For me, the worst world is Arendele from KH3. It was tedious climbimg the mountain two times and falling down two times, collecting Olaf's snow pieces while listening to Donald and Goofy yapping all the time, "Let it Go" gets a free pass, but "Want to build a Snowman" gets muted by dialoge, and the villian Hans was "just" there with no voice.
I don’t think they ever use Wonderland, to its fullest potential. it was such a great first world in kingdom, hearts one and there’s so much they could’ve returned to do
“I don’t like sand. It’s coarse, rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere.” - The Kingdom Hearts fanbase when they visit Tatooine for the hundredth time, probably
Unless they don't and just make up a story for us in the background, like they did for basically every world in KH3. Just look at Toy Story, Monsters Inc., and Big Hero 6, they all took place after their respective movies.
King of Thieves could open up the world of Agrabah - the movie was very diverse with its locations and the floating Turtle Island holds strong in my memory ❤
@@willropa4226 Which is better honestly. The best Disney Worlds have always been the ones that have very little to do with the plot of some movie. Anyone with any interest in those Worlds has already seen the movies they're based on.
@@GoeTeeks Someday Kingdom Hearts should base the Agrabah World on the TV show as a whole. That would have to wait until they start doing truly expansive worlds though.
For me, the worst world was Arendelle. While visually, it is stunning and I kinda like the world background music it has, story wise, it’s so boring and awful. We barely interact with the characters, spent most of the time running through a labyrinth, gathering parts on Olaf, and every time we get to the top at Elsa’s palace, we get thrown off the mountain and have to climb back up. It’s so boring and uneventful, you could skip this world and it would’ve played out exactly the same way. I’m not too big on places like Atlantica or Deep Jungle, but at least with those worlds, they give you interactions with the movie cast. And have more of an involvement to the story.
It’s wild cause it was planned to be something really cool. Elsa was supposed to actually be a villain. That’s what the random ice dungeon was for. But Disney in they’re all controlling macro management, scraped it and came up with the snooze fest in the final game.
You didn’t like the world because you kept backtracking? This must mean you hate most of the Disney worlds in the other games right? Wrong. I’ve never seen the movie, don’t care about the story, and I think it was some of the best level design in the series.
@@Erikthedood Even if Elsa wasn't supposed to be evil, there's too much inconstancy with how Arendelle is designed. Larxene has powers she shouldn't have, the maze doesn;t lead to the boss like it feels like it should, and you barely interact with the story. You run up and down a frustrating mountain level, to basically watch pieces of Frozen. Heck, this was the closest to following the no meddling rule Sora got. You're more involved with the little mermaid story in Kh2. Which is saying something. With how much money Frozen was making Disney at the time, I wouldn't put it past execs/shareholders forcing last minute changes. Wouldn't want to hurt the image of their newest money making machine.
Aladdin's "Hi Sora" in KH2 lives in my head rent free. Every other one of the SDG friends we meet on their worlds are overjoyed to see them again (beast being an exception cause he was angsty at the time). Meanwhile Aladdin blitz's past him like "long time no see, kinda busy tho" and I think it's sweet and funny.
It’s so funny. Like sora is the guy you would see once in a blue moon. But Aladdin’s just “Whats good? gotta blast!” Easily one of my favourite gags in the series
It actually happened in KH3 with Jack Sparrow. When the trio arrives in davey jones locker and have to chase Jack's ship. Jack passes them by and says "hail sora", with the exact same running animation used as alladin. I think it's a very clear easter egg.
the fact that for Agrabah we didn't get a 'King of Thieves' adaptation in KH3 still irks me to this day; you know where we could meet Aladdin's dad, have the hand of Midas be a McGuffin that one of the 13 Darkness could've seeked out as a way to turn Sora, other things...
Yo! Thank you SO MUCH for the shout-out! I’ve spent so many years chronicling those release dates between Chi, JP UX and Global UX release dates. Not to mention the order for all the cutscenes. With all the delays we had for updates and content in Global, I took it upon myself to chronicle everything. It’s also wild how long it took them to wrap up the initial FIND ABU story in Chi, lasting up until the endgame of it before we finally had a resolution.
One thing I really clamored for in KH3 was to have the story of the 40 thieves. It's my favorite Aladdin movie out of the 3 and I think it could've been a great way to make up for all of the filler missions in union cross.
Honestly I would love that. I had Aladdin and the 40 Thieves on VHS as a little kid and watched it all the time. I didn't see the first one till I was like 12 after playing KH haha. The big Midas hand turtle room would be a cool area
Deep Jungle in Kingdom Hearts 1, I remember being stuck there for hours and the platforming was a pain. I’m glad this has never returned in any future games lmao. Also that Little Mermaid one too
I've come to actually love this world. It's the only appearance in the series but I just got use to the jank and have played it enough to know what I'm doing
How in the world did you get STUCK though? Skill issue for real. Only possible scenario I can think of is the dumb magic fruit battle thing, which admittedly, is pretty lame.
