Watching from Carol Stream, Illinois USA. Erica, you are really a good teacher especially with your 2 growing so fast kids. I bet Ricky is so proud and grateful he married you after waiting for 10years of non-commitment. I am 81 y/o and I am following your vlogs. I see that Dana and Jio have grown so fast. keep up the good work in the family and bring up your children with Christian values and morals
Awesome job Erica! Just like you, I didn’t realize that I loved teaching. Thank you Erica for your selfless service to these children. You reminded me of my first year in the Navy. After Boot Camp in 1976, I was assigned to a supply ship in Japan that spent more time in the Philippines than Japan. Many crewmembers asked if the Navy could send a college professor to teach Tagalog on the ship but there was none in the Navy, therefore, they recommended to recruit someone from the crew to voluntarily teach Tagalog. About 15% of the crew was Filipinos, but no one dared to volunteer. I only finished high school, and I thought of it as an opportunity to make a difference, so I volunteered (although I was the most junior the crew) . I went to National Bookstore in Manila and bought 60 Basic Tagalog book. I had 60 students (divided into 3 groups of 20) and I spent my free time teaching. There were a few of these sailors who became conversationally fluent and married their Filipina girlfriends. I taught English to private Japanese students while I was assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo (1994-99) and two students asked me to teach them Tagalog. I was hired (part-time) by Toshiba Corporation to teach English to their International Division Staff (6 years), and on weekends, I taught at four campuses of Gregg International School. I was able to help two lawyers (graduates of Tokyo University) to get accepted at Harvard University to pursue their Masters Degree.
What a great experience Erica ang galing mo palang magturo pwede ka nang mag teach sa South Korea. In the US, Tagalog is the 4th most spoken language that’s why many universities such as Yale are offering Tagalog courses.
Erica should be a teacher. She has the patience and she knows how to get the kids to listen. The kids were really interested in learning about Philippines. Good job, Erica! 😊
You have the making of a good and fun teacher in the kindergarten with your happy disposition, gentle way of speaking, patience and fluency in both languages, Korean and English. And you have a very good methodology in presenting your lesson through multi-ntelligences and group dynamics techniques. Congratulations teacher Erika!
You can be a great kindergarten teacher! You speak and teach with an animated voice and facial expression which can get the children’s attention. You’ve covered interesting things about the Philippines. Wearing a Filipiniana was nice too. You did very well. 👍🏼
I'm an elementary teacher here in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines, kinder kids are not easy to handle but you got their attention the whole time. Indeed you are effective teacher! 💪
Happy Tengkers & World Teacher's Day October 5, 2024, Mam Erica T. Parks ,Congrat's you also qualified as a Primary Teacher, Thank's for sharing Phil-Kor Culture's, I think you can also teach in Secondary and College
Stay happy and healthy, Park family. ❤❤❤
You did well, “Teacher Erica”. 👍👏😊 I can relate to you; I volunteer often in activities at my child’s school (ex. Parents’ Day in the Classroom), and the principal and faculty appreciate it when their students’ parents are very participative.
I had a lot of fun watching you, Erica, teaching the kids. Their reactions are so cute and precious. They obviously enjoyed learning about our culture. You could be a great teacher, Erica. You are awesome as always! 🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
wow! the kids seems to have idea about the Philippines already.. and are very eager to know more about our country.. To Erica your effort to teach is very appreciated.. kudos! 👏
There is one girl & one boy who knows a little about the PH. When Erica said, in the PH we love hugging & kissing on the checks, one kid squirmed feeling disgusted or something.. One kid said, he will never go to the PH ( I guess to avoid the hugging & kissing) . Funny children..
Oh, you seems to be a professional Teacher Mam Erica. You really can explain very well and you can get the attention of the kids knowing that this stage or she of these kids are very playful. Salute to you❤️🇵🇭
Wonderful! So nice of you to volunteer, Erica. Here in the US, I teach my 2 grandchildren to bless or mano. Which I find very good custom. My 2 children weren't able to practice that. They just kiss instead. My youngest daughter & her husband, who is half Pinoy, are more interested in learning more Filipino ways, things & the language.
We want to congratulate you Erica. On your excellent performance on your teaching the second grader.regarding the Philippines. And teaching Jio and Dana at home showing them about the Philippines.
You have very good rapport with students; the activities and your line up of questions and style of questioning are engaging. Well done!🙌👏👏Have you considered being a teacher?
Fun interacting with kids! Because they don't have any racial discriminations and prejudices yet unlike grown ups and adults who have prejudices and discriminations
You did a really good job Erica! You got the kids’ attention and they enjoyed your class😍🥰You may consider teaching there, too coz you’re fluent in Korean and English👍🤗
