Ankalaev has good wrestling but he’s not a great submission artist. He’s also very susceptible to leg kicks. Alex is a better striker, and is the favorite to win. If ankalaev does win, it will most likely be by split decision after hugging Alex for 5 rounds. I would be shocked by ankalaev gets a submission or KO.

All I hear from mma channels is how much Alex shouldn’t move up and fight Aspinall but as a fan of the sport, that is the fight I think I want more than any other fight right now. The story of the first potential 3 division champ is more intriguing than any storyline the UFC currently has going on at the moment in my opinion.

Glover was the perfect mentor for him. I see him winning the hw belt someday. Hes already the goat in combat sports, if he wins a 3rd belt in mma hes the ufc goat. We are witnessing history.

Ankalaev is the tuffest matchup for pereira stylisticwise. But Pereira already said he wants to fight him. It will be a very interesting fight because ankalaev is a striker that has excellent wrestling. But we saw in the Jan fight that when he was being outclassed on the feet he quickly went to the wrestling. And Jan took Alex down multiple times.

Ankalaev is the best fight for the division. It's a hard fight for Pereira for the ground game that ankalaev brings but just a rimender of what Blachowicz did to ankalaev's leg, just imagine what poatan can make to that

After Alex beat hill, Ankalaev is the only one that makes sense. Their both kickboxers, it'll be a great match. Let Rakic and Hill fight, and put Jiri against Jan or Krylov in Europe

I think this might be an amazing showcase of Pereiras grappling (or anti-grappling) potential, that's if Ankalaev doesn't want to do what everyone else does and fight him in in strength just to prove a point rather than use strategy, if he treats it like the initial rounds with Jan then there's most likely no chance. Nonetheless, it'd show a potential of how well he deals with grappling and gauge how well he'd potentially transition to Aspinall.
Ankalaev was offered the UFC 300 spot but refused. Pereira team is already waiting this confrontation

My take is, give Alex whoever he wants.. I don't think many people care about Uncle Iev, so whoever Alex wants, is the fight to make. I don't think Tom will be really excited about fighting the light heavyweight champ, but if he would agree to it, make it happen

I think if we're talking business for PPV points, considering Uncle-Aef and Aspinall are both bad matchups due to grappling, I'd rather have Alex fight Aspinall, who has a bigger fan base than Uncle-Aef, for the not-so-interim title and see if we get our first 3 weight champ, which would sell a lot of PPV and fill up stadiums or wherever they want to have the fight. If he wins you can then use that as a sells point for future fighters, but if he loses he goes back with whatever shine he still has to the LHW side to attempt defending there

Alex, Izzy and Gane only need to focus on and Improve their takedown defense. Because their kickboxing skills are already at a elite level. These grapplers and wrestles are making the sport boring. If they do that, then they put them to sleep quick. Being well rounded Is not necessary. Well rounded fighters are overrated and they become almost helpess against elite strikers with great takedown defense.
