    Solid video! Those boards look really nice and I bet it feels great to ride. I should try out longboarding sometime.

    That’s a great review. I just got my Wiggler and am waiting on parts to arrive from various places. Can’t wait to try it out

    Another great pumper review. After using the Genesis for a while, if you only had one choice of deck between the Bossa LDP42 & the Genesis, which would you choose & why?

    Great video and thoughts! I'm excited to try long distance pumping setups, and all the pantheon options look amazing. I am in love with my Pantheon Trip!

      I don’t think there is a Pantheon deck that isn’t extremely well thought out. The Genesis is a very good deck for LDP, and it would make for a perfect introductory set-up. It complements the Trip in your quiver.

    I'm looking for a distance pumping board. I plan to do pumping as a cardio workout. Not sure if I should get the genesis over the wiggler because as you said, it's easier to pump the wiggler. Easier means 'less of a workout' for the same distance traveled?

      Hi Linh! Sorry for the slow reply. Yes I probably meant easier as in more efficient/less effort expended. The Genesis is more fun for me. Sirfier sort of vibe and more flowing, but still efficient. The feeling changes from top mount to drop bracket board when you are pumping. There is nothing quite like the feeling of a dialed-in top mount in my opinion. It boils down to whether you plan to push a lot. If one is pushing far, it is way easier in my opinion on a drop deck, whether it is a bracket board or a standard double drop like the Trip or Pranayama.

    Hello! I am thinking of getting the Bandito or the Wiggler…I am leaning towards the Bandito…I ride the Gbomb Juggernaut a I like to REALLY dig into my pumps…the Wiggler looks as though it flexes too much…
    And what paddle do you suggest for a person that already knows how to pump pretty well? And do you use the paddle from each side? Or is it like switch foot , which I cannot do :( ?

      Hi there! Sorry for the slow reply. I like your thinking regarding Bandito vs. Wiggler. The Wiggler is more versatile in terms of options: topmount pumper, ultra-long wheelbase, medium wheel base. But at least at my weight the longest length allows for too much flex to really dig in to pumps. But you can still use shorter wheelbase as a bracket deck and try it as a top mount. For me, I find that moving trucks around on any of these boards isn’t such a fun and easy experience. While it is entirely doable, it isn’t the sort of thing I would want to do very often. So unless I was going a trip where I could only bring one board to fill multiple roles, I just don’t see adjusting the Wiggler to use the top mount option. As to paddles, I really like the one I have from Hamboards. I would recommend an adjustable one so you can use it on different height boards and also it may take a while to figure out what length you prefer. I like to paddle from each side and switch up my stance periodically though I default to regular stance and paddling on my right side as most comfortable.

    J’aimerai savoir, pour pumper, est-ce mieux avoir votre pied vis a vis le truck ( Genesis) ou le truck à l’avant de la planche (wiggler), bref,lequel est le plus facile a pumper. Merci beaucoup.

    Hey!
    I was going to get into topmount pumpers after skating platform setups for years now, saw you had a Gen 1 Mermaid on hand and was wondering what you thought about it maybe compared to more recent topmounts like the Genesis?
    Because I found an old Gen 1 Mermaid for sale but I want to weigh my options too!

      Sorry for the very slow reply… I’m sure you picked your deck but I would saw you can’t go wrong really. I would be happy with either deck, assuming the Mermaid still had some life left in it. The Genesis is nicely dialed in with wheel cutouts and a huge amount of room for front foot placement. But both decks function very well. My Mermaid is a little more flexible which I kind of like, but really it is a subtle difference.

    Originally, I was planning on the bandito. I'm 5'4" 110 lbs, and my shoe size is womens' 7.5 US, so the board size is not a problem for me. But seeing the bandito side by side with the longer boards makes me think than I'd get the best value out of the longer boards. Thanks for making the video. Your channel is awesome 👍.

      That’s a tough choice, but you can’t go wrong in my opinion. There is nothing wasted on the Bandito. It is purpose built for efficiency with no wasted real estate on the deck. All that you need and nothing you don’t. But at your size, the Wiggler would let you use all of the wheelbase if you wanted to and the ability to top mount it(should you choose to do so) might add versatility. But you can’t go too wrong in my opinion!

    Hi, would you go for the pantheon genesis or bossa ldp 42 for long distance?

    • @easternshoreadventures2596
      @easternshoreadventures2596  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a tough one. I wouldn’t throw either one out of my quiver. I have put way more time on my Bossa, but I love all the Pantheon boards. Depends on whether you want/need more flex in your board. I find the flex more “fun” myself, but that isn’t to say the Genesis isn’t fun too. It’s just pretty stiff in comparison.

    Nice - thanks for the in depth coverage! I ride a homebuilt baltic birch topmount with DT poppys and a lot of wedge / dewedge. Super tall board, deck is around the shape and size of the mermaid. I currently like to pump but I want to learn to kick switch so I've been considering a lower board to learn on, but I'm afraid of deck bite like you got. Did you end up shortening the wheelbase at all? Also, how's uphill pumping on the Wiggler compared to the Genesis? I've always wondered if hills are just no-go for bracket boards or if they have a "low gear" like topmount pumpers tend to have. One of these days I have to try paddling. Awesome content, looking forward to checking out more of your videos.

      Hi erich- thanks for watching. As to your wheelbase question, I did end up moving the rear TTX forward two sets of holes. I still get occasional deck bite but only rarely and not with typical pumping. I may be able to bring it forward a little more still before the wheels hit the back of the deck, but I think that would be close. Starting on a Subsonic pulse, I learned to pump after a knee injury forced me to stop running, and I had no previous longboarding experience. So for many years, I never learned to push properly. Last year, I tried a double drop deck (Pranayama) and forced myself to learn to push more effectively and get better at riding switch stance (goofy in my case). I found that I enjoyed the pushing more than I thought I would. This is a long way of saying that I no longer try to pump uphill. It is harder to pump uphill anyway on any sort of dropped board due to the loss of leverage over the trucks. But also, a dropped deck is so easy to push I find I naturally choose the most efficient way to propel the board which is likely pushing when I encounter any sort of hill. Your mileage may of course vary but that has been my experience. As my pushing on a dropped deck improved, it carried over to improved pushing on a topmount pumper as well. I now feel more capable pushing on my topmounts, though it will never feel as comfortable as on a lower double drop deck. One tip I had heard and will pass along with learning to ride switch is to start off every ride on your switch foot. If you can’t be comfortable starting off switch at low speed, you certainly won’t be switching over to that side once you’re going faster. After a while, it becomes closer to feeling “normal”.

    how do you like the wiggler compared to the bandito?

  • @CylerH
    @CylerH 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I know this video is fairly old, but I was wondering if you’re thinking about posting a 2 year review like you did for the wiggler? I’d be curious to hear what your thoughts are, provided you still have it after two years. Regardless, thanks for the initial impressions, I’m looking for a new board and trying to find everything I can.
