But it's not even a penalty simulator. Retard fans might complain about F1 penalties, but at least they are fair and only given out for deserving breaches of the rules. GT Sport's penalty system is just broken. No penalty system is better than a rubbish one.

Some flaws in the GTSport penalty system, however it beats Forza at the minute haha
Jack Holden-Rhodes Nope, I’d rather deal with the rammers. Neither is ideal, but this penalty system is completely broken.
GT Sport punishes you for the kind of racing we should be able to get in Forza, which we can’t have because there is no penalty system to check rammers... It’s a lose-lose either way.
Play the simulation damage lobby for Sports Compacts in Forza, generally nice clean racing there, and if there is a rammer, they only get to do it once :)
Nah, although certainly not perfect, still way better than the circus in Forza lobbies.
LMP Riptide Don’t get me wrong: I like the idea of a penalty system and think Forza needs one badly in the next iteration of the game. But penalties in their current GT Sport form are broken; as the system is getting tweaked, it seems to be getting worse rather than better. But you are right, a fair and manageable penalty system would be far better than the circus of Forza 7 lobbies. It’s just that GT Sport’s penalty system is neither fair nor manageable in its current form.

Is there a way to move the lap timer and SLOW DOWN message higher up the screen so it's not directly above your car in chase cam??

With the current penalty system I think I won't be getting this game. Sucks too because I've always loved the GT games. Seems this system discourages racing.

think it will be changed soon, they are just trying to find the sweet spot with the penalty system right now, agreed tho its very unfair right now
Yeah, it's not a finalized system by any means and they're tweaking it nearly every patch. I think when they do find the sweet spot the results are going to be outstanding.
One critique I will make of Super GT is that he's not exactly in the optimal view to prevent bumping cars from behind. In fact the chase cam is easily the worst view for this.

Play with the camera from the car's roof makes it much easier to guide and avoid collisions.
After all those penalties , then to receive the disconnected prompt of death.....i would've smashed , amazed you kept on playing.💯✊

I was in a second race there with you, I'm Shrike005. In next race for me, I was second behind berz185__ (considering how ultrafast he is, that's huge for me) and game disconnected me in last lap. Last damn lap, the same issue you had.

I'm still trying to work out what the 3s of penalties were for during the last race.
Almost all my penalties have been me tailgating the person in front only for them to slam on the brakes for flatout corners or just non braking zones
Yup, really stupid to get a penalty for these things. Especially when you actually lose out from the collision and the other person gains!

Someone in a daily race a few days ago ended up with a penalty over 1 hour. I couldn't get a pic in time but it was ridiculous

The penalty system seems to equate a slight tap with viciously murdering someone straight into space. 5 seconds for something you can barely control seems a tad ridiculous.

The 4 second penalty came from the the guy in front of the guy you punted immediately getting punted and spun out by the guy you punted, so the game interpreted it as your fault.
I know literally 99.999% of the guys you raced against in this vid, but still waiting to meet you in the game!

There's no camera shake.
I could never play a racing game without that stiff camera, this is almost the main reason I dont like forza, you can set GT camera to be really stiff and "stick" to a car, this helps cornering since it is so precise.
exactly,why would you face forward to the previous direction of your car when you're taking corners?this is simulation,i am tired seeing comments (camera too stiff,camera that this ain't forza or need for speed) like this in simulation games tbh lol if you having some arguments about it,try to do what i've said above while driving a real car specially in a dense traffic :P pardon my "straight-forwardness"

Hello mr Steve Penalties Brown. I just want to let you know that I liked the video.
If you would hit people like that in the back in a real race your front bumper would most likely be ruined, so I believe the penalties indeed intend to deter the behaviour instead of the damage you would normally have.
It's not always fair, but without them it would definitely be worse.

The penalty system rly needs sorting out. I was BA at one point and ik it sounds like excuses but its not you get hit someone and you get the penalty. Im CD now not happy 😂

Okay, why do they not base penalties on time lost? IE if you rearend a car and he loses under half a second, you don’t get a penalty. If you knock him into the gravel, you get a crippling penalty. If you make him slide but he recovers, you get a small penalty. Etc.
I mean, rubbing is racing. And you can’t rub in GT sport.
I've had it with sport mode, no more races for me until they add sarthe circuit. Crazy noobs wrecking my D rating.
Not liking the penalty system. I have been punted off the track while in the lead, go down to 5-10th because of that and the other person gets no penalty which makes no sense. I'm having a nice close race with someone and I brush up against their car and get a 1-4 second penalty. Mind you they didn't wreck nor lost any time as they were still ahead of me.

Hey Steve how you doing these days? Noticed in a few videos that you seemed a tad down and frustrated while playing Forza 7, not sure if you're enjoying F7 anymore and if it's ALL GT Sport from now on. Have to say I'm still enjoying F7 more than GT Sport, purely because my skill level is so low haha. The penalty system in GT Sport seems overly excessive too, sorta ruins the game a bit. Hope to see you back on Forza 7 in not too long, in the meantime enjoy your racing on PS4 :D .... oh and buy God of War for the love of GOD, it's awesome!!!
