The mentions of sisters, betrayal, and immortality are pretty strong hints here, especially considering a theory I saw on how Savathun could be involved with Crow's resurrection. (Specifically, Cayde's vanguard dare, and a certain Ahamkara who just might have heard it, and heard in it a wish.)
@@wanderer2453 yeah that would be weird if it was Xivu, she shows no signs of remorse, and seems to wholeheartedly serve the Darkness. Also Savathuuns forces were the ones that were literally just watching us and Crow.
Honestly, the hawkmoon lore tab seems to be from the perspective of Savathun, watching us and Crow enjoying eachother after the Hawkmoon mission. She's seeing us being kind and bonding. Its reminding her of her past life in Fundument, before the worms, before the darkness and before her endless war began. When her and her sisters loved eachother.
I feel the hawkmoon lore tab perspective is most likely of darkness, either savatuthun or zivu arath, I doubt the darkess itself has any understanding of family.
Question: What 'family' or 'siblings' does the Darkness have? It's a paracausal force playing a cosmic game with the Light. The remaining sisters of Oryx makes more sense for options because they were a family and both have done much to attain immortality.

The hawkmoon lore entry is told from the eyes of Savathun in the body of Osiris. We know this now from the Chrysura Melo entry, where in one event Savathun walks us through from her time impersonating Osiris and says that Crow, us, and her were drinking by a campfire. Is nothing sacred anymore
The Hawkmoon lore tab is Elsie Bray (The Stranger). the way she talks about remembering her sisters and her father, the blood spilt for immortality, and she also alludes to the fact that she is a machine wanting to feel the sun. I also feel it is her watching them because of her wondering what the feeling of "joy and comradery" I presume because you see this also in the dark future lore books when she wonders what this feeling is before the final fight with her sister and the others. it has to be elsie.
Chapter 9: The Return of The Dark Future lore book, the very last line reads: "No matter what I do, it always ends the same. Blood and betrayal. Then I'm back where I started. Right here." It has to be Elsie. And the feeling must be hope, or forgiveness.
The beginning sounds more like "The Veil" the light and darkness. To many terms that match with Strand. And the last part sounds like Savathun. Her feeling of having the light and her memories
It could be Oryx considering she is now a he. If the lore tab is current then it would be brother and sister if it was xivu or Savathune versus *sisters* in perspective of Oryx. Oryx also still lives through the exotic Touch of Malice from destiny 1.
@@tonriver1796 he isn't entirely dead, he lives in the weapon and since we lost it we could ask ourselves if he will be back. But he is definitely a he so. I just think Savathun or xivu are remembering the old days
I thought it was Savathun speaking that was watching the guardians around the fire celebrating. Another great video Byf. Keep up the awesome work and thanks.

