He only got extremely lucky buying those albums without actually knowing how to grade them because condition is EVERYTHING on vinyl. Unless it's some absurdly rare recording nothing below VG (Very Good) is worth much money.
I wouldn't say chum is screwing people, he reads people better and is more impulsive, plus people dont seem as reluctant with his deals as they do with Rick's deals..
Miss the man. He was straightforward and was more fair when it came to making deals. He also had jokes and plenty of wisdom to share around. Some people just don't appreciate what he brought to the show.
I love how Chum used to be butt of a lot of their jokes...... but he's actually been proving himself and valuing himself as an employee. He's a great learner!!

Some of the people are real customers and some of the people are brought in to show historic items with no intent to sell. If the item sells it's almost always a real customer. But what you see on screen is acted, yes. They operate, they do the research, they do everything for real off camera, and then they reenact the deal on camera with a script.

I have really enjoyed the show for years! Staged or not, I still really enjoy it. It actually helped me during bad times in my life. I really appreciate Rick, big Hoss, Chum and most of all, the old man! Reminds me of my Dad. Was down when I heard he passed.

Plus chum is friendlier and more agreeable when negotiating, Which isn't necessarily a good thing in business. That's why they say "it's nothing personal... It's just business." Because you can be a friendly guy outside the shop but you learn to be a hard--- when running the shop
