TNG fits soooo well with the Magnum concept! The handsome, genial lead, the stiff Brittish guy, the big teddy bear muscle guy, and the man with information!
Makes sense for Patrick Stewart to take on the Higgins role, since Higgins technically outranked Magnum, being the majordomo of the Robin Master estate. Another parallel: John Hillerman was a Texan playing an Englishman, whereas Patrick Stewart is an Englishman playing a Frenchman. Not sure what to make of Worf and Data as T.C. and Rick, though. Here's a real esoteric parallel for you: Denise Crosby as Mac, who like Tasha Yar was killed off, and then brought back in an episode as another character who Magnum suspects is Mac after faking his death. IIRC there was an episode where Magnum was forced to shoot & kill a lover at the end, just like Riker did in "The Vengeance Factor." I think it was the one where Sharon Stone guest-starred? I don't fully remember. Of course, all these parallels I've noticed have led me to one conclusion: I watched way too much prime-time TV as a kid.

0:27 Picard's face was like, "What do you mean 'ALSO starring'??"
I only wish more people could see and get this. A perfect recreation
This is fantastic! I love Picard as Higgins!
Now Higgy baby!
I wish I could like this multiple times! Hilarious!
Love the ending mimicking Sellecks wink to the camera in the original
Brilliant love it 👍😂
Oh my god this is beautiful! I want a Knight Rider one now😅
I giggled the whole time.
This deserves more views

Picard would make a great Higgins
😂...just...🤣..just genius
Shouldn’t the actor playing Worf be credited as Michael E. Dorn?
Solid
