Man! I love those grips! I thought it was an older Python when I first started watching. I just recently bought a 2021 Anaconda. I replaced the Hogue rubber grip with Altamont super walnut Python grips. I like yours a whole lot more. I'm going to rewatch your video to hear who the manufacturer is. I'll definitely get some if they are available and reasonably priced. Your Python looks absolutely perfect.
Treat yourself brother. Right now they have a $100 rebate on all Pythons. No respectable significant other can turn their nose up at a $100 rebate lol. Seriously though, I got mine simply because I had never had a Colt before. If this is the same for you, the phrase "It's just built different" immediately comes to mind.
1791 gunleather, make sure to read the instructions because they come extremely tight, only leather I use anymore. I bought the Smith L frame and my pythons all fit like a glove
I have both a Galco my late Father handed down to me and a 1927, Honestly the 1927 is more "finish friendly". It's very sturdy, and I believe cheaper than the galco. If you haven't already made a decision on a holster, that is the one I recommend you look at. The snap button has a plastic cover to protect from metal on metal contact.
I just got my 4" blued Python. I really like those grips which are on backorder BTW they don't seem to make a narrower grip with a undercut under the trigger as my palms a a good size however my fingers aren't long. So ill see what Tyler grips has to offer or ill have him custom make me a pair.
I am the proud owner of a 1990s original Python 4 inch in the DEEP Colt royal blue. I have the box and original grips and I put on a Hogue rosewood unigrip. Feels superb in my hands although I very rarely fire it - for obvious reasons.
@@JayMedinThanks. I used to own a 1970 manufactured Python. There are several changes that make them different. My gunsmith told me not many people can work on the vintage Pythons. That I should keep it as a safe queen. I like to shoot the guns I have. I sold it and made a nice profit and saved the cash. Then the blued Python came out this year and here it is. @@JayMedin I think mine was more expensive because I bought them right when they came out. Kind of think of it. I can't remember if it was $1599 or $1499. I'd have to check
It has the worst trigger of any revolver I've ever bought and I've bought a bunch of them. I doesn't compare in any way shape or form to the Pythons of the 70's as was mentioned. The problem is that this one that I got was horrible. I fired 6 shots of .38 Special out of mine and they were all over the place. Shot the center X out of a target at 25 yards with a 686 no dash so it wasn't me. I really think the rifling was not done correctly. In any case my local dealer took it back less $100.00 and I'm happy.
Idk...I owned a Colt Cobra classic (new model), while dry firing with snap caps, the internal part of the hammer snapped and locked the cylinder up...I sent it to be fixed and sold it when I got it back. Can't trust a weapon that will break...but I will say these new pythons are very interesting.
Same I have a 586 smith and a 19. And a 29 in 44 mag. Honestly you can’t go wrong with either wheel gun unless you’re willing to pay about 5k for a spor. Idk if I spelled the name correctly they are the Wilson combat from Germany. But one thing that the smith has over the colt is the fact smith has more offerings in blue than colt.
**Update** 05/04/2024 I took the Python out to the range last Wednesday and shot four boxes of .357 158gr SJHP ammo. I also took my S&W 586 No Dash. The Python was hard to control with the EOM thin grips. They were replaced with the Deer Hollow. While a little thicker than the OEM I don't believe they are as thick as the EOM grips of the original Pythons of the 50s through the 90s. I had to readjust my grip after each shot which is not good for a defensive situation. When I shot the same ammo in my 586 the larger target grips and trigger made it easier to control the recoil. I'll see about grips of the original Python or start using shooting gloves. Additionally, the narrow trigger with the deep serrations is rough on the fingers when shooting heavy magnum loads. I bought the Python to shoot .357 ammo and I don't want to switch to standard .38spl or even +P or +P+ ammo in an effort to do what thicker grips would do
Yeah I paid MSRP of $1599 for it. There are lots of places that are still selling them for MSRP just keep looking. Interestingly enough they're selling the 4-in stainless Python have less than MSRP
@@enricomandragona163 The stainless Python can be bought for less than MSRP. The blued Python will eventually be selling for less than MSRP after a few years.
I confuse that why “vent ribs” of barrel of colt python 4 inch have 3 pics? the original vent ribs of Colt python 4 inch only have 2 pics. Thus, the design has a negative look, not beautiful. And, I absolutely support the original look only, but not a transformed version of its look. On the other hands, I like an animate cartoon - “City Hunter”, the protagonist, who uses Colt Python Royal blue 4 inch always as his proprietary pistol, attracts many audiences to know the model of pistol. The key point is the Colt Python 4” with 2 pics of vent ribs only, no more. And, exactly 4 inches, not 4.25 inches. Also, it should abandon “the design of red dot sight”, in order to not ruin the original of beautiful look. This gun should be made with “Nickel polished” as its material, but not a “Stainless steel polished”. The important difference between the two is that stainless steel is often used at room temperature, while nickel alloy is often used at high temperatures. Of course, the better performance of nickel alloys will inevitably bring higher prices. Other than this reason, on the surface effect “Nickel polished” is more beautiful than “Stainless steel polished”. Finally, all people like Colt Python .357 royal blue 4 inches due to its tradition look of the design, not its power. Moreover, this gun is enough to defend family in the daily routine.

Love the python, it’s definitely my favorite now, the double action is the best I’ve ever felt on a Revolver
Folks i have a new blued six incher. It is beyond beautiful at least as nice as the vintage guns

Many great leather holsters made for this handgun from Galco, & they're affordable. I have been using them for over 30+years

Beautiful. Love the grips. Wish they kept the two vents.
3 is better than 2 !! Don't you think 💬🤔... It a vent!! Barrels get very hot 🔥
@enricomandragona163 it's tradition.
The 3 vents grew on me so I don't mind it. Too bad they didn't keep the stainless steel hammer. It added a nice accent to the gun.
I agree, I bet they though it detracted from the gold medallion. I would have bought it either way.
Rear sight sucks, Front sight is OK at best, but adding 3 ventilated ribs instead of the traditional 2 is weird. Sadly I'm still a fan.
