Nobody does it like the Japanese. What an example to the rest of the world. The way you humbly capture their sencerity and respect is also very well done, they are lucky to have an ambassador like yourself.
As a horticulturist and landscaper myself, I would love to have the access to planting as you do or the landscapers do within this property. Most of my jobs have a house and a hilly landscape already botched by the builders who carved out the plot. I am usually digging and tilling into hard clay. We do it for the betterment of the property, the owner and the planet. New landscapes are always fun to look at. It's not as simple as it sometimes looks. When experts make things look easy, you know that it's not. That's why they are experts. Oh and by the way, cinematic music while you work? I never knew a labor job could be so glamorous.
Bjorn, what an amazing and inspiring journey for you and your family!!! Wish you the best on your endeavors in Japan and in the world. Wish I can visit your nursery some day. Blessings from Puerto Rico!!!
So pleased that you are sharing this aspect of your journey Bjorn. It adds an intimacy to the technical aspects of your platform as well as giving an insight into the differences with The West. Looking forward to seeing your progress and very best wishes for a successful 2025. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Bjorn for sharing this placement and planning of the 2 new trees. Merry Christmas to you, Nanxi, Luna and Momo. The New Year is coming with great excitement
Bravo, the trees appear to be framing your mountain view with alternating seasonal color. While they give you some privacy the neighbours should enjoy the additions. Do have to say I was hoping to see the maple standing upright with its amazing leaves but understand the courtesy. See you in February.
Por fin un canal donde se pueda escuchar en español. Felicidades tengo un cerezo prunus mume lo plante igual pensando en dejarlo tamaño real!! Tengo mi proyecto en Centroamérica! Amo Japón 💕
It is so exciting to accompany your new beginning in Kyoto and I am already looking forward to the continuation next year... A merry and peaceful Christmas from Germany Michael
It’s a great process to follow Bjorn. Thank you for taking the time to capture and narrate so thoughtfully. I’m currently watching it while back in Tennessee just a couple miles away from the old nursery. Incredible what a year can do ! I’ll continue to support from afar. Cheers buddy
Hey Bjorn I could watch this for hours. Ideally on a big screen in a movie theater. I'm looking forward to next year and the other episodes. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Congratulations on the start of the building of your garden and house soon I guess. I wish you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy Prosperous New Year. Greetings from Norway.
I'm interested in knowing why they have used wood to protect the planting mound and the top of the root ball...in all my years in the garden I have never seen this method used before?
Thank you for sharing it with us. It is so interesting and I am already waiting for the next episode… It will be a great 2025 with more experiences!! A Merry Christmas and and a happy new year!!
The process and work to bring your amazing home come to fruition is great. One can following the end vision that began on drawings and plats. Love the designed project and cannot wait until future videos continue to showcase your beautiful home.
Looks great but in the Netherlands neighbors would complain about the large trees… “oh no, it’s taking away sunshine…” “oh no, all these leaves in my garden…”
The trees look magnificient! Can't wait to see what the finished property is going to look like, especially in a few years when things have "settled in" :)
Really great to follow your journey! So beautiful to see that you are following and realizing your dream. You are an example for me to realize my own dream place. Also beautiful to see with how much attention and care the trees have been planted 🙏 Everything will be fine with your trees. The root ball is really not too small. My trees that I planted like this I did for the first 2 years made sure that they got extra water, especially in the summer. I will definitely keep watching and follow your story.
Thanks for this incredible journey. There is a young You Tuber in Kyoto whose channel is Japanese Garden TV who should find out about you and your garden by the name of Matsunaga. Hope you can connect with him to supplement your coverage. Good luck in 2025 Bjorn.
Bjorn thank you very much for sharing this fantastic video,it was very exciting to see the planting of these two wonderful trees. I wish you and your family a peaceful Christmas and a fantastic new year!👍👍😍🎄🔝