I personally think it's Savathun, seeing Crow and the Guardian interact has likely dredged up some memories that she would rather not dwell on (By virtue of suppressed regret).
Brother. You are our speaker. Destiny talks to you and you guide us with your wisdom. I got goosebumps several times during this video. Thank you very much for all you do byf 😭
On the subject of hawkmoon being made from the traveler, does the traveler taste like vanilla? Like it smells like vanilla, but if I were to lick it, would it taste like vanilla?
Loved this video (also thanks for letting me know there is more after just the initial Hawkmoon quest, now it's time to hunt down 100 feathers) As for the person who is talking in the Hawkmoon lore tab... It makes sense that it would be Mara Sov. She seems familiar with Crow but acknowledges that he is different. She knows he has a higher ranking and purpose than to be a guardian but does not know the mix of feelings she has; grief, frustration, longing, and quite possibly... Fear.
Fortunately Spider is a man of his word. We won Crow, so Spider gave him to us without any tricks up his sleeve. Spider knows that if he were to ever piss off a guardian, he would stand zero chance in a fight
In a dialogue Crow tells you that it was removed by a technician of the spider, he (the spider) is greedy and slimy, but he understands that if we get mad there is no safe place left
The voice in the hawkmoon lore is totally savathun or xivu, the references to immortality, blood spilt over betrail, their father was very important (having the worm), and the mention of sisters
The part around 12:31 reminds me of the Aeon Cult armor lore, which is all connected across all classes. Some words are surrounded by brackets and parentheses, which must be read twice for the text to make sense. It’s a very interesting way to list a cult doctrine
Another great piece, Byf. Well done. It certainly seems like Savathuun speaking in the end but I’m trying to think of other living weapons we’ve got that would feel this way. Can’t think of any. Maybe it’s Xivu Arath? Makes sense given her presence this season. Maybe each of the hive queens can see through acquired items?
The Hawkmoon lore is believed to be of Savathun, it seems to be at least by Oryx, Savathun, or Xivu Arath. I don't know if its possible that Oryx can still communicate, but its probably worth looking into.
I think the person talking in the Hawkmoon Lore is Elsie Bray. The mention or her sisters, the urgency to fight the darkness, and more importantly the mention of the blood spilled in the name of immortality. It all points to her back story of who she was before the collapse, her push for us to face the darkness, and the horrors she was semi complicit with in Clovis' mad chase for immortality.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was Savathun speaking in the Hawkmoon lore book. The mention of her sisters (Xivu Arath and at one time, Oryx), their father, the ruler of Fundament, an ocean planet where she seemed to speak of lapping water at the shore. Also, the talk of blood spilled to achieve immortality (pact with the worm gods and their need for endless war). Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems pretty clear to me it was Savathun.
That voice in the campfire entry, I hope its Savathun, singular focus: the sword logic, complex vs simple and singular, sisters on lapping shores: the shores of the great Deep on Fundament, etc. It would be interesting to see Savathun taking an unexpected turn of heart
Kintsugi. The term "Tsugi" actually means to tie, but can easily be interpreted as repair as well. Kintsugi (keen-t-soo-g-ee) is the practice of repairing broken pottery with melted gold, showing that what was broken, is not worthless. A beautiful idea and practice
Looking back at newer lore, it's most likely Savathun watching through Osiris' eyes. Surely he'd be invited to this victory party with his prize acolyte.
Byf, the Characters in the lore card for hawkmoon are the crow, our guardian, and it's from the perspective of Savathun. The triumph over the taken that the crow and our guardian are celebrating is when we got hawkmoon. And it seems pretty obvious that it's from the perspective of Savathun with all the stuff about betrayal for immortality and stuff.
I feel like the one talking in the hawkmoon lore tab is savathun. Looking up at the stars and left wanting, remembering sisters and father, remembering the shores of fundament. It all would fit
It was pretty clear to me that it was Savathun's musings in the lore tab, especially given how she was talking about how none of this was the result she wanted, the futility of existence, the fact that she doesn't understand what happiness is, and the countless betrayals line.
Y'know, I've heard theories about it being Savathun that is in the hawkmoon lore tab, but I think it actually sounds kinda like Oryx. I don't know how he could, but after perishing to the light, maybe he is having a feeling of doubt in his life long pursuit of immortality.
As far as I can recall in the lore there are only two characters that would be speaking of sisters, immortality and blood spilled to gain it. Savathun and Elsie Bray. But, as far as I know, Elsie didn't betray anyone. I would have to say that all signs point to Savathun being the speaker, possibly watching Crow and the Guardian in her disguise as a part of the celebration. And the feeling is remorse, guilt and existential dread. In the last few years Savathun's entire universe has been uprooted and turned on it's head. Oryx and Crota defeated, the Traveler reborn, the Darkness kept at bay by these tiny, insignificant creatures who were all but completely destroyed by the time she arrived. Even for the most twisted and cunning mind in existence, these facts have to give you pause. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea, maybe the Darkness is weaker than she believes, maybe the Sword logic is flawed. I'm really hoping we get some deeper insight into Savathun's thought process in Witch Queen. Maybe this show of remorsefulness and contrition she's been putting on is just an act, a way to get closer to the Light and "infect our weaknesses" since they couldn't "defeat our strength." Maybe she's been using our good-will and naivete against us this whole time in order to take the Light and use it against us. All I can say for certain is, this is going to be... interesting.
The way I see it the hawkmoon lore tab is from the perspective of savathun, the references to blood spilled for immortality, and the memories of her sisters (remembering oryx was female during the times of the books of sorrow) lead me to believe this
As improbable as it sounds, I immediately thought of Oryx in the hawkmoon lore tab. Especially because it says they thought of their "sisters" plural. I think if it had been savathun, it would have said "siblings". And the line about looking up at the stars and feeling wonder, that tracks with Oryx and his curiosity about the universe and being the "navigator"
The person speaking in the Hawkmoon lore tab is Savathun. Notice how "Sword" is capitalized, implying the Sword Logic, and that there is a line about "I am reminded of my sisters", referring of course to Xi Ro and Aurash. Also she says here that a single simple thought would suffice, instead of a myriad of complex thoughts, i.e. Sword vs. Bomb.
Damn amazing production love it @byf I think the hawk moon lore tab might be one of the bray sisters Elsie? or savathuun the lore does fit all their back stories
Its Mara Sov, makes sense context wise the whole betrayal of others and immortality gives it away. The tone in general is like a sister seeing the unfamiliar but "pleasant" new Crow.
I believe the answer to your question at the end is Savathûn. She mentions the shores, which reminds me of Fundament. She also mentions her father. Of the three Osmium Sisters, she was closest to their father.
One detail I find interesting is the very start of Radiant Accipiter's Lore Tab, I think that bit about "Paracausal Chains" might be the Traveler/Gardener's counter to the Darkness/Winnower's beliefs about Power, essentially stating "You can play HIS game all you want (and you might even score a few points in the process) but you can never hope to win. The moment you play the Winnower's Flower Game he's won, and the only way to truly win against HIM is to turn the entire crux of the game on it's head."
In hawkmoon lore i think it was Savathun's thought. I think it makes sense. "I am reminded of my sisters" and "I am reminded of my father's face. I am reminded everyone i betrayed. All the blood spilled in the name of immortality" quotes reminded me of books of sorrow.
I had the same thought. If it had said brother and mother I’d have said Mara Sov