Conceptually, I hate to say it but Neverland from the original KH has to be one of the worst. It's cool to explore Hook's ship I guess, but it all becomes cramped and simultaneously pointless once you unlock the ability to fly. Plus, it's a world called Neverland where you never actually step foot in Neverland itself. It makes no sense. Where exactly are we meant to be? Hook said he can take Riku to Hollow Bastion in his ship. So is the ship just floating along the lanes between like Monstro? But then where does the ocean and London/Big Ben fit in? Trying to understand it makes my head hurt much more than the time travel stuff in DDD.
At least they had a second go at it in bbs, we all know if they remade kh1 it would be substantially better than when it first released but that was gaming back then
@@aleksanderzaremba9695 Only if you prefer the completely linear, void of interesting content design of areas like in KH2 and KH3. They significantly dumbed down the world design for the normies in later installments and the series suffered as a result. It is what it is. Thanks Nomura.
@@RedFloyd469 Speak for yourself, the level design was way too tedious compared to the later games it doesn’t help that you have little to no navigation unless you want to go on the internet, find a guide book or literally go in circles for hours until you find the place you’re supposed to be.
The only things I liked about the Agrabah world in KHUX: 1. Fighting Jafar in his Cobra form 2. Xehanort and gang with the carpet in Dark Road (that, and their interaction with Jafar is interesting)
I feel like KHUX ruined Agrabah for so many of us. The freaking filler was probably the most annoying when it was Agrabah. The desert parts were always pretty bland and there'd usually be a few per stage.
Atlantica in KH2, I didn't need to hear Donald Goofy and Sora singing in a mini game that I couldn't skip and had to go back to over and over again the only good part being hearing the voice actors for both Ursala and Ariel
Nah that just sounds like a skill issue to me. I played it recently. Never had to redo a singing level, and I'm no pro. Unless you're going for the 100% minigame challenge, in which case uuuh, yeah good luck with that shit, but that trophy is in and of itself a boring waste of time, so I guess it's fitting.
I raise an obscure one, Reverse:Rebirth wonderland. Due to Riku having fixed decks per floor you can't get a better deck and oh god this floor gives you a terrible deck. You have nine attack cards, and no cards above 5. Meaning (as riku is reliant on card breaks to do well) you can only use Riku's main mechanic against half of the cards. To make it worse a generic enemy in this world plays six cards, forcing you to either use sleights in normal combat with only nine cards, or just sit there while creeper plants keep attacking you. And this is late game, this could be your final disney world, that does mean you should be able to spam matial waking and feeble darkness rooms, but this is also one of Riku's largest floors. And then theres the boss. Trickmaster has hard to dodge attacks that cover the whole room and its lowest card is a four. So you can card break it, once in a while because it also has up to an eight. Your enemy card this floor is also terrible, being large body, blocking damage from the front sounds good, but it only lasts one reload (which is only three combos in this world), doesn't block magic, doesn't block aoe doesn't block any of the boss's attacks, and doesn't help you do anything you want to do. And to reiterate you cannot get better cards on this floor, you are stuck with nine shitty cards, and a worse enemy card than any of the boss cards you have. It's just an awful part of an already not great game.
I mean I dont mind chain off memories at all. I enjoy it for what it is. But I do always skip over wonderland with riku as fast as possible. Just skipping most enemies there since I do hate that part off the game.
@@jeltevl8868 I just don't like com's combat. If you know what you're doing it tends to become you wailing on the boss while they can do nothing, and sometimes extended periods of the boss using sleights that could easily wipe your health bar and you can do nothing about it because you can't dodge and shuffle at the same time and if you take a single hit you'll be unable to play the zero card you were looking for.
I never got to finish Union x in its entirety before the game was turned in all cutscenes, but I do remember the agonising number of times I was sent back to Agrabah to do the most menial tasks. It was really exhausting
Ursula in KH1 was absolutely atrocious, but that might've been because I was underleveled, but it didn't help that it had horrible controls and was confusing where you needed to go.
@@CadenBright-qj5jd oh,when i even play that getting through the under water caves where a pain to get threw and hard to attack the heartless with the very bad controls.
