this video, we'll talk about the OG in this space, Slim Jesus, who ruined his career when the honesty came out.

People be hating him for being “fake” yet worship industry plants. 💀💀💀😂
Big facts
Same people love Drake and his "started from the bottom".
It's sad because people follow two things:
1. The media (articles,news) etc
2. What majority tell them to follow.
@@resonancetides7196Drake is not portrayed as a street gangster in any way
It's true but only because they are all fake and if they actually did that stuff once getting somewhere in the industry they can't do anything they use to it's all in the contracts basically what they can and can't do so label execs don't want their property out commiting crimes but they definitely love them to promote it in the music
Slim saying he’s not gangster, is more gangster and real than any of these clowns who fake it and claim it
Amen
Not just that but kept his mind by not signing that contract with diddy
And arsehole 😭😭
Perhaps but it’s irrelevant, because neither are gangster. Assuming all of us agree on the definitions of being a gangster in the first place, fairly certain we can all agree exploiting a violent lifestyle which ruins millions of lives all the time in order to prop yourself up as a rising talent and make money off it is not ever going to sit well with people from the actual lifestyle you rap about. So by admitting you don’t give it up how you claim in your raps, that’s not “gangster” it’s merely an admission that he’s willfully mocking the audience he needs as fans by talking about shit from their daily lives as though he’s experiencing it too. Sure many rappers do similar shit, so do many entertainers period. But thats never an excuse and it does not mean dude shouldn’t be called out. He should, and so should everyone like him.
So many of them now 🤣 Rick Ross is one the video didn’t mention
It’s crazy how almost every rapper lies in their music but it’s only a problem when someone comes clean about it.
Y’all keep thinking every street rapper is fake. The only people who truly believe that are fans who don’t know street politics. Even if the rapper is fake the street politics are real. The people these “ fake” rappers have to deal with are real. To succeed in that lane of hip hop you must be in some kinda way connected to the streets. Slim Jesus was about to be lunch and he knew it. He didn’t have enough street ties to continue that image world wide
No. They had a problem with it because he was a white dude from Middle America. Drill music isn't just rap but a way for gangsters to covertly communicate with each other. The drill community killed his career, not fans of rap, generally.
@@GrinchyGreen334Majority of them are fake. Majority of beef in the industry is fake, and or, played up for views. This isn't a argument, this is fact.
No one claims ALL of the rappers are fake, but the majority of them are.
Nah, you don't need to be from the streets to be famous in hip hop. You just can't rap about doing something you never did and get caught
@@GrinchyGreen334 tell me why "real" dudes would join a fake industry
@@TheTillmanSneakerReview It had nothing to do with race, GMEBE Bandz was a white drill rapper and he got respected among that culture because there was a sense of authenticity to him. People saw right thru Slim Jesus and it was making a mockery of drill music. Slim Jesus was about to be food with all that faking and he knew it. That’s one of the worst sub genres in hip hop to be faking in. Slim Jesus had no real street ties AT ALL. He wasn’t gonna make it moving thru these treacherous cities talking tough with no street backing. Y’all can keep thinking that you can just jump in that lane talking street shyt and nobody’s gonna try you
He absolutely did the right thing.
He could have lied and milked it, but he also would have potentially put himself in a dangerous situation over a life he wasn't really about.
I respect an artist who can acknowledge they're just making the music for entertainment and aren't about anything they say.
Yea. All these drill guys who are really about that life are sick losers. He did the right thing
Unfortunately for him, it became a race thing..21 savage also admitted that what he raps about is just music but he still remained relevant..Slim is portrayed like some white suburban kid tryna be gangsta no matter what he says..sad really.
@@WokeUpToSomeBullshit.when did 21 say that, 21 is from the hood in Atlanta. Hes been shot, has lost friends and family to the streets. He is in no way in the same boat as Slim Jesus, to even try to make the equivalent is insane
@@GrinchyGreen334 True...but 21 said he don't kill people and you've proved my point..21 is more relatable coz of his hardships in the black community...as long as slim is white most people won't care whether he grew up in the hood or not.

My main take away from this story is Slim was actually a pretty stand up guy that got punished for not wanting to be fake like most of the Industry is. I respect that.
And that you can admit your lying in your raps as long as your not white
Slim Jesus walked so Lil Mabu could RUN lmao.

