I don't agree that DECA should release their countermeasures though since hackers would avoid and know to work around them (if DECA even has suitable countermeasures). Also doesn't DECA get more $$ from the hacking whales than new players? I assume that is the reason they don't address it.
Hi man. I've played this game on off for a total of like 20 hours past like 8 years lol. But now I've got like 50 hours in a short amount of time and I'm having a great time playing it. Once I grasped all basic concepts and learned some deaths on fresh 20 chars it was a breeze for me to 8/8 my current char without hacks. Even when I died earlier it was to some facetank mages in Shatt. However, when I learned about hacks, I got interested in what they do. Fast time skip, I'm hacking with auto-nexus and auto-aim/auto-ability. Why auto-nexus? I think permadeath is a very fun thing. However, once you are past certain age you don't want your time getting wasted by some design made specifcally for it. When I'm almost 30, I gladly trade time for pride. You also want to avoid frustration from bullshit deaths. Auto-aim -- here I'm on the big edge. It's super powerful, especially on melee classes and with slow-projectile weapons. But it kills the fun. I'm thinking about stopping using it. However, playing melee in this game is so fking annoying I doubt I will stop (samurai here). We'll see. Auto-ability is pure convenience, it doesn't matter for me at all and I could disable it anytime. What I love about RotMG it's that it isn't competetive. I understand someone who put 8k hours into game can get irritated by hackers. However, for casual, newer players it's just fun. I don't even know how do you get exaltations much faster with these hacks. I never went into o3, and probably never will. I don't care about playing with other hackers or abusing anything else that I mentioned. I just hate the fact I can't get gear upgrades at all from current content (stuck at t12/t6/t12/t5 gear) and O3 is gated so much. I don't want joining discords or guilds as I treat this game purely casually. So all I have left is lucky UT/ST drops for my class. Perhaps if O3 wasn't that much more profitable while not being widely accessible hackers wouldn't find it so tempting to gatekeep it. Idk. All in all, I'm sorry that I'm hacking I guess, but I gave you my reasons.

I think they should prefer to fix the hacks that effect other ppl also and then get the bots out(which theyve been trying to tho). Also to add there was few years ago those fake clients that stole your account and ppl had to go to deca get their chars back etc. yet no one of those ppl were banned even tho it was quite clear case. Then again i think its a good thing. Bans like VAC bans are too extreme and in pve game it really could be just few months away from game.

Just right here in your description you are endorsing the altering of game mechanics and a way to make the game just a slither easier. Breaking the ToS is just simply where Deca puts the line. But to me it seems like you’re more upset over people making the game easy for themselves rather than the breakage of the ToS. So with that said, you're no better than a hacker.
the main point i made in the video was that gamers affect the player base directly, so it's past the point of it just "making the game easy for themselves." auto-nexus literally breaks the core mechanic of the game, because it literally just removes you from any dangerous situation without any skill from your end. reducing your opacity to me is on an utterly different level. it isn't "doing" anything for you, as in nexusing for you when you're low or aiming for you. i wouldn't consider auto nexus as being a hack though. Most of the time you can just nexus by pressing a key, auto nexus only prevents you from being instakilled if there's a lag spike or something.
Its a permadeath game. When one uses autonexus, they take away a fundamental aspect of the game while also giving themselves an advantage over other players. How is that not a hack?