I just beat Ursula a couple days ago and absolutely, it's not very clear the best way you're supposed to attack her and once she enters her second phase all you can do I get at best two hits in before she does her lightning attack, I didn't have much problem with Atlantica as a whole but, I don't blame anybody for choosing the superior Halloween town
Hercules might as well be every Keyblade wielder’s best friend at this point. KH1, KH2, KH3, Chain of Memories/Re, 358/2 Days, Birth by Sleep, Coded/Re, Union X
As a union cross fan, I too agree that Agrabah was one of the most annoying parts of the game. At least you got enough materials to level up three wishes a bunch lol
I'm just gonna say it, I've NEVER liked the Keyblade Graveyard. It's an empty barren wasteland with nothing interesting to do except boss fights. Literally the only thing you can do there in BBS is get sucked in by a few random tornados (annoying) and do an Unversed challenge. And while I really enjoyed the boss gauntlet in KH3 and the Union X scene and the Nort Court fight, none of those were really part of the world itself. The labyrinth was a complete no-brainer excuse for a puzzle and frankly kind of a silly fluff addition to break up what should have just been a big battle royale in the middle of the wasteland. There are other worlds that I think have been weaker (KH3 Hundred Acre Wood) or more frustrating (KH1 Atlantica, KH3 Arrendelle, etc.), but given the series' long roster of exceptional endgame worlds (Hollow Bastion, End of the World, TWTNW, Scala ad Caelum), Keyblade Graveyard has always stood out to me as the black sheep of the bunch, and I would be ecstatic if I never ever saw it again.
Not to metion, in BBS it's super difficult to level up, and the keyblade graveyard it's the only world level 9, but the tornados suck and take a long time to clear. You have to finish the game, played aqua last episode to increase the level of all the world. So Keyblade Graveyard looks very cool in the cinematic and everything involved, but the worst last world in the series.
It confuses me seeing scala up there. I’d place it with “the final world” in forgettable for me. Granted a huge part in that is the mobile games simply failed to keep my attention thru the gatcha. So I have no attachment to begin with. But KH3 gave us nothing to explore and even the DLC expanded it but it still felt hollow to me. That could also just be my issue with the DLC as a whole and the kairi hunt but I wasn’t a fan of scala at all, it felt like a wasted opportunity to me. Maybe that will change when I finally get caught up in Union lore but it’s just a neat looking place with a scavenger hunt and a boss fight. KB graveyard is a close second but I do find it a more fitting place for a finally. Even if lacklustre. That shot of the thousand of blades in the ground is dope.
@@edgarmartin5474 Or you could just do all the battles in the Mirage Arena a few times. I go through each one like 5 times a character the moment it's unlocked and crush any of the story stuff.
Honestly timeless river for me. You think the fire + cars the worst you're going to get but then the game hits you with another tedious minigame in the form of the goofy construction minigame where you're constantly jumping
I was not aware of this. That Kingdom Hearts fans hated Agrabah because of the mobile game. I played the mobile game for a little bit, but it got tedious, so I stopped before finding out the many Agrabah levels. So I just went online on the Kingdom Hearts wikis and watched the cutscenes from the game on TH-cam to understand the story. The Kingdom Hearts worlds that do annoy me would be Wonderland and Monstro in the first Kingdom Hearts game since the paths were confusing sometimes.
For me it’s the City of Bells from Dream Drop. Being based off of Paris, I remember the world being particularly barren and lifeless. Plus not being able to fight Frollo as a boss, a la something like Clayton/Stealth Sneak was a crime.
Favorite KH worlds: KH1: Nightmare Before Christmas KH2: Tie between Lion King and Nightmare KH3: Tangled Least Favorite KH worlds: KH1: Monstro KH2: Tron KH3: Arendelle
I remember feeling my eye twitch when I’d have to play through Agrabah missions in Union Cross. I think my most hated KH world of all time tho is Arendelle. Everytime I play through KH3 and get to Arendelle I roll my eyes it just feels like such a chore to get through that world. It looks amazing visually cuz of course it does but it’s not fun to play through. Sometimes I forget it’s even a world based off a Disney property until I see Sora talking to one or the frozen characters for five seconds before immediately getting yeeted off the mountain for the 3rd time 💀
2:59 The Kingdom Hearts X Jumpchain jump has a drawback where you get extra points for having to deal with going to Agrabah way more than normal. Like 90% of the time is spent there if you choose the drawback.
Based on what? Pride lands and and Atlantica is objectively worse because you lose access to half your kit and get to deal with some of the worst boss designs you'll experience in the entire series. Ursula with her magic spam, and earthshaker spamming his desperation move. And this is somehow worse than that? I'd rather do this any day of the week compared to that
Gonna be honest, didn't get far enough into union to hate any of the worlds. I didn't connect with the game play like I hoped I would, so I dropped it. At the time, I also wasn't into the lore like I am now. That said, the would I hate the most is KH2's Atlantica. It felt so pointless to me. It even gated you from rushing through it unless you had certain magic unlocked. It was probably only there because an exec was mad they didn't do the proper Little mermaid story in the first game.