@@checkmate1860 Mara might outwardly sound indifferent and, as a result, might look she may find some emotions to be alien to her but that's not true. This lore tab is spoken in the perspective of someone whose emotional spectrum is stunted and Mara isn't in any way like that.
ANOTHER WEEKS BOYS AND ANOTHER TWA… I mean…
*most ambitious [azte]crossover....
I think it's heavily implied that the voice talking in the Hawkmoon tab is Savathûn
I mean who else has sisters and betrayed and slaughtered millions for immortality and watches everything? I'd be really surprised if it wasnt Savathuun
@@seaturtleninjagaming4602 I've heard people say it was Xivu Arath, but she talks in all caps
The question really is: who could it be OTHER than Savathûn?
The shores, the mention of a father, the capitol S in "Sword" - I'd put money on it being Savathun that's watching Crow and the Guardian.
**Hawk noises intensify**
Hawkmoon is by far my favorite lore tab and probably line of story ever, it raps up the story of the season and sets a beautiful scene that almost feels like the rap up episode of an anime arc, just a beautiful peice of story💚
The voice in Hawkmoons lore tab is undoubtedly Savathun. All the references to said narrators past is quite blatant.
And it's similar to the lore card for the Traveler's Chosen Exotic.
It’s not her but rather her sister
I think it could be either one of the two remaining Hive god sisters, more so Savathun since she has been spying on us alot as of late.
I feel like its Savathun shes mentioned her sisters and we know oryx was a sister before turning to who he is then
@@robertbean6508 Savathun was the one blocking the darkness’s messages to us so its safe to assume shes doing the same with the light
The way the lore tab is read, it sounds like Savathûn
Sisters, betrayal, distain for emotions; Yeah I think so too
What about Xivu Arath?
@@jimmyrittmann8208 Possible, but i feel the "Hive God of War" is not a creature for self-reflection. Plus, Savathun was the one in the controlling the taken in the mission, but mainly the reflection part.
Also since Savathun had her fathers worm, she was the one that encouraged aurash and xi ro to dive into the depths
"Like this Light" 🤣 thank you, editor, that was amazing.
I firmly believe the voice in the Hawkmoon lore tab is Savathun. Key give aways imo are the the bits about sisters, the sentence about their father, and blood spilled in the name of immortality.

@@jacobkern2060 okay but, savathuns father wasn’t killed by her either, and I don’t know where you took that from anyway because that’s not in the tab?
Hand cannons are the coolest, and always have been in the meta. Best lore, best names, best lore. Damn. Idk which my favorite is. Ace, Hawk, Word, Thorn? Shit. That’s hard.
Savathun as Osiris is speaking in the lore tab I think
I love it when you play Tranquility in the background. Favorite destiny 1 ost.
Lore Daddy blessed us with knowledge once again 🙏
Looking back on this now, the hawkmoon lore was definitely Savathun as Osiris. Wow, to think they hinted at it all along
Finally! Been waiting for this since the quest came out!
Chapter 9: The Return of The Dark Future lore book, the very last line reads:
"No matter what I do, it always ends the same. Blood and betrayal. Then I'm back where I started. Right here."
It has to be Elsie.
And the feeling must be hope, or forgiveness.
I really love Byf's use of audio filters lately. It adds so much atmosphere.
Was wondering when you would do this one.
I wish these were available as a podcast on Spotify so I could listen with my headset on while I'm playing Destiny
It'd make the school run more interesting
I’ve been waiting for this video for so long!
Crow is hands down my favorite Destiny character, not least because he’s so sweet to us. He really wants our approval and acceptance.

