Yeah new downtown arena for the Wemby era! Hemisfair was for George Gervin, Alamo dome was for David Robinson, ATT was for Tim Duncan. The Att center was supposed to help the economy in the eastside back when it was planned but fast forward 22 years later absolutely NOTHING has changed in the eastide. That project is over time to move on downtown where there's plenty of economic growth opportunities with all the stores, restaurants etc. available.
This will bring more events and more concerts, etc.
It would be nice to get a new arena for the spurs and a new stadium for the mission. The issue I see is parking. That was the big issue when the spurs were in the Alamodome.
New arena downtown. The main problem would be parking and a suitable location but I can imagine people would like to go from the riverwalk restaurants to the arena
I watched the $pur$ at the hemisphere arena,alamodome,At,t .hemisphere arena was the BEST ARENA.
A new arena downtown will help the businesses earn money for staff. I work at a restaurant at Rivercenter Mall on The San Antonio Riverwalk as a busser.
As a lifetime Spurs fan, i went on a business trip to Philadelphia and found out the city have their professional teams next to each like a sports community. The football Eagles, Wells Fargo Arena (Sixers and Flyers), and the baseball Phillies are next to each other. San Antonio Texas need to need to study this.
In Denver, you can walk to the Bronco Stadium from Ball Arena. It's as close as the Alamodome is to downtown.

There's nothing around the AT&T Center and it's a pain in the ass going to and from that place. They definitely need an arena somewhere else.

I'm a New York based Spurs fan and I came out to San Antonio to see a game back in 2007 and I really liked the arena. If it is still in the condition in which I saw it in then I don't think we need a new one. Just make the $85 million dollar renovations and keep it moving.

They're not getting new arena downtown. If anything it will be built on northside like everything else. If not move to austin. Don't believe me why do you think they're testing and giving it a shot. Option B when can't build one in san antonio.
IDK what the county judges are smoking if they think we SPURS fans wanna keep going to the ghetto east side to watch games. After 20 years not a single development has happened. No way SPURS are staying there. Bring them downtown!!
In my opinion the site of the old courthouse building at Hemisfair would be perfect for the Arena. And i would build the Missions ballpark where the ITC currently is. Both those buildings are old and ugly and need to be demolished.