I think this speaks more to the "gameplay" of mobile gacha games than anything. Nobody actually wants to play Union, they just want the cutscenes. It's not like missions offered new mechanics and gameplay every time, Agrabah just highlights that "Hey, you are just tapping your screen for RNG over and over" and it's easier to notice without the lore sprinkled in. Personally I hate Atlantica in KH2. KH1 Atlantica is fine, a lot of the clunkiness comes from the lack of combos working like you expect them to, and simply swapping out to a more Magic oriented Keychain and focusing instead on spellcasting for that world makes it a much easier time. There's a reason so many chests require spells in that world. KH2 atlantica isn't even good at what it tries to do. It's a really awkward and slow "rhythm" game that isn't even always on beat. The first 2 or 3 missions are really easy to get the timing right with, and then any of the missions (including the world's boss) with a "tap button repeatedly" portion are somehow even easier, even if you have bad timing. Many defend it saying it's "optional" but it's only optional for the main story; you still will need to do all of the songs to get Blizzaga and the Ultima Weapon.
This. I refuse to play these. I tried Union X got maybe 180 levels in and felt like I was seeing nothing new and dropped it. I’ve been burnt out in gatcha for years already but wanted to give KH one a shot. It’s just so slow and boring to get thru. I won’t even bother with missing link and I didn’t dark road. I’m gonna have to give some lore collections to get caught up because at it is characters from them have shown up in 3 and will for 4 so I got to get caught up. I know ventus is somehow involved. But I don’t wanna spend by jingles to roll for trinkets to fight my goobers a hundred times to learn a crumb of story. The rest of the games have their issues but I can’t put up with gatcha mobile rng FOMO simulators anymore. FFBE was enough
7:20 I remember that for months we thought Elrena was Strelitzia's sibling because of a translation error. It wasnt until the game came out that we fully knew that Lauriam's sister. So you can still find tons of old fan art and stuff were Elrena and Sterlitzia are sisters.
Why dont you like Atlantica? Is it the gameplay controls or the level design? I have really good memory so I really enjoyed the level designs of KH 1 over rest of the series. But the combat in Atlantica was ass. NOT BEING ABLE TO GUARD? YOUR ARSM ARE FREE SORA!!! Deep Jungle was also one of my favorites because of the vines and riding the trees lol
The Underworld has gotta be the worst world solely for the insufferably durable Fortress Crab Omega. Seriously, were there ANY medals whatsoever that could even scratch that thing?!
Pre watch: Worst world for me was UX Agrabah. It was so tedius, and when Dark Road also starts there, I remember the collective sigh from the fandom. At least once UX was cancelled and Dark Road got redone to be dropped in one go, Xehanort and co going "Fuck this" and leaving partway through was great. Post watch: Called it. You even mentioned how it's kind of retroactively ruined desert worlds for us 😄
If we ever go to Agrabah again, let's at least get to go see the 40 Thieves, fight Sa'luk, and get to explore the Mystery Isle looking for the Hand of Midas.
One of the most underrated disney movies is Aladdin and the king of thieves. They could use that and Al's relationship with his father for another Agrabah in a kh game and I would love to see it
Kingdom hearts two Atlantica I may just be a uncoordinated fool and that gives me a hard time with that world but I signed up for bashing heartless not rhythm games if I wanted that I would play melody of memory
Definitely Atlantica in kh2 I can’t pay that level in front of people I get second hand embarrassment cringe. Like I’m a whole grown man why am I playing a singalong lil mermaid game. Had me reevaluating my life
Atlantica in KH1 was a blast. They butchered it and let it rot in 2. I wanted improved combat. What did we get? A freaking rhythm game and horrid singing that took my kid self forever to get through. NEVER AGAIN
The only way I can see Agrabah return in a future kingdom hearts game is if they adapt the king of thieves movie into the storyline somehow. The third and final movie in that trilogy. Otherwise that’s it. People were hoping it would’ve been in Kingdom Hearts 3 but sadly that didn’t happen.
100% agree. I was having so much fun with union X until Agrabah made me resent it and eventually stopped playing. Now, when I play Agrabah in the mainline titles, I bomb rush the hell out of that level because I want out.
The worst for me was the ruler of the sky mission in 358/2 days. Absolute pain. Honorable mentions for me are specifically kh1 agrabah, pretty much all of riku's story in re: com, and kh2's 1st visit to olympus because first time playing crit and lv 1 attempts on that world are pure pain.
For me it was Deep Jungle, I got lost in the maze of trees or falling off and having to start all over again, it was a lot easier once I got the glide ability
Agrabah could definitely show up one more time, but that would require some real devotion since it'd likely be for King of Thieves. That film has some rad locations though.
KH1 & 2 is easily Atlantica for several reasons. The janky swim mechanics, the dolphin escort mission, and also my sister was OBSESSED with it growing up watching it over and over and over. I’d mute the game the second I’d land on the level… shivers.
