my grandmother cooked....and cooked and cooked!....i was her best taste tester........specially jag and Fava beans
This place was my first date with my husband back in 1992 before the fire. He had never had portuguese food and loved it.

I was just telling my husband that he should try this restaurant, he has never been. He is on the hunt for the best Portuguese steak! We watched a review on Phantom Gourmet. Your review has much more detail :) The bread and cheese app looked so delicious, thank you for sharing
You are very welcome! We really like the Portuguese food at Sagres. My favorite Portuguese steaks are from Portas da Cidade in Westport and/or Estoril in Fall River...

I can’t believe I’ve lived 2 hours from New Bedford and haven’t visited. My son’s college roommate is from there. He’s visited many times and said the local Portuguese restaurants are terrific.
I’ve been to Portugal…….how can I ignore these gems?

Looks great, I'll DEFINATELY have to try. Being from New Bedford Portuguese food is a STAPLE. In fact, The Feast of the Blessed Sacrament is this weekend, always great food!!!

We do too! We have gone quite a few times, but finally decided to do a video for the channel. I think we are going to do Estoril, Caldeiras, and Caravela in the next several weeks.

Their desserts are store bought. Not the greatest. That’s probably why.