Watch there be a plot twist like" little do you know it was Shaxx"
I love the lore tab for both hawkmoon and the ship. Especially the ship.
byf's sword looks like a lightsaber
The Hawkmoon lore tab is one of my favorites ever. Pissing off Savathun with the power of friendship!

@@hitori_9148 there are only 3 sister we know from the lore that important it got be one of them
It could be Oryx considering she is now a he. If the lore tab is current then it would be brother and sister if it was xivu or Savathune versus *sisters* in perspective of Oryx. Oryx also still lives through the exotic Touch of Malice from destiny 1.

I love your vids their always so good and the lore of the game that you tell is amazing!
I thought it was Savathun speaking that was watching the guardians around the fire celebrating. Another great video Byf. Keep up the awesome work and thanks.
I think who speaks in hawkmoon lore is oryx
because he said he want to stay with hes killer or something like that and he said on the lore he remembers he's sisters and family and as I know oryx loves he's sister and family and he's said he remembers he's father face and in another lore oryx said the same thing as I know and in the lore he said he remembers the everyone he betrayed and as we know oryx betrayed i don't remember that creatures name but he betrayed tham to revive savathun and he said he remembers the blood spilled in the name of immortality and as we know oryx was killing to stay alive and he's the strongest one who uses the sword logic =kill a lot
Or maybe I am over thinking
I personally think it's Savathun, seeing Crow and the Guardian interact has likely dredged up some memories that she would rather not dwell on (By virtue of suppressed regret).
Change my mind its savathun I heard crow sings savathun song in the helm
Oh the one talking in the Hawkmoon tab is totally Savathun and i love it
Holy, Crow out here tryna make everyone cry nd shit O.o
Hearing Byf speaking in the Traveler and the Darkness’s perspective, it’s like I’m hearing two people in one body I can’t make head or tail of.
I call it Moonhawk and my friends hate me for it
Only in D1 vanilla
holy shit, you were completely right here: this was Savathun, looking at us and Crow through the eyes of the possessed Osiris.
I honestly like this new uldr- I mean "crow" less of an ass towards me
Ironic how the greatest detractor of the traveller (among our allays) became his greatest advocate in this time of crisis.
Crow is essentially pre-Black Garden Uldren in the terms of personality.
Loved this video (also thanks for letting me know there is more after just the initial Hawkmoon quest, now it's time to hunt down 100 feathers)
As for the person who is talking in the Hawkmoon lore tab... It makes sense that it would be Mara Sov. She seems familiar with Crow but acknowledges that he is different. She knows he has a higher ranking and purpose than to be a guardian but does not know the mix of feelings she has; grief, frustration, longing, and quite possibly... Fear.
Wait wasn’t there a bomb on glint that the spider would have used
Fortunately Spider is a man of his word.

Once again... absolutely brilliant writing. And excellent interpretation from Byf
28:01 nice to see ya used lumina for this mission too! 🤍⚡️🌟💛its my canon cannon
The Hawkmoon lore is believed to be of Savathun, it seems to be at least by Oryx, Savathun, or Xivu Arath. I don't know if its possible that Oryx can still communicate, but its probably worth looking into.
I can’t wait for the crow vid! Amazing work as always Byf
Trying to fall asleep to the velvet fog and Hulu ad shakes me from my between awake and sleep
This is a great observation
Osiris is also good friends with us the guardian so why wouldn't he be there and to see how things are going
The way the description reads, It sounds like Clovis, but that’s just a stab in the dark
The Hawkmoon flavor text came off to me as Savathun. Seems to make the most sense given the last couple seasons with her involvement
Sword vs. Bomb.
Honestly, I think it’s Savathun or Xiva Arath. The bit about sisters really stuck with me. So that’s my pick. Great video as always byf
Damn amazing production love it @byf
I think the hawk moon lore tab might be one of the bray sisters Elsie? or savathuun the lore does fit all their back stories