Just incredible trees! like you i found the root ball of the cherry surprisingly small but i wouldn't dare doubt the pros. Stunned by the beauty in the form of the cherry too, just a magical addition to the garden, and the maple doesn't look too big with the backdrop of the gardens in the surrounding houses. Merry Christmas to you and the family, and best wishes for the coming year
Merry Christmas, dude! I'm excited for you, and I can't wait to make my very first trip to Japan to visit your garden. Are you going to plant any Stewartia on your property?
I've seen lots of videos on Japanese garden design and what strikes me is that they plant trees like this so shallow. I should expect trees like this to be planted deeper. I guess they a good reason to do so. After all, they are professionals. Great to see the start of building your new garden and house. Wish you and your family all the best for 2025!
Great video. Thanks for sharing. It makes me wonder- when purchasing high-end trees like this, is there any guarantee? Where does the liability exchange from the seller to the owner? If the tree dies, do you lose out?
When visiting Japan I would love to visit Esei-En. Will it be open to the public when completed or book a visit in advance? Definitely a place worth visiting when in Kyoto. Thanks for the videos
It's known as 'ball in bag'. While in some parts of the world they call it hessian other countries call it burlap...It is used so you do not have to disturb the root ball when planting....it's a natural material that will break down quickly while allowing new feeder roots to grow right through it. Usually once the root ball is planted the top rope and burlap are cut to ground level so as not to create a 'wicking' effect from the burlap....It has been found the burlap will draw water from the lower roots up the burlap and into the atmosphere if not cut back...which can kill the plant.
Did you or the landscape architect need to reach out to the neighbor about any autumn leaves from this new tree dropping on his property in the future?
Dear Bjorn Have you been this Japanese Nursery 4代目の盆栽枯らさない塾 ? Bjorn if not You going there Would Help him Out and He just Open to TH-cam videos and it be Awesome. Bjorn he has a Sea of Pine Trees and maybe a few you Could take to the Next Level. Please let us know. Gory
What is happening to the orange fence on the right side of the perimeter? Is that boundary your neighbours if so how will you over come that problem. In the U.K. boundary disputes are legendary the cause of so much disharmony.
@@EiseienBonsai That makes sense......but what about the rear of the property and the left side; there are various concrete masonry (CMU) walls; and some of the pilasters are protuding into the build site (your property). It appears these were built when your property was "vacant" and they appear to come into your property? The concrete footings for these walls are also sticking into your property. I am surprised that wall footings are not deeper and below the frost line. Without going into too much of your business....are you confident about the property line and those walls ? Regards from NY.....
As a gardener, I find it fascinating how they work. So much care, dedication and respect for the neighbors.
Nobody does it like the Japanese. What an example to the rest of the world. The way you humbly capture their sencerity and respect is also very well done, they are lucky to have an ambassador like yourself.
I think your neighbors are already loving you. Especially the ones with a bird's eye view of the newly transplanted trees.

Hey Bjorn, could you consider reuploading Episode 6? I'd love to watch the full series :)
When visiting Japan I would love to visit Esei-En. Will it be open to the public when completed or book a visit in advance? Definitely a place worth visiting when in Kyoto.
Thanks for the videos
Beautiful trees. So they left the root wrapping on to desolve naturally...?
What do they use as wrapping?

I know it's bad timing with the construction ongoing, but what happened to the podcast? Just got into it and saw it stopped in 2020
Finally🎉
can’t wait to see how this progresses in 2025 :)
Did you or the landscape architect need to reach out to the neighbor about any autumn leaves from this new tree dropping on his property in the future?
How has it already been a YEAR!?
I keep wondering about the price of such trees...
Whst is the costing for both plants bro
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I prefer growing my own trees from scratch
👍👍👍

Haha we own that fence and the plants on the other side of it. Both will be replaced with a very beautiful traditional Japanese wall.

@@EiseienBonsai Phew that’s a relief. Can’t wait to continue your journey of construction and establishing of your nursery.
👏💪
The neighbors also have very beautiful trees. But I really don't like this fence.
