    Very good song. I agree the instrumentals were amazing. The "sweet emotion" part i too feel is very much known over the rest of the song. That part along with the opening instruments gives off a very chill peace + love vibe. Like in the 70s or 80s i wanna say. I was born in the 90s so dont qoute me on that lol

    • @SirManfly
      @SirManfly 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe Aerosmith's best ever song?

    • @flubber1557
      @flubber1557 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SirManfly not sure. I dont follow one artist anymore than any other artist. So i havent heard all their music but this is 1 of theirs i have heard and enjoyed. I think i like dream on more tho. Dream on has more energy and excitement which i tend to like with rock n roll. This is more a feels song but still great. I just think i would prefer my music to pump me up or get me excited than hit me emotionally most of the time.

    'Sweet emotion' was written in 1975 by Steven Tyler (vocals) of Aerosmith as a diss track at Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry's first wife Elyssa... Steven & Joe were the creative duo in Aerosmith, and Elyssa Jerret was a model who hooked up w/ Joe Perry (they eventually got married)... but Steven hated Elyssa cos she was driving a wedge between him & the guitarist... Elyssa traveled w/ Aerosmith and allegedly caused a lot of friction backstage. 'Sweet emotion' was Steven Tyler fuming at everything Elyssa was doing in the Aerosmith camp.
    By 1978, the bickering between Steven & Joe had spread to the other members of Aerosmith... and their wives & gf's were all traveling w/ the band on tour (It didn't help when Steven Tyler married Elyssa's friend Cyrinda)... In 1979, Elyssa and Terry (bassist Tom Hamilton's wife) got into a fight backstage before an Aerosmith show, and as a result, the entire band blew up at Joe and his wife Elyssa... so Joe Perry quit Aerosmith that night and began a solo career.
    Aerosmith tried w/ a new guitarist Jimmy Crespo in 1979, but their fans kept asking for Joe Perry... In the meantime, Joe Perry started a solo band, the Joe Perry Project. But Joe could not find success as a solo artist... Eventually, he & Elyssa had a son, but the marriage fell apart. Drug and alcohol abuse was rampant in both Aerosmith's and Joe Perry's camps.
    Thankfully, Steven & Joe were able to reconcile by 1984 (both had got divorced by that point) and reunited Aerosmith. It took a few years before they could get sober and made a commercially successful Aerosmith record in 1987.

    In a first, I don't know what my favorite song of theirs is. I liked "Rag Doll" a lot back in the day but I don't think there's an official video on TH-cam. They had one album, _Pink_ , that I liked a lot of the songs on, especially "Taste of India" . But yeah, they've got so many great songs it's hard to choose. Steven & Joe (Aerosmith) are very much an alternate version of Mick & Keith (the Rolling Stones).

    Just so you youngsters know, I'm over 60 so I can call you that, the line about "you can't catch me cause the rabbit done died" is a reference to the old style pregnancy test. In the days before the blue strips, the doctor's would inject a rabbit with the woman's blood, and if the rabbit died she was pregnant. Aerosmith always has very interesting and usually sexually driven lyrics, Steven Tyler is like that, always on the hunt for something new. Saw them for the first time about three weeks after this album, Toys In The Attic, was released, in 1975, and about ten times after that, they rule. Their first four albums are their best stuff, old Aerosmith is the best Aerosmith.

    If you listened to "Walk This Way" with Run DMC you really should listen to the original version of the song too (Aerosmith in the 70s by themselves) to hear what we were listening to in the 70s. I don't know about anyone else but having lived with the original for about 10-20 years, I thought the Run DMC version sucked when it came out in the 80s or 90s (whenever it came out). You may not agree with me but you should hear the original version.

    I so feel bad for you young people today. Music is nothing like this any more, and it's just sad what passes for "music". Great music stopped mid to late 90's with a few exceptions. The real crappy part is, to see a great band live in 87' would cost ~ $15 ( I think that's what I payed to go see Motley Crue / Guns and Roses (just before they became huge) on the "Girls, Girls, Girls" tour that had Tommy's spinning drum kit ). To see the Crue, Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett today ( all be it a wonderful show I'm sure ) starts at ~ $200 and keeps going depending on what "package" you want to buy. I know they have to make money, and records don't sell like they use to, but when adjusted for inflation, that same ~$15 would be ~$38 today. No where near $200. I hate it too, because I would so be there, again, and see them for the 5th time! I've bought every album, bought all the books (some twice to get them on audiobook) and seen them through "Too Fast for Love", "Shout at the Devil", "Girls, Girls, Girls" and "Dr. Feelgood". I would love for my wife and daughter to see them too, but not when it would cost more than a car payment to go! Just sad days man!