That’s completely fair when it comes to Agrabah. I never ended up playing Union Cross enough for it to have the same impact on me. I just got really bored with the repetitive nature of a mobile phone game and pretty quickly deleted the game. Deep Jungle will always make my skin crawl every time I have to go there. Thankfully, it’s only in KH1 but doesn’t make the trauma any better
Monsters in Kh3 your literally just running for most of the level. It's super linear instead of making the doors interesting. Idk if I somehow played it wrong but from my experience that world is the worst when it comes to wasted potential.
If you don't think about union cross Agrabah is a really good world and the Kh1 secret boss Is really cool to play vs but for me my favorite is Twilight Town
My beef with agrabah is that Days was my first KH game as a kid and the Ant lion boss ended up being the roadblock that made me put it down, after which we either lost or sold the cartridge so really Agrabah stole part of my childhood from me
Same! Except I did end up beating him in the end. And then I went on to play Union Cross which further cemented my hate for Agrabah... and desert worlds/areas in games.
Worst first time experience with a world was Arendelle hands down. Never had the joy leave so fast. But after a current proud replay of kh 1, man the amount of deaths I had in agrabah. From pot centeped to cave of wonders that world was brutal. The worst part of crit kh2 was dying on Roxas and having to walk back, but in 1 the walks aren't far but bosses brick walling you are common. Top worst fights were probably shadow sora, cave of wonders, and dragon maleficent if it wasn't for stop and like 10 ethers.
I absolutely hated Atlantica and the Monstro level in the first game. All of KH1's clunkiness got multiplied with the swimming controls, being unable to block, and the second Ursula fight can go to Hell. As for Monstro, it was cramped save for the hub area, the visuals were unpleasant to look at, and the jellyfish boss can also go to Hell.
Surprised you didn't mention Dark Road. Though I suppose it was not as long. That being said - it's worth noting that in the original browser "Chi" (that later became UX), Agrabah ended with finding Abu. But when UX was running its story, I guess the decision to extend it must have been made early on - since before we knew for sure we were returning, it was noted that Agrabah did not flash the world title card after that event like it did in Chi. Which makes sense - Jafar or Genie had not even showed up yet.
For me: KH1: Deep Jungle and Wonderland and Atlantica and Monstro KH2: Halloween Town(Christmas section is cool though) and Port Royal 358/2 Days: Halloween Town and Wonderland Birth by Sleep: Enchanted Dominion(I hated going to Maleficent’s weird room that forces you to teleport on Ven and Aqua playthroughs) Dream Drop Distance: Symphony of Sorcery(I liked the music though) and Monstro Re Coded: Wonderland KH3: Haven’t played yet Re Chain of Memories: Haven’t finished, but it’s probably most likely going to be Wonderland
Glad I didn’t play enough for this to happen to me, then, and sad that Agrabah was tainted for so many. Agrabah in the main games was always an iconic, and fun world, particularly in KH1 and Re:Coded of all games where it’s the transition point into tougher fights and higher stakes going into later parts of the game.
I really don't wanna see it again, but they could bring it back ONE more time to play out the plot of the 3rd movie (it's the 3rd, right?), for Aladdin & Jasmine's wedding, and Aladdin's father returns with the milk (never actually seen it tbh)
My vote is for Arendelle, and it’s not even that it’s yet another Frozen related thing. The stage is very samey and easy to get turned around and lost in, the colors are basically all blue and white and gray, you have to climb the mountain repeatedly, the labyrinth is tedious and jammed in, I don’t like having to do the Olaf game twice, and they don’t really do much new with the story. Heck we don’t even get to go to Arendelle itself. If that had become a new unlocked area after beating the stage story, I’d probably give the stage a few extra points. Also having to do that slide minigame multiple times over just to get a crafting piece for Ultima doesn’t help either.
I never hated agrabah… until khux. I remember sitting in my room on the iPad going through the same. Exact. Picture of dirt. Big picture of dirt with random hidden things behind some rocks in the dirt. I lost sanity
When I was a kid, it was wonderland… super easy to get lost if you don’t know what you’re doing. As a slightly older kid, before I learned the ‘follow the green light’ trick, it was monstro. Now… it’s probably hundred acre wood kh3 specifically… HAW was always just minigames but in kh3 it was practically pointless to even bother unless you wanted to farm ingredients and even then it was tedious and boring as all hell 😑 Edit: I didn’t play all that much of unionX and I didn’t touch dark road at all…
Atlantica and Neverland are my top 2, with the Colosseum as a very close third. The first two because of the difficulties i have with the flying/swimming mechanics and fighting with the extra dimension. Colosseum because of the blasted barrel mini games you have to beat to progress.
