Very cool, informative video, like it a lot. But what's the thing about Chris King headsets, apart from the "Rolex factor"? I stumble over it all the time, wether it's the NYC university gal or the Frisco pro trick rider... In Europe, Chris King headsets are around 280$, whereas a NJS approved Tange Seiki Levin headset, which I put on my Soma Rush build with a quill stem, costs 85$. Glad for any re-comments...
It's nothing special, uses NTN Taiwan factory bearings, not Japanese factory. I can't tell the difference between the old NTN and the new but some people claim the new Chris King headsets aren't as nice. Personally I can't tell the difference between a Tange Seiki Powerglide which is the low end Tange Seiki and a Chris King, so go for it. Tange Seiki made all the bearings for the old school UN72 Shimano Square Taper bottom bracket that used to go for 150,000km so even if you buy the 12 dollar Tange Seiki headset or bottom bracket you are getting a super high quality part. Hidden gem in the bike world.
As @n0future666 mentioned, Vittoria Randonneur. It's a pretty classic fixed gear tire and has a signature red secondary layer that begins show as the tire wears to the threads.
It's just general wear and tear. The elements have a lot to do with it. Sealed bottom brackets do a better job at protecting from rain, rust, etc. The most common issue is that the bearings go bad, it doesn't roll as smooth, and or it starts making creaking sounds. Check out the rain video to see how water and the weather can effect the BB bearings. th-cam.com/video/slRrU3nk5Ug/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ltN4Zl7_lHR0PbBI
Yeah, it’s a full frame lens. It’s honestly one of the most powerful part of my kit. My favorite combo is brining my fisheye along with my 70-200mm zoom lens and shooting everything hand held.
@@omarvazquez3091 - I just checked the link, and this is the exact Fisheye I have. amzn.to/3vFR7nK It's the Rokinon 12mm F/2.8 Fisheye. Check out wheeltalk.org or my IG to see other example images I've shot with it. It'll probably be pretty easy to spot which images were shot with the fisheye.

There's no such thing as a "fastest frame" or "fast tire". A capable rider on a mediocre build will always crush a mediocre rider and a highend build. Don't fall for marketing BS.
@@pinoygal6232 Alu is a good frame material but only if the tires are 38mm or larger and you can't feel the negative effects of it at all. I like to ride 32s so I need a nice flexy steel frame for the street.

Matt never disappoints us with those colors and editing 🗣
Thanks @kelvin5005 I appreciate you.
I love that pretty much every part is chosen to maximize speed without compromising durability. Beast of a build!
For sure, Jake really spends the time to curate his builds
KEEP EM COMING!!!!!! ✨
What's up Jake, it's good to see you here. I'm stoked to share next week's video. 📼✨
Can confirm, AC3 in Scopes goes way too hard. Been loving mine for a few months now love to see one getting wear n tear
feels similar yet different from the last bike check but it’s still the same vibes!!! love the video
Jake knows what he likes. Small changes since the last bike check we filmed with him, but wanted to make a 2024 update anyway. 🏁

Really sick bro! love you Fixed Gear content ;)
Thanks fam, I love a nice fixed gear build. The simplicity of them is part of what got me into riding bikes.
Now I want a bike like that. Hopefully I don't hurt myself too badly learning how to do one handed wheelies just inches from the streetcar tracks 😂
So clean! I knew it was an absolute spaceship 👾
Straight rocket ship 🚀
god i love that frame
You and me both! I really love the look of the AC series and all the graphics that MASH makes for their bikes.

What is a rando tire? Is it a Vittoria Randonneur?
Yes, exactly. We often will call them Randos for short.
What's the Rando back tire? What are rando's?
