Years ago he'd said that after Kurt's death, playing music just "wasn't the same" for him. Glad to see he's let it back into his life. And I LOVE how he still plays his bass slung way down low. Still just so honest and legit :)
Still to this day and after all this time, every time Krist mentions something about Nirvana you can tell he is still very very emotional about it. You can truly feel this tragedy broke him forever and he never really recovered from it. His voice and words get to me every time.
I honestly think Krist and Chad are the happiest out of the surviving Nirvana members. Both seem to have just enjoyed life afterwards. Krist just flying his planes and jamming is awesome
@@christopheredgarmedellin7536 Not saying there is. I’m just saying they both seemed to get over what happened and moved to a simple life. While Dave to this day still claims he can never listen to or enjoy Nirvana, or even really plays drums alone again without wanting to breakdown in tears. It’s just sad was all
Awesome band, the two records they have are beatiful great pop rock country songs, jillian voice is so powerful and heavenly, super awesome band, well done krist
I love the way he speaks, he was hilarious in those old Nirvana interviews weren’t quite sure if he was joking like he kind of was and wasn’t-I met him at a party I went to with my parents in 96 ish lol they were all boomers and didn’t know who he was, I was 17 and trying not to fangirl too hard-he seemed really emotional and maybe not the happiest about the “fame” part of being recognized when we talked about Nirvana and he has kind of the the same tone with it now. I like their bands sound and the motivations behind it, so glad to see he’s enjoying life, and looks like a wonderful, beautiful place ❤️
Nirvana is my all time influence and with Krist's "resume'" the thing I respect the most is he took his fortune and first got a college degree and the man's a pilot. 😁 Besides being a phenomenal bass player, the man's awkward but no dummy. My kind of dude 😆
If you just showed me a picture of his pick hand holding his pick, I could tell you it’s Krist. Such a uniqueness in the man and his playing. I couldn’t be happier for him.
I am so fortunate to be able to say that I was the first Jock in the world to air their first single, "Sasquatch". These guys are THE true sound of the Pacific Northwest! Giants in the Trees RAWK!!!!
Well first n foremost let’s just say he’s a really, really good musician. On the unplugged you get to see him play the bass, the accordion and the acoustic guitar as good as anyone. Plus when Nirvana did seasons in the sun Kurt played drums and it was Kris who played the lead electric guitar
Some great sound from those 4. I like it! I got to meet Krist while I was walking downtown Seattle in ‘98. He crossed the street and was walking with this blonde gal. I know Earnie Bailey who was Kurt and Krist guitar tech. That was my in to say hello…”Hey, I know someone you know…” he said, “Whose that?” ….and that started the conversation. He immediately introduced me to his friend and we walked and chatted for a couple blocks before I turned and went my own way. I’m 5’7 and look like a hobbit next to him. Such a nice, polite and genuinely human dude.
Lets be honest, if Krist wanted to play in a huge band and tour, he could. But i love that hes doing what makes him happy. I love you krist! Keep being happy and humble
Love that he still has his humor.. When he said "arent you the drummer from nirvana. No im krist " it still shows he didnt lose all his humor cause he seemed so destroyed after kurts death.. So im happy he is still a goofball after all that mess
Krist is a legend and a great dude. piloting is exactly what I'd do with my spare funds too. and Giants in the Trees are great. looking at my signed poster now. looking forward to that Third album.
Krist is simply one of the most down to earth quirky weird insightful beautiful real human beings. Kurt was so lucky to have a friend like him. Giants too! I will be into and support anything he does!
They were friends with Kurt at school if I’m not mistaken. It all started from those two. Their friendship is one of those prolific relationships that creates greatest art pieces. Dude’s a legend for staying so humble 👍
My niece lives in Cheney with her mom now but lived in Seattle and then Everett before moving to Cheney.. we come up there from Arkansas to see her and I really want to go explore Seattle and it would be awesome to be able to meet Krist... definitely a goal of mine. Dave would be cool too but I'd rather meet Krist first lol
Krist has earned every right to do whatever makes him happy for sure. I can't say this video makes me happy or eases my distopia however. I liked when he threw the bass and it clocked him. Nobody filmed that on their cellphone.
I've seen his house down there. Don't get me wrong, it looks like a nice place, but is perfectly befitting for a grunge icon. Krist is true music royalty.
Never knew he was a pilot! That’s pretty cool! I’m glad he seems to be doing well for himself, and has found his happy spot. Maybe you could even call it…. nirvana?
I love that he still has the same bass...
One of the best electric basses ever made.

Glad to see he’s still doing well nowadays. Krist is the reason I picked up bass. Such an awesome guy.
Krist has always seemed so genuine. I’m glad he’s happy and having fun. Famous or not.
Kris has always come across as a humble guy. He made his lifes fortune creating some of the most iconic bass riffs in Rock history.