Definitely want Olympus Colosseum to rest in peace, I am done with that world, I don't even want it back for just arena style deals like it was in KH1. If I'm gonna be cards on the table, I hate how they handled the worlds in KH3, why are we always on the sidelines or at the end of their stories? It just ruined the worlds for me since we couldn't ride shotgun with the main characters in their stories like we always had been. Now look at Olympus Colosseum, we're at the end of Hercules' story, they're just beating a dead horse at this point if they send us back. Plus, think how much it's holding back other worlds that could take the place of Olympus Colosseum as the world for arena battles, like for example, maybe Tron could step up to the plate, they've got the Game Grid which also functions as a battle arena.
KH1: Deep Jungle - Aside from Clayton straight up shooting you, this world was just kinda bland. KH2: The Pridelands - Again, felt bland and underutilized. I dislike Atlantica too but I find rhythm games fun. Days: Olympus Coliseum - you only show up to do random minigames. BBS: Keyblade Graveyard - it’s so barren and empty, nothing really much to do. Re:Coded: Olympus Coliseum - the turn-based RPG style fighting was horrendous back in the day. DDD: Symphony - The music is nice but overall it’s just a very annoying and tedious world that takes too long to get over with. KH3: Arendelle - it was literally just an ad for Frozen, instead of having an actual reason to be there.
Arendele was a big disappointment. It's clear the original plan was for Sora to team up with Anna and Kristoff to save Elsa who would've been fallen to darkness, but Disney interfered; not wanting their newest cash cow at the time to be a villain. Instead, we get a stupid Olaf mini game, thrown into a random labyrinth, team up with Elsa's snow monster, and fight a heartless boss monster that should've been Elsa.
Another issue with Agrabah is that there is a wealth of material from the show that could have been explored instead of just random tasks and chasing Abu. If they were willing to use Return of Jafar in KH2, why not the show for KHX?
They burnt us out on Agrabah before we had the chance of a King of Thieves plotline with the Vanishing Isle area. With how pretty KH3 was, it would have been perfect for it, but alas, it was not to be.
Atlantis by a mile. Its the first world that really made me begin to realize how limited the background music is. Limited would be giving to much credit as its basically under the sea on repeat in your ears alfter twenty minutes its almost as bad as its a small world while you just try to suffer through.
Honestly my pick is BBS's Disney Town, mostly because it has no buisness being a world with a mandatory visit. You literally only come in, watch a cutscene or 2, do a minigame, and then you leave. It's impressive that not only do you not need to get to a new sub-area to complete the story in Disney Town, but that it's also the only world without a immediatly obtained Keyblade aside from the Keyblade Graveyard (and technically the beggining world if you don't count Terra's return visit with the Eraqus boss)-like even Destiny Islands gave everyone new Keyblades after the plot is done and you're telling me I need to go-kart and eat Ice Cream?! My legitimate gripes also extend to nothing happening in Disney Town of consequence until Pete gets exiled for...not being voted for? Like, Terra gets a false lesson in "not bending rules to achieve goals", Ven pretends that he doesn't have friends (even though at this point Aqua, Eraqus and Terra worry for his safety alongside THE 2 KIDS THAT GAVE HIM AN EXAMPLE OF FRIENDSHIP IN RADIANT GARDEN), and Aqua just plays Fruit Ball which is my least favourite Minigame of all time with nothing remotely plot-like aside from learning who Pete is (who she never sees again after this so whoopty doo). This honestly should have been an optional world with Minigames ala The Mirage Arena, maybe with an unlockable cutscene for unlocking Sweetstack and completing all the minigames which contained Pete's exile. Like, I was so frustrated with Disney Town's nothingness in the grand scheme of BBS that I straight up wrote a basic outline for an Atlantica world with the plot of the 3rd Little Mermaid movie, including a gameplay outline underwater and granting an explanation towards King Triton's knoledge of Keyholes and Keyblades. This comment is getting too long and very tangent-y so I'll stop here.
The one last appearance of Agrabah I can see would be to end it with the 3rd movie so Jasmine and Aladdin could finally get married. So, less sand, more steam boat Genie?
I love Aladdin and tbh they could do a final one with him in the "King of Thieves" setting if they really wanted to. But my least favorite worlds were: KH1: Monstro KH2: Space Paranoids KH3: Arendelle BBS: Disney Town My all-time favs are funny enough all from BBS! I loved the classic Disney Princess worlds - Dwarf Woodlands, Enchanted Dominion, and Castle of Dreams. However, I can agree it was frustrating when waiting for KH3 to come out, only to get an Agrabah updated to Union Cross. I miss that game a lot and wish I could play it again. I did a ton of grinding, but it is now unplayable.
