The Cleveland show took the character who happened to be black (voiced by a white actor) on Family Guy and elevated it to a black character telling a very black story lines. When you're pitching an animated series that actually gets picked up you hire all your friends to do voices and pay them nothing. If it lasts one year, you're a genius. If it lasts 30 years you're a racist.
What difference does it make when it's just a voiceover, you can't even see who's talking. Whoever plays the voice that they want and looking for, that's who get the part
Vlad, only "Cleveland" was played by a white actor. The rest of the actors were mostly black.
With the exception of Sanaa Lathan, Reagan Gomez and Kevin Michael Richardson all playing black characters and they ARE black people... especially Kevin who played multiple characters both black and white and he's one of the best voice actors in the game and has been for years. And I believe they thought it was wrong to have the mom or meg voice at first as a black voice actor they thought it was going to be a problem. On family guy. But the black characters can be white voice actors.
