- In this video, I’ll be unboxing the Bambu Lab AMS and walking you through how to set up multiple AMS units using the 4-in-1 PTFE adapter. From unboxing the parts to installing and connecting everything step by step, I’ll guide you through the process.
I’ll also share some tips on measuring and fitting the PTFE tubes, printing a custom bracket, and organizing your AMS setup. Watch as I test out the multi-AMS system with a fun Eevee print, and stay tuned for a quick Bambu Studio overview to make sure your printer detects everything correctly.
Got any questions or want to share some tips? Drop them in the comments, and I’ll try to answer them!

Definetly i will buy a second AMS using my 4-1 PTFE adapter, thanks to your video!
Glad I could help!
This is great, i hunted for ages trying to work out what connecting multiple AMS units looks like, thank you!
Thank you so much for the video! I have 2 P1S combos then purchased 2 additional ams. I purchased the 4in1 adapter since I saw on a bambu fb group its better to use but wasn't sure how to connect them. Thank you again this helped so much!
Great ! Does it work with AMS lite ?
Do you mean connecting AMS lite to P1S/X1C? Or mix AMS and AMS lite?
can you make a video with the just the adapter and external spool and how that works?
Thank you. Just saved me $50.
Glad I could help! Let me know if you have any questions.
This is a great idea! How is it holding up to the use since you installed it? Any issues?
No issue at all, I even added the 3rd one.
I love the poop, garbage collector in the back :)
I hate the wrap still on both ams but love the video and was wondering there are basically no downsides to this right?
I don’t think there’s any downside, unless the filament unload halfway and stay before entering the buffer/hub while changing filament with different AMS to save time. But I don’t think that’s the case, it will still unload the filament all the way then load from other AMS unit.
thanks for video
Most welcome
Great, I made it same way now.
One additional question: Which display do you use with your P1S?
here are the links

Hello. Thank you for the video. Which filament you are using? Producer?
petg
Just wondering why you installed the adapter before the buffer instead of after at the top like the Bambu guide? I’m trying to work out how to do 2x AMS + external from a dryer. Thank you.
Because it’s for multicolor printing. That’s why you need the buffer. If you use external spool, which is single color, then you don’t need the buffer. Therefore, I would suggest to use 2 splitters in your case for multi & external. Hope this makes sense to you.
Is possible to print with 16 different colors if you buy 4 AMSes?
Yes. All you need to do just connect all the AMS with the 6pins cables. I am currently running with 3 AMS, planning to get another one later next year.
in theory can you connect 4 ams's with 4-in-1 PTFE adapter just like the ams hub?
that’s correct
If you can do this, why is there an ams hub? Like whats spcial about it?
More money from consumer😄 to me it’s just a buffer with built in splitter.
Thanks
Hey man, i was looking into a 2nd ams and solidified that i wont be getting the 50 dollar hub, when this cheap splitter works. Thank you!
glad it helps! I’ll be posting more tips on Bambu lab printers, a sub will be much appreciated
@@jw3dforge Def got a sub from me!
whats the tool you used to cut the ptfe tube, anything special or just wire cutters?
I recommend using something like box cutter with razor sharp blade. I tried with regular cutter(scissor-like), the one that clamp together, it deformed the tube.
Where did you get screws for the printed adapter
You can use the screws from the external spool holder
Dont use cutters/sissors to cut your pfte. Use a sharp blade to cut it straight, otherwise you will get issues down the line
do you have a link to the printed shelf from on top of the printer please?
Sure. here is the link.

@@jw3dforge ah BLV, you a star, thanks
@@jw3dforge what material did you use for the shelf, just PLA?
@@markm75 PLA will work just fine.
my ptfe tubes keep popping out of that 4 in 1. Did you have that issue?
Make sure you cut the ptfe tube with a sharp blade and flat. No uneven edges.
try putting the adapter on the other side. like in the bambu manual
Can I use this Adapter without a second AMS?
You can use it for external spool.
so whats the difference between this and the ams hub?
This way saves you about $40-45 - no need for the hub
I believe the $50 one also replaces the single feeder on the back and actually helps feed filament. The $5 one looks like it is just a fancy splitter. I am pretty sure the $5 one was made more for spools of Filament that will not fit in the AMS.
@@kevincarter9555 Yes the $50 replaces the one on the back...for a fancier splitter than the $5 one... there's no added value the hub provides. The $5 one works for standard size filament. I believe your comment is incorrect on both talking points unless I'm missing some context.
The $5 one is intentionally made for for A1/mini
@@jw3dforge That's not the one this video is referencing.......
If Its that simple to do with a 5$ adapter why do they make the AMS hub? What are the downsides?
Well, looks like the hub is just for individual buffing.
The AMS Hub is used to expand the number of AMS connected to Bambu X1/P1 series printers from 1 AMS unit (4 channels) to a maximum of 4 AMS units (16 channels) to improve the refueling speed across your multiple AMS units and support the redundancy of a buffered signal.
@@edwardturner7689really sure ? The hub is exactly a buffer with a 4 splitter inside. They created the hub, then they have seen a lot of people to buy the a1 lite hub and created this 4 in 1 splitter avoiding to indicate that it could be placed before the buffer to create a hub with a splitter and a buffer. Infact the HUB is always out of stock just because I think they reduced the production. They make more money selling the HUB but honestly I think they know that in long time it will be replaced by this cheaper solution.
My understanding was they made the $5 adapter for filament that won't fit in the AMS. I am fairly new to this but that is what I read. I guess some CF Filament and few others won't fit in the AMS.
@@kevincarter9555this is the exact reason. I just bough one so I can print TPU while keeping my AMS connected.

yeah?