Felt this way after Dark Road seeing Agrabah again I was like "NO", and it's sad but I LOVED Union X (Unchained X too more so before the end of Union X for reasons) but then after that it did get ruined. Eventually the lore came through and I loved it to the end being sad it was all over. I did spend a lot on the game too because it was amazing, favourite mobile game ever
KH1 first frustrating level is The Deep Jungle, Agrabah is also frustrating. Really the whole game had bad environment progression. But just like my love for the mega man series, the first entry is very rough around the edges but set the groundwork for successful next entries.
For agrabah, there's the third Aladin film wich do have a decent story, and I think Aladin is one of the deeper friendships Sora have with disney characters, I wouldn't mind to have one last wrold but if you want to use those characters after that just have them show up on the hub world.
I thank Nomura-sensei every day for not making Atlantica a required world, and subsequently dropping it from the mainline games after KHII. Most of KHIII's worlds are pretty lifeless, but at least there's no Atlantica. Personally, I like KHI Agrabah because it's SDG's first foray into hyperspace; in my first playthrough of the game back in '02, my 8-year-old brain was blown when I saw there were MORE worlds AND I get to visit them with a new Keyblade (which is something I didn't know could happen on my first playthrough), then Agrabah gives me an even BETTER keyblade that'll stick with me until I get Pumpkinhead from Halloween Town Agrabah in KHII, however, was pretty neutered in its story and its keyblade. That "hi, Sora!" from Aladdin will never fail to make me laugh, though. Honestly, Agrabah was a pretty solid world (in my opinion) My least favourite worlds are (starting from least favourite) Atlantica, Arindelle, The Kingdom of Corona, Pride Rock, and Wonderland
UX did make Agrabah overstay well past its welcome; I think there were so many missions there because it was desolate and easy to design. I think when the game closed down, I was in the home stretch for finishing Agrabah
I think the world itself is fun to play in and explore but the story was terrible
Wut I just went through that world.. Hans was talking and even did his dumb little speech?

I don’t think they ever use Wonderland, to its fullest potential. it was such a great first world in kingdom, hearts one and there’s so much they could’ve returned to do
They could've adapted stuff based on through the looking glass, or even just have a jabberwocky heartless to fight

KH1 followed Aladdin 1, KH2 followed Return of Jafar, so the only reason to bring back Agrabah is for the King of Thieves movie.
Personally I would love for them to pull in Mozenrath from the TV show instead of King of Thieves.
I totally agree. It felt more like a complete retelling of the movie instead of something unique to KH
It’s wild cause it was planned to be something really cool. Elsa was supposed to actually be a villain. That’s what the random ice dungeon was for. But Disney in they’re all controlling macro management, scraped it and came up with the snooze fest in the final game.
@@andreaallson765no evidence that that is true, MatPat made it up because he didn’t like the level.
But Aladdin’s just “Whats good? gotta blast!”
Easily one of my favourite gags in the series

Hi Spindash! Thanks for all your hard work!!!
KH1: Deep Jungle
KH2: Atlantica
KH3: Arandelle (Good world bad story)
BBS: Disney Town
DDD: City of Bells
Deep Jungle is an amazing world, L take my dude
Dang bro, City of Bells? One of my favorite worlds
You think city of bells is worse than the grid? That's a wild take. I don't agree with deep jungle either.
The Grid was 1000 times worse than City of Bells.
People who struggled with deep jungle suffer from a skill issue, worst world was definitely monstro
40 thieves woulda been awesome
And Sora could've asked the scepter a question that was crucial to the story. That would've been a nice touch.
I love Deep Jungle ❤
glide makes going back there so trivial.
Kingdom hearts must have the worst areas because of gimmicks and labirinth like design.
@@aleksanderzaremba9695nah. Kingdom Hearts 1 has the best worlds

@@RedFloyd469 Speak for yourself, the level design was way too tedious compared to the later games it doesn’t help that you have little to no navigation unless you want to go on the internet, find a guide book or literally go in circles for hours until you find the place you’re supposed to be.
Bruh... Agrabah? I'll never hate the world because I will never play crappy mobile games. Mobile games are the worst things to happen to gaming
The only things I liked about the Agrabah world in KHUX:
1. Fighting Jafar in his Cobra form
Something Kingdom Hearts and Starwars fans have one thing in common: We hate sand.
Atlantica in KH2, I didn't need to hear Donald Goofy and Sora singing in a mini game that I couldn't skip and had to go back to over and over again the only good part being hearing the voice actors for both Ursala and Ariel
The fact that if you even paused it by accident meant you had to restart, KH2 Atlantica is top 3 worst level in gaming
I think those agrobah guards have more screentime that most of the foretellers lmao
@@JameyMcQueen I know right! That’s my least favorite world in the series

Absolutely she was horrible, but after dying I just equipped items that gave me lightning resistance and tanked the lightning until I killed her
Turns out you can cast stop on her and make her a fucking joke.

