We always think people will be around forever and sometimes it's not until you loose someone that you realize how precious they are. Thanks Andrew for making a difference in the bonsai world.
A legend of our time. His pots will carry his name for generations to come and I still hope that I become fortunate enough to add one to my collection. A very fitting tribute Bonsai Mirai
I’ve known Andrew and his lovely wife Marie for really quite some time. I met him via his wife who is also an incredibly talented ceramic artist- me and Marie would often be at the same ceramic events where we showed our ceramics. At first I hadn’t appreciated that Andrew was an accomplished maker himself (very much a reflection of what a humble gentleman he was with no sign of ego). I have been making a living with ceramics for 45 years now exploring the Japanese aesthetic which has influenced my work for decades but I am quite new to making bonsai pots and it was Andrew that encouraged and reinforced my desire to create works that explore an East - West fusion. Without his unbridled and generous support I may never have pursued bonsai pot making at all. I shall never forget his help, his words and his advices. He was quite simply ‘one of the good guys’. I shall miss him.
When I first started pottery Andy and Tracey Francis were the only two Pro's that gave me pointers. I'm grateful for Andy's art and the generosity of his knowledge.. May the Force be with him. Thanks for posting this Mirai🌳🍁🌲
Andy was a great potter but also a wonderful mentor. He would often say there was a space for everyone and he wasn't wrong. I'm eternally grateful for his help and advice when I lacked confidence in myself. Shine on diamond geezer. Blessings to your family. You'll be missed mate x

He helped me through a couple of stumbling blocks I was experiencing. He was always patient and free with his knowledge.. an amazing resource.
