    Great video! I'm thinking of going crabbing in Bodega Bay soon. I would get some 80 to 100 lb braided line and use that instead of monofilament. Monofilament tends to have a lot more flex than braid and can hinder the snares ability to catch the crab.

    • @girlfinfishing
      @girlfinfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ty! It’s so much fun crabbing there.
      When I went deep sea fishing in Santa Cruz they said you couldn’t use braid, so I would check to make sure it’s legal to use it from shore.
      I bet it would hold up better though.
      Hope you get a chance to go crabbing soon. 😎

    • @Ahmad-pu9ci
      @Ahmad-pu9ci 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@girlfinfishingThank you! I plan on going crabbing when the wind dies down and the swell is a bit smaller 🤔 I'm pretty sure they don't let you use braid offshore because it can cut your fingers really bad if you catch a big fish. It's totally fine to use it from shore. Yeah, crabbing is so much fun! I've been doing it since the 90s and I still love that feeling when you pull up a crab 😁

    When I saw the Old Bay Seasoning in your thumbnail, I said now you're talkin! That stuff is religion here in the Chesapeake Bay area haha. We have the Blue Crab here, but no Sea Lions, haha. That's my first time seeing a crab snare.

      I bet it is haha
      I want to try blue crab. I hear the blue crabs are super feisty. You are lucky you don’t have sea lions. They know how to ruin a good day of fishing and crabbing.