Arendelle. Hands down, full stop, no competition.
Monstro is my hated world because it looked all the same and had Parasite Cage.

KH1: Nightmare Before Christmas
KH2: Tie between Lion King and Nightmare
KH3: Tangled
Least Favorite KH worlds:
KH1: Monstro
KH2: Tron
KH3: Arendelle
KH2 Atlantica: why? WHY!?

This used to be a contest before Arendelle. Just one trek through that world, and I never wanted to do it again.
One of the most underrated disney movies is Aladdin and the king of thieves. They could use that and Al's relationship with his father for another Agrabah in a kh game and I would love to see it

KH1's Atlantica. I think I've said enough.
I’d be ecstatic if I found out that there would be no more Olympus Colosseum honestly. It’s run its course and done its job well
For me it was Deep Jungle, I got lost in the maze of trees or falling off and having to start all over again, it was a lot easier once I got the glide ability
Remember the ultra impossible up in difficult in Union cross when you get to the end
Agrabah could definitely show up one more time, but that would require some real devotion since it'd likely be for King of Thieves. That film has some rad locations though.
Kh1/2: Atlantica
Kh3:100 acre woods, The Tangled world (I forgot what it was called), and Arandelle
Atlantica in 2. Rhythm button pushing. Just...no
Before you got into it, I was gonna say... "I think Agrabah is my least favorite".
Glad to see I was onto something
Atlantica in kh2 is just the worst I hate doing that world I always end up doing it last
KH1 Monstro. I felt like i was falling into insanity, and i had to go back for some chests and oh my god i couldn’t think
If you don't think about union cross Agrabah is a really good world and the Kh1 secret boss Is really cool to play vs but for me my favorite is Twilight Town
My beef with agrabah is that Days was my first KH game as a kid and the Ant lion boss ended up being the roadblock that made me put it down, after which we either lost or sold the cartridge so really Agrabah stole part of my childhood from me
I beat him easy on proud
Same! Except I did end up beating him in the end. And then I went on to play Union Cross which further cemented my hate for Agrabah... and desert worlds/areas in games.
@@turtlelongingforchaos9055 trust me bro, there are some scummy bosses in that game. Especially in Neverland.
Best way to spice up Agrabah: borrow from Aladdin and the King of Thieves for story content. Boom, new characters and new story.
I just didn't think about Agraba when playing X union... but, my body started aching when it was Agraba, and I honestly didn't know why..... until now
Surprised you didn't mention Dark Road.
I would absolutely welcome Agrabah back in a future KH game on the condition that Mozenrath and/or Mirage are the villains this time around.Mozenrath

KH2: Halloween Town(Christmas section is cool though) and Port Royal
358/2 Days: Halloween Town and Wonderland
Birth by Sleep: Enchanted Dominion(I hated going to Maleficent’s weird room that forces you to teleport on Ven and Aqua playthroughs)
Dream Drop Distance: Symphony of Sorcery(I liked the music though) and Monstro
Re Coded: Wonderland
KH3: Haven’t played yet
Re Chain of Memories: Haven’t finished, but it’s probably most likely going to be Wonderland
Now… it’s probably hundred acre wood kh3 specifically… HAW was always just minigames but in kh3 it was practically pointless to even bother unless you wanted to farm ingredients and even then it was tedious and boring as all hell 😑
Edit: I didn’t play all that much of unionX and I didn’t touch dark road at all…
kh recoded olympus coliseum has got to be the WORST experience ever
The spaceship of stitch in BBS. Because if you play fast when you arrive that world goes that much underleveled that turns into nohit.
But my least favorite worlds were:
KH1: Monstro
KH2: Space Paranoids
KH3: Arendelle
BBS: Disney Town
My all-time favs are funny enough all from BBS!
Musical Antlantica was just the worst thing ever for so many reasons
Personally, I like KHI Agrabah because it's SDG's first foray into hyperspace; in my first playthrough of the game back in '02, my 8-year-old brain was blown when I saw there were MORE worlds AND I get to visit them with a new Keyblade (which is something I didn't know could happen on my first playthrough), then Agrabah gives me an even BETTER keyblade that'll stick with me until I get Pumpkinhead from Halloween Town
Agrabah in KHII, however, was pretty neutered in its story and its keyblade.
That "hi, Sora!" from Aladdin will never fail to make me laugh, though.
Honestly, Agrabah was a pretty solid world (in my opinion)
My least favourite worlds are (starting from least favourite) Atlantica, Arindelle, The Kingdom of Corona, Pride Rock, and Wonderland
UX did make Agrabah overstay well past its welcome; I think there were so many missions there because it was desolate and easy to design. I think when the game closed down, I was in the home stretch for finishing Agrabah
