  • Art the Clown returns to bring extreme carnage in Terrifier 2. While I was never a big fan of the original, I had a really great time with this sequel.

    It's crazy how Art began as a short film called The 9th Circle in 2008, another short film called Terrifier in 2011, to being in an anthology that's dedicated to the character of Art in 2013, called All Hallow's Eve, to now being in his second film of his own franchise. Art has experienced an evolution unlike any other horror villain before him.

      @@B1Kobe0824 The problem though is in the execution the first one had no story at all besides the Clown guy kills random people and because it's so constant dark toned you already know what's going to happen to the characters so it becomes torture porn and torture porn with little to no story isn't that entertaining. The second was slightly better still not great it had more story but never explained any of it the kills were better but it was also overlong with sequences and kills extended just for the sake of it. Unless you just love the gore of these movies and that's all you need there really isn't anything else to them even though most of the characters are weak, to be honest.

    • @B1Kobe0824
      @B1Kobe0824 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@boomstickcritique902 well how familiar are you with horror? Namely 70's - 80's classic horror/slashers????
      Surely you've heard of a classic called Halloween released in 1978? There was a killer influenced by an unknown evil force and killed random people for reasons unknown. The film and others to follow had a dark tone and was a bit of a dimly lit film.
      And did you catch Art's entrance that was very reminiscent of Freddy's in the original A Nightmare on Elm St.
      Then lastly there's the gritty 80's Grindhouse horror films that were gore films.
      You see today fans either don't know or forget that making movies are an art form. And in that they can be as surreal as a painting or a sculpture.
      Fans today's treat movies like a term paper in an English class always looking for a particular structure and for every detail to be laid out for them.
      Did you know that the original Halloween wasn't intended to have sequels? And that Michael was just to have disappeared in the dead of night leaving what happened to him up to the imagination of the audience?
      Fans today are lost when it comes to movies. That's why I always say today fans aren't the fans they used to be. Back in the day fans didn't look for trailers, information, or watch movies to critique them. They just went to have fun.
      There's nothing wrong with enjoying certain kind of films or them being done a particular way. But fans really need to get back to understanding the genre, the art of filmmaking and the different ways of making them. That including understanding the artist's imagination and motivation for making the individual films that are out there.

      @@boomstickcritique902 and understand too especially in a series the plot and some details aren't going to be revealed all in the first film. That would leave it nowhere to go. There's a build up where more is learned over time. I had to explain this to people with series like the new Halloween films that it was trilogy that re-established the franchise back to its original concept without the sibling angle that was added in the original sequel and had a conclusion where it didn't before.

    All Hallow’s Eve basically hints that Art the Clown is a supernatural being. I’m not sure if you’ve seen it but it’s a Halloween anthology film where a babysitter and the two kids find a tape in one of their goody bags and they watch the tape. Art is on the tape at some parts and then they show some other demonic beings on the tape as well (like the little girl in Terrifier 2 but she’s not in the movie, just other beings are shown on the tape in that movie besides Art) and then Art pops up in their house after the tape is done. So you watch the tape as the characters are watching it and then the third act is the end of the tape, the kids go to bed, and Art appears in the house (that’s all I’m gonna say). Not sure if a lot of people knew that All Hallow’s Eve introduced Art though. I highly recommend watching All Hallow’s Eve for sure if you wanna see more of Art and see where the character started.

    Saw it yesterday. It was hilarious and I had so much fun watching it. Love Art the Clown as a character. The blood didn’t look real so I wasn’t as grossed out as I thought I would be.
    Agree with the questions unanswered. It was annoying. Also the very last scene after the credits?? Guess they are planning for a third movie lol.

    Art is the only horror villain that actually freaks me out. I quit watching one of the movies, the one with the kids and babysitter. Then I watched the first movie hack saw and all and that freaked me out. I very much appreciate Art the Clown though, it's not easy to be a silent menace.

      It's a two and a half hour movie you would think they would answer some questions about art the clown but they don't by the time the third movie comes out nobody is going to care or they're going to be disappointed in the answers but that is some speculation on my part all I'm saying is if you are going to do a trilogy providing some answers about the antagonist is the best way to do it especially when the movie is as long as it is quality over quantity
