Spriggans aren't meant to kill units. They are meant to slow down production. Imagine a hit and run tactic on the bobs slowing their resources per minute. Since they don't auto regen health, they would eventually die to enough waves of chip damage. Add that with the slowed production buildings and the Vanguard has a tough time keeping an army. This is why trading is so effective for the infernos. It would be very hard to defend a quick status effect. With that in mind. The Vanguard should have focused on the guants instead of the spriggans in this game. Add that with a few air units and it would have been GG.
Regarding the funding I opted into the Kickstarter at the $60 package. My main interest in the game is the Custom Games. The most fun I've ever had gaming in my life has been back in the day with WC3 Custom Games and it sounded like FGS really valued Custom Games and recognized a healthy Custom Game scene as an integral part to the RTS genre. They even went so far as to call it 1 of the 4 pillars of their game. So to find out that this and the other feature I was most looking forward to(the 3v3 game mode) are kind of up in the air is actually a huge blow to my confidence in the game. I don't think FGS was necessarily going out of their way to be maliciously deceptive in the sense that they were just trying to do a money grab play and leave the community high and dry. But I DO think there was some purposeful omission of information and some carefully crafted presentation of other information that was meant to give the community a sense of the state of the game that wasn't wholly truthful. If I was aware of the same information I had now prior to funding the Kickstarter I think I would not have backed the game. Just my two cents though.
Hey there! I think you have some very good point here. I totally get your perspective here also because your main interest in the game isn't technically guaranteed when the game is funded till early access, but would have been if it was funded to full version 1.0 release. I think actually that distinction between funding till early access versus version 1.0 affects the type of RTS enjoyer you are potentially the most! Especially if it would have altered whether you would have backed or not. Great to get your perspective on it
You deserve more subs
Thanks so much! Hopefully as the game gets popular so will the channel 🙌🏻

spriggans really feel awful, sure he won this game but not because of the striggans, rather despite them.
