Hey hey man. Finally got it set up. I’m having an issue getting the input drive (Cush drive) cover to stay down. Have u had that issue yet at all?

I used the PNW rc madness upgrade kit. Gives you bolts and nuts to go all the way through so the plastic threads don’t pull out.

Is that 8mm Bow House spur shaft 8mm all the way through or does it step down to stock size in order to use the stock gearing? Or a better way to ask is, R U able to use the stock input gear with the 8mm bow house shaft?

I’m pretty positive the stock is 5mm and won’t fit. I bought the 8mm specifically for the belt drive on PNWs suggestion.

My favorite mount is the bow house big bore mount with the rising spacers- 1.5 mod gears with HW 56118 motor- strappes the motor down perfectly and cradles it!!! Not sure how much adjustment need for belt drive though?

Sounds like a nice set up! It’s pretty high in the mount with the two big pulleys.

In my opinion a sliding motor mount with screws at the side would be much easier to install. Do you plan to install a rear motor support for this big can? When you jump with the car, the load on the engine mount and the chassis is otherwise immense.

I agree something like the m2c mount would give the most adjustability. I love their products I just wish they would anodize! I was ordering the belt drive from PNW and just went with his mount since I knew it would work and keep most of it in one order. Yes I am looking into a 3d printed support and will probably stick some high density foam under it for now till I get the support.

@@sarversrc The Vitavon V3 Mount and the MMM from Germany are currently the best, I prefer Vitavon because its made out one peace alu (no screws). Best adjustment goes to MMM. Dont use something 3d printed for motor support, thats to weak and you need not only a holder at the buttom but also on the top. Look at the Vitavon motor support for the XRT, thats the correct way for that big and heavy motor.

I’ll look into it! I appreciate the advice. Was hoping a 3d print to support the end of the can would be enough. M2c makes support shims but looks like they only work with their mount.

@@sarversrc The M2C solution is only at the bottom of the motor, not good.

I found the vitavon one you mentioned, and also found a knockoff one on eBay for half the price. Might have to go the route your talking about.

Can someone please tell me the advantage of a belt drive

No more shredded gears, specially if you start shredding the expensive aftermarket ones. Belts are dang near indestructible. If you do manage to break or wear one out, they are only like $15.
