Siiiiiiiis I literally came across your videos in my recommendations like 10 days ago and have been binge watching you, your so down to earth which is hard to find! I hope you have the best time in London x
This is SUCH a useful video! I wonder sometimes if I’ll end up in a teeny tiny place like this. But I chalk it up as the price I have to pay if I move to a foreign country sometimes.! Very useful to see how people decorate their small spaces. I love it.
Yea, that's quite an adjustment with the space, but you seemed to make it work since its only temporary. Enjoying all your videos and learning alot at the same time. Thanks for sharing.
Aww your room is so cute girl, reminds me of my room when I was an undergrad, the loft thing is so cool I haven’t actually seen that at the universities here. Also everything is small in the UK 😭 I’m used to it but I guess it’ll take a bit adjusting to since you’ve come from such a big country. Your uni room is what you make it tbh even though it’s small adding your own touch to make it homely is so key which I can see you’ve done. I hope you’re enjoying yourself so far, London is really great especially as a black person, as time goes on you’ll meet more and more black people, there are loads of events, clubs, house parties etc that predominantly people of colour go to, try and ask around, if it interests you. I hope you have a wonderful year, London really is a great city, small but lit 😘
As a black person growing up here, London does not feel great at all. The racism is covert and the people are fake and have a way of hinting at your inferiority
Kay O I guess we’ve had two different experiences then, not denying racism exists no way but the good out way the bad for me by far, life is really what you make it over here, you can have a shit time or you can have an amazing one
I'm literally moving to London in September for my masters in international marketing and I've been binge watching your videos! They are so informative and I love them! thank you sooo much ! Did you film the video about the visa situation btw? I was searching for it haha
I do the postcard thing too! I have one of those scratch maps in my second bedroom/office and I pin the cards around it and started writing little notes and the dates on the cards! I'll be in London in April and can't wait to add to my collection
I definately understand you wanting your stuff with you! I lived in uni halls when i went to school in 2013 and i remember keeping my kitchen utensils in my room too cos you never know with a shared kitchen. People use your stuff without cleaning or break your stuff.. or your stuff even gets missing
I am an American and lived in Devonport house too! I was there for two years. I lived in the highest most flat my first year the faced uni, then down to the same type you were in with the split level during the summer and then to the flats that were on King William walk. Not fun moving every term, but nice being across the street from uni.
If I were you, I’d put the coat rack under the stairs, and put the desk under the window, the fridge next to the desk, and I’d put all the shoes on the floor so that all the things in the windowsill can go in the book shelves...
I don't know if you've lived in uni accommodation but the table is most likely fixed to the wall. She's working with the space she's got and I think she did a pretty good job
Nia not saying she did a bad job, I just gave her my advice just as I would give to my own friends and family members. She doesn’t have to follow up on what I said. ☺️
Hi, my daughter will be going to greenwich university soon and we were wondering how you got such a nice accommodation? Are there many options for lofts or just a few? Great video, thanks :)
Love the post card memory idea. Sooo cute!.... umm ma'am, where do you actually store your books since you opted for a shoe shelf?! 😂😂 too funny!... I'm years late, just found your channel, kudos 👍🏾
hey which greenwich campus are you staying in?(like Cutty Sark Hall/Daniel Defoe Hall/ Devonport House/Mc Millan Student Village?) I'm wondering which one I should pick.
Hey Paige! I’m aiming to have a room in these particular halls of res later on this year when I start my MA and just wondered if you could tell me if it’s relatively quiet in the building? I’m craving some peace!
@@PaigeMariah lol😄..u said u fell on ur butt several xs... lol id have to figure out another way down! Aint gone b 2 many xs imma keep falling.. lol🙆🏾♀️
Hi Carlie, for several reasons really...it was affordable. London is very expensive, so if I rented, I would still be in a flat share where I have my own room but share a kitchen and most likely a bathroom as well. I kind of prefer living with people who attend my university rather than other random people. I'm a couple min walking distance from my classes. It was honestly just the best option for me when I did pros and cons. Everyone in my hall is actually in grad school as well. 😊
Hello from Kansas, I was wondering if your bed area ceiling is high or low I really couldnt tell just wondered, careful with those stairs,I love watching your channel and seeing a place I never been to be displayed so beautifully, may God continually bless your endeavors ❤
Hey Paige! Where the hangers provided by the school or is that also something you had to purchase as well? Also will you have this room the entire year, or will you have to find somewhere else to stay during the summer break and then get a new room upon return?
hey! no I bought my own hangers. they only provided the furniture. I started in January so I'll actually have classes in the summer. I had to apply for summer housing and I'll be able to stay in the same room
Paige Mariah yeaaaaa idk why I asked about the hangers seeing as how you bought your own pots and pans lmao, my bad for that dumb question. & dangggg, why the summer session? Is that a result of starting in January or your program require it? Also what’s the size of your room?
Hello, I must say your videos are really helpful. I wanted to ask, how can I get your type of accommodation. The modern one and not the older ones. Is it possible to choose, or they give randomly after applying. Thanks
Hi there, I am looking to apply for a room at Devonport House for this fall semester, but I cannot figure out the rooms. Could you tell me which type of room you have? There are 6 types listed, and since yours has steps it would have to be either the Ladder Standard Room or Ladder Standard + Room.
hey there! so the official name for this room is "Devonport Mezzanine Std Plus" There was a ladder option but I didn't choose that option because I preferred the steps (was afraid I would fall lol). I hope this helps!
@@PaigeMariah Wow, thank you so much, that is incredibly helpful. I completely understand the fear of falling, I am Queen of the Klutz here: broken foot last year walking up the stairs!! I am thinking they may not have any of those rooms left since the Mezzanine wasn't an option listed, but still helpful to know so I don't accidentally sign up to get a room with a ladder!!
I just started following you and I LOVE your videos!! I am just wondering, how did you find a room, does it cost more to have your own room and was it expensive ?
Thanks so much! I just chose the postgraduate accommodation available at my university. I paid a £176.33 a week. You can find the full price list for this accommodation here. www.gre.ac.uk/accommodation/accommodation-at-greenwich/devonport-house

I think you have a very cute space. I thought you had to share a bathroom but having private makes it so much better. Hopefully Mickey Mouse has disappeared btw.
Thank you for the tour. Be careful with thise stairs. Ypu don't wanna know how many times I've fell down mine 😩 bathroom definitely bigger that airplane bathroom...nut probably close to a Private Jet bath 😉💜

I like the loft bedroom idea, it's cute!. Reminds me of those little Japanese flats with the loft bedrooms.
thank you!!
It's cute girl. Good you got an ensuite. Because sharing bathrooms ain't the one. Don't know how Americans deal with room mates.
