+Dan The Maker Man thanks man. That piece of tiger Maple actually came from somebody's trash pile in their front yard. One day I will make a real knife, not sure when though.
Mark Tyler yeah its really not I don't have an professional training in metal working (I'm a highschooler taking culinary classes) and I'm pretty good at it. My only advise is wear gloves when possible, metal shavings will NEVER come out from under your nails
DANGIT This is that thing Bob Clagett talks about all the time. I was literally making a wooden combat knife. And I have been working on it for a few weeks now.... so when it comes out just know I wasn't copying you lol
GREAT!! I just wish these all-wood knives were available in the market. Great replacement for the steel and plastic floating around. These could be disposable too!!
*HI EDGER!!!!* I love how Bobby made the main shape and put the whole thing in between the handle. That always makes for a sturdy knife. Some knives just glue the blade onto the handle. Those break so fast.
Just a tip from a fellow craftsman, for added edge retention add a few thin layers of epoxy over the edge allowing to harden each layer, then reshape and sharpen the edge. It will stay scary sharp for a long time
heyyyyyy man, first, I like your videos, keep it up! second, I see you are struggling a bit with the belt sander on the table. We hold it down here with a clamp attached to a chair. simple, but working. Just a tip:3
Beautiful work. The best part is, all done with Harbor Freight tools. Goes to show that quality work is in the hands of the artist, not the price of the tools.
I wish I had a shed or garage with all the tools I see and want for my personal domain. I would be happy, happy, happy. I guess the corner of my room will have to do and the park for those outdoor projects. U work with what u have and I’m not complaining cause I have a lot just a little more won’t hurt. There is always the next life...whoo hoo🙃 and ur knife is so very very cool 😎
No Locusts were harmed in the making of this film. Well, OK, maybe just one! Nice Knife Bobby. I’m going to attempt a similar project, a Letter Opener made of finest English Oak. Wish me luck👍👍
I really wanted to see you cut paper with the wooden knife, like open letters or open boxes or something, i really did not like the heavy metal iguana chameleon thing, that was weird, the bit at the end, it was uncomfortable
Bobby Duke Arts I wish you wouldn't have fed a live insect. Since you have control over your pet's diet I would hope you might kill the insect humanely yourself first, please?
(Victoria Kitten) lol what? Nature is nature man. What is he going to do? Read it a story while he gasses it with insecticide? Insects get eaten. That's how it is
TaperBlood Yeah wow. When you have control over it it's pretty cruel to just feed them live. Alot of people cut off the insect's head so it doesn't slowly get crushed to death. I think that's a pretty fair thing to ask, considering the owner's control of the situation. Just because it's nature doesn't mean it has to be cruel or painful. If you have control why wouldn't you ease the pain of the animal you bought to feed your pet? That insect is losing it's life to keep your pet alive. It shouldn't have to die slowly like that.
TaperBlood People who feed live mealworm to their pet quickly crush the head of the mealworm beforehand as a standard. The same for insects that are to be fed to things like praying mantises. It's a fairly standard practice. I'm not asking for something stupid, I'm just suggesting a method that's a little fairer on the insect that feels all that pain when it doesn't have to. When it shouldn't have to.
this is my first time watching one of your vids, and honestly its one of the first times i have genuinely like a vid, so from now on i a, subscribing, liking, and watching all of your ads till the end just to help you out.
Oh god Edgar turned his eye round backwards and he looked at the camera!! Well, at least Edgar can see if any thing is following him without turning around like in the movies when people just somehow know they’re being followed!
Putting some type of industrial strength metal or some other material on the edge of the blade would make it an actual cutting blade. Then you'd just have to make sure the wood was strong enough to not break. Just a thought lol, that knife you made is a beauty!👍
I have that same HF belt sander and am so glad to see someone else using it that way. I put mine in my vice to keep it in place, but my work still flies off it half a dozen times.
I absolutely love your content, you're commentary is so hilarious! I like to be quiet while watching videos but when it comes to you and occasional other awesome channels, I just burst out laughing. I also love crafting and stuff, not really carving but I do make a lot of miniatures out of clay. Keep up your amazing work! My second comment ever on TH-cam goes to you! BTW, If it wouldn't be too much work, could you make a tour of your workshop and make a video with all your pets? I really like animals and I think we all would love to see them all:) . I am also rather interested in how you organize all of your tools:) .
I randomly decided to make a wooden karambit. If I knew how to sew and work with leather, I'd make a sheath with it too (I also got a soldering/wood burning iron so I make little engravings with that)
Hey I’ve been watching your videos, and I just wanted to say I am really enjoying all of them, you have such creative ideas and you make me want to do more work with my hands, much love
Lucas González Try melting plastic soda bottle caps. They make a stiff plastic that is easily worked. Could be made into colourful letter opener. Eye and breathing safely equipment advised.
Hi, Edgar. Where are Allan and Poe? I couldn't resist Wouldn't it be easier to start with the planer? And I do apologize that the loose belt sander made me somewhat uncomfortable Very cool project and great results. How well does it cut? This could be interesting to try with kitchen knives too

Just a thought. You may want to clamp your belt-sander down when you use it like that. Saves a lot of headaches in the long run.