Considering that he was playing an image, you really gotta respect his honesty for coming clean about it all.
Not really, being honest is the minimum a person can do. Just because most people lie, doesn’t make it impressive when someone tells the truth. Most people just suck
Hes white, gotta give him a pat on the back regardless huh
Unfortunately not a lot of people can meet that minimum.
@@brendolbreadwar2671 He saved himself the hassle of being in 69 or Cj's or Lil Pump's shoes. So your telling me he WOULDN'T RUIN his career in Lied instead in that interview (Silm Jesus) and went on to CONTINUE 'The Lie of Portraying A Gangsta?"... You'd like that More?
That's not why you watch Louaista's Videos. (if he's the one exonerating the facade of fake gangsta rappers who YOU KNOW YOURSELF (69/CJ/XAN/Pump/etc) should quit while they're ahead)
yes i agree. He actually saved himself doing that
Him burning the label contracts has got to be one of the best things he did. Even most authentic drill rapper wouldn’t have the balls to do that 😭
Right!? That was gangster as shit.
For anybody, rich, poor, famous, good, bad, it all goes back to having simple core values. like honesty, respect, love, etc. I really hope this can teach people why its always important to be honest.

Bro have you realized 69 never snitch or went to jail that industry drama is staged and faked. It's an illusion. If they really k1lled someone their ass would be in jail. Wake up it's all an illusion. How I know? I know people that know people
I don’t think the Vlad interview ruined his career. In fact, I think it actually helped it. In the aftermath of that interview, he just continued to blow up and become even more of a meme. The real reason why he fell off is because he just stopped making music, so everyone forgot about him.
If he continued to make music, he wouldn’t have been as big as he was during his peak, but he probably would’ve had maintained a consistent viewership.
If he didn’t admit to being an act, I think that would’ve been even worse for his career as it could’ve been quite dangerous and he could’ve had the same fate as the Island Boys, or even worse, 6IX9INE. But after the Vlad interview, I think people realized that he was just messing around and basically a meme rapper that you shouldn’t take seriously, making him more comparable to Lil Mabu these days.
Nothing but factz
Even better than Lil Mabu tbh, because Mabu is extremely privileged and went to a wealthy private school whereas slim jesus is just from some poor rust belt city in Ohio.
Vlad is a fed
idk but the fact that bro didn't cap and act like something he wasn't just seems better than some of these fake ass gangsters

It’s crazy cus a lot of the rappers be fake gangsters and will lie and play like they actually that away from the music. He told the truth. He deserve his props
Slim walked so *a lot* of these rappers could run! In regards to being fake and getting far with it, 69 and CJ are the first to come to mind. But also for rappers to be honest about not being certain things, like Rick Ross admitting to be a CO. Or like other rappers that came out and basically said “everything I rap about, I don’t do! I just rap about it! All these substances I rap about enjoying; not taking _any_ of them!” And people still continued to listen, enjoy and sadly follow their bad influence via music. So Slim genuinely deserves more credit - he changed the game!
Exactly! I listen to all types of music but my favorite is punk rock and heavy metal. People that listen to heavy metal don't think that the bands they listen to "Shout at the Devil" or ride the "Highway to Hell" literally, they know it's just a song and not a description of their lifestyle. I Love NWA, but they changed the face of rap music forever. Rap became Gangsta Rap, and now you can't find one artist or group that doesn't follow that narrative. Remember when RUN DMC rapped about going to college? The only group I can think of that didn't rap about robbing and killing after gangsta rap became the dominant narrative is A Tribe Called Quest. I respect the kid for coming out and saying he's not really a killer. I wish more rappers would abandon this ignorant shit. There's a million other things you could rap about, issues that affect the black community. Rap could be used to inspire young listeners to stand up and make positive changes, to be active and make their lives better. To me, rap music nowadays is the most depressing thing I see. Maybe some day it will get better, till then I'll stick with my Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.
I saw this dude once in high school and assumed he was just a regular kid, except rapping.
I had no idea people thought he was actually in a gang.
hes doing what the black community does without actually participating because hes smart.
Damn u everywhere
It was absolutely all about the fact he was a white rapper. If this dude was black it wouldn’t even be a story.
He didn't deserve this shit. If he wants to make music and share his passion with the world with other people who feel the same way, let him. it's pretty childish to try and take that from him. He's more honest and real than most rappers. The mic snatch was way out of line, have some respect for your fellow artist. Never heard a song from him but he did not deserve this
Slim Jesus was disrespect to street culture. It was a mockery to me. If he wants to make music then be authentic and if he’s not 100% authentic then at least be more closer to the person he really is. To many fans wanna be on the field. Fans should stay fans
@@GrinchyGreen334 definitely respect that view but then you'd need to keep the same energy with ALL the rappers who out here faking shi (which is basically all of them lol) otherwise its kinda hypocritical.

The reason why I respect Slim Jesus and why I disagree with the video title, "How Slim Jesus Ruined His Career in 1 Interview" is because he WAS HONEST enough in that he had the courage to be TRUTHFUL in that interview and save himself from pretending to be rich and dangerous whilst disguising TOXIC financial problems (like 95% of all rappers right now)
So your telling me he WOULDN'T RUIN his career if he went on to CONTINUE 'The Lie of Portraying A Gangsta?".
