Andrew Neils new show on Chanel 4 was disappointing, I was hoping for something similar to his This week show with Michael Portillo but it was more like his election grilling of politicians. He chose Jacob Rees Mogg to compare and harangue against the cost of living ‘crisis” and in the process hardly let him get a word in. Hopefully now hes stamped his macho knowledge on us he will improve to give us more than his own populist views!
Andrew Neil did bash Channel 4, calling them Guardian supporting left wing channel. And then he joins them. Channel 4 must be very forgiving, to give Andrew a slot on their channel, after all he bashed them about.
@@deepzepp4176 Andrew Neil left wing? Are you mad? Do you not know this man? Do some research, he is not left wing. His mentor was Rupert Murdoch. He worked for the Murdoch empire.
@@johnking5174 Yeah, he is left-wing. You are clearly stuck in the whole - Tories vs Labour, The Daily Mail vs The Guardian. Grow up. He’s just an establishment hack. He would work for anyone as long as it guaranteed him, and that piece of Shredded Wheat on his head, got on TV.
I have a feeling that Neil edges the line which most politicians are happy with and so isn't granted the true elite station that his broadcasting ability deserves. The Boris fiasco is key evidence for that - Boris was so terrified of fumbling the interview with Neil that he just flat out refused. Although he did pay a price for it - people saw his cowardice and noted it. So it's difficult for major broadcasters to use Neil as the senior politicians of our time are just horrified at the prospect of facing him. The other point relates to Murdoch, the Murdoch-neil relationship ended badly and Neil has publically (even published a book about it) condemned Murdoch. I think he's made a miscalculation here. He thinks it will endear him to the British establishment which is generally hostile to Murdoch; but it's actually opened him up to accusations of unprofessionalism. If you publish details of your relationship with a former boss at a high level; nobody will want to work with you. After all, can you trust that your conversations are truly private or will they be revealed in a few years time? Neil languished doing a late night political show for years before he got anywhere near a top billing in the 2010s. It's not surprise that Neil's first interview is with Mogg, a politician of perhaps 20th century convictions who is happy to defend the record of the government in the face of hostile questioning.

He is left-wing, that’s why they wanted him and that’s why he joined.

Politics in my mind, is not a Sunday topic. Irrespective of presenter quality.

He got an 80-seat majority a few weeks later, so it obviously didn't. 90% of people probably didn't even know.
Nobody cares about Andrew Neil. He’s a nobody with low intelligence.
Oh dear. How the mighty have fallen. The GB News fiasco really showed that ultimately Neil is a bit of a fake. I lost all respect for him.
Interesting Gaussian blur there
Cleaned the lens with a brillo pad.

Why is GBN so awful?
