Visit lecturesnippets... for the full post. In this video I join a Windows 10 computer to the Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain I have been creating in this series.
Note if you get an error message... Make sure you change your primary DNS settings to the Domain Controller's IP address... IPv4 adapter settings (Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections > Properties under Ethernet)
You copy everything you have on your desktop to a folder on the root of C:, then restore after the computer has joined a domain. Remember folder downloads, pictures, documents ++
My Windows 10 does not allow me to join a Domain; when I get to the Computer Name/Domains box, it only allows me to change the computer name, the rest is locked.help?
How about GPOs? My home server is 2008, and all of the current clients are still on 7. I know most of the GPO's will still take affect, but is there anything in particular I need to account for when adding a Win10 workstation to the network?
youre not showing the steps to get to joining the domain. like how to setup the DHCP server and scope and configuring the TCP/IP on the client to be able to join.

Hello! I have a question. I am currently connected to my school's domain but i would like to upgrade to windows 10 but i cannot while i'm still in the domain. On my domain account i have all those school applications and i was wondering, that if i disconnected my computer from the domain if it would delete all of the apps that was on that domain account. Please help and soon, windows 10 won't be free for much longer, i could of given the computer to the IT, but the lady is just nasty and it will cost money since you have to back it up and stuff, soo yeah. Thanks! :)
I hope you can help me out with this one. I have joined a Win10 to a domain but when the user logs in it says you aren't signed in. It logs them into a temp profile which in turn means all data saved onto that account will be deleted after in logs off. Any ideas on how to log in as usual like in Win7?

The title specifies Windows 10; however, you are using Windows 8 in your demonstration and the GUI has differences, this is not very helpful.
+Brian Fisher This was the Windows 10 Preview before it was actually released.
how to able to still login using domain account even offline/LAN cable is not connected?
Did he (the person in the video) forget to tell us the DNS manager and ip address to set in ipV4 dialog in order to do this properly?
probably we have to setup ip adress 1st, then we go to the existing domain. .
Yes, first point the machine to the server IP
This applies to Win 10 Pro only, if you have Home edition it won't work

Sounds like a corrupt user profile
