Hey mate how is the movement on this quick release? I have the older dnd quick release, did one track day on it and its floppy as anything, tempted to change to this bit worried about similar build quality issues.
We haven't experienced that issue thankfully. Also installed one in our buddy's Miata (a more detailed video on that is up on the channel) and he hasn't had any issues either.
I know you didn't need the horn in this install. But for anyone watching that wants the horn button functional, it won't work if you remove the clockspring...
Thanks! I saw that too. I imagine it would squeak like crazy! You can mod the clockspring wire so that the hub will fit, then you can remove the brass ring altogether (it pops out) and feed the stock horn wire through. Very nice Exo, by the way! I have race chassis 247. Exact same color scheme. :)
They are just amazing cars! Harder to get in and out of than the sport chassis but I have a teenager that drives it and wanted the full cage. Ours is not set up to be a race car, but something unique to have fun in and bring to car shows.
What a waste.... expensive ass shit just to not hook up the horn... I'm guessing you gave an airbag light on to. All you had to do was make metal bracket... the horn wire hooks up to it... then you screw it in to one of the clock spring holes and it makes contact with the back of the hub... and the airbag is even easier... you buy a 2.2 ohm resistor.... which is like 5 cents. And you stick both ends into the airbag harness...or connect the two ends to the two wires from the airbag harness...
No airbag light because we are running a custom stand alone ECU :) The horn wasn't working when we bought the exocet so we didn't spend the time to investigate why because you don't need one for racing 😉 in this video we install the same wheel in our buddy's miata and hook up the horn and deactivate the airbag light 🙃 th-cam.com/video/IIlmvAbsL6g/w-d-xo.html
