    I was surprised to see you giving the Pumpkins some love! This pedal seems like a really good value. I use the thorpy fallout cloud for my fuzz tones. It has similar EQ settings, but costs almost double. I would definitely give this pedal a go. By the way, if you really want to bridge the gap to get pumpkin tones, you gotta slap a flanger or phaser on there... especially if it's stereo, it starts to give you that big multitrack feel! Anyway, I'm super hyped to see you doing some pumpkins, and I think you did it justice! I guess my comment is a bit late, but Happy New Year either way!

      Glad you enjoyed the vid and fear not, some phaser related SP content coming very soon! Thanks for the kind words, I've got a few SP lessons already but more planned :-) I'm a big fan of Thorpy's stuff too, it's premium gear but incredible quality. I've got a demo of the Field Marshall which is one of my fave fuzz pedals. HNY to you too!

    Nice sounding pedal, Stone Deaf make some super versatile stuff. I actually think the EHX Big Muff Op Amp does the Siamese Dream thing a bit better to these ears (I think you did a vid on this a while back), but there's nowt wrong with this! Kudos for the tee too, "Ooteenee!" 👌

    • @LetsPlayAll
      @LetsPlayAll  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Neill, yea I love my Big Muff Op Amp, it literally is that album sound. I A/B'd the tone i use on that pedal with this one for the Siamese Dream stuff and it's really close, I love the built in noise gate on this one, plus the EQ does a crazy amount of stuff. Cheers!

    • @Dito.Gancini

    For Pumpkins tunes the EH orange op amp pedal is by far the best through a JCM 800- or 900. It’s my go to pedal for a lot of stuff because it just sounds amazing. If you don’t have one Matt definitely pick one up. This pedal sounds pretty good though. I absolutely love early Pumpkins with Butch Vig producing.

      @@LetsPlayAll I'm definitely impressed with this pedal. If I wasn't such a big muff ehx lover I would definitely own one. The one thing that the fig fumb has that the big muff doesn't is more features. I think it would be a fun pedal to own along with a big muff

    Hey Matt, besides the noise gate, how would you compare this to the Hungry Beaver?

    • @LetsPlayAll
      @LetsPlayAll  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Despite them being based on Big Muff circuits they're quite different pedals tbh so hard to compare them like for like. Both have controls that take some getting used to but the inclusion of a noise gate is a superb feature in the Fig Fumb. The HB will do a wider range of fuzz from big muff to that spitty fuzz and the mids boost is a great feature. There's a new version of the HB coming out (due to lack of available parts, but Marc's redesigned it) so worth checking that out. For the budget conscious, the HB is excellent value. Really depends what you're after, both are great pedals.

  • @metalsnake3557

    Hi I'm Snake. I'm really interested in this pedal but I own a deluxe big muff pi. Should I buy the fig fumb or save my money?

    • @LetsPlayAll
      @LetsPlayAll  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man, depends how much you love Big Muffs really 😀 This one based on a big muff circuit but you get a wide ranging eq and a noise gate. I’ve got a few big muffs, the Hungry Beaver from soundlad is excellent too, but if you’ve already got a deluxe big muff then it’d be potentially for marginal gain.

  • @denenige
    @denenige ปีที่แล้ว

    I feel the sound is missing too much high mids and highs. Compare this with the clip where Corgan plays the Op Amp big muff.
