rewatch the the part protagonist got glasses knock out. It reminds me that the designer Shigenori Soejima put that glasses on him is to hide his sharp edgy eyes and make him a little be clumsy in normal states. That glasses is actually his “mask” in real world.
Watching them back to make made me realise that for everybody else, their shadows were part of themselves as their own eyes briefly turn yellow during their awakening. Futaba and Futaba alone confronts and accepts her shadow as a separate entity Persona 4 style
I like the EN voices especially for p5 (that one scene in strikers with ryuji) but JP is the best way to experience persona for me, the jokes also land a lot better, it helps me keep my japanese sharp too
Not only does her Shadow transform into her Persona, but her transformation sequence isn’t painful, because she accepted her true self fully. Just like all the Investigation Team of Persona 4.

I still find it interesting that when they do stuff like P4G or P5R they always seem to make the introduced new girl in the game the canon ship between the MCs, hell even the P4G anime did that with Yu and Marie
@edmg7 there kinda is, in each game there is at least one girl who is most pushed in base game and then the waifu they add in the extended version gets pushed as well. P3 had Yukari and Aigis (who's SL was added in FES), P4 was Rise and Marie, P5 was Makoto and Sumi

Regarding the girls unique to the rerelease versions,I understand the need to prop them up to even have a chance at competing with those that aren’t even if after Hashino’s moving on, Kazuhisa Wada lets business compel him to do so to an unhealthy extent as that would also explain if he abandons the Lovers for the Priestess, but the Aeon will outlive the Fool and switching to the Faith doesn’t help since the Personas specific to it are reassigned to the Star Arcana in its absence, not the Aeon
To be fair, doing Marie's stuff makes it even *more* apparent that Marie is "meant" to be Yu's primary love interest (not that it has to *last* mind you...) especially since P4G *lets Vanilla P4 remain canon* if you dont do the Golden stuff. Probably why P4G will be my favorite of the "Re-releases" solely because it creates its own scenario where even if you dont do the "golden" stuff properly, its *in its own plotline* that the "golden" stuff didnt *have* to have happened. For those who want to know: If you do P4G "properly" and do all the stuff with Marie, you find out that Marie's existence is in flux due to being an unexpected (and unwanted) fragment of Izanami-no-Mikoto. It explains itself that ultimately, unless you pursue her directly, "Marie" gets "forgotten" about, vanishing out of existence, as if she never was there to begin with. Its as if the stuff with her never happened. Since all of it was *side events* anyway. This allows for P4 Vanilla, to remain a possible "canon" version, as Marie ceases to exist in any capacity, to such a level even *Izanami Herself* forgets she existed. If you do it all the way through though, she retains herself as a "reborn" fragment of Izanami, with power over the weather, taking on the name "Mariko Kusumi", and getting a job as a weather reporter. Where she will brazenly decide what the weather is going to be. The reason why its ironic, is because Yu awakens with Izanagi as his original persona, Izanagi, is Izanami's husband, and the one who sealed the path to Yomi, the land of the Dead, trapping a pissed off Izanami. Izanagi and Izanami ended up having a *very* messy Divorce. Marie gets revealed to be an unexpected fragment of Izanami (one that even Izanami herself wasnt expecting to exist) and if you romance her, its literally a case of "the ex's get back together", since while Marie doesnt *fully recall* everything about being Izanami, she's aware that she is a part of the Goddess, and while Yu *isnt* Izanagi himself, he's the closest thing. So basically, reincarnated Ex's get back together in their second shot at life because the guy stops being an untrusting dickbag. Seriously, Izanami's only so pissed off cause Izanagi didnt trust her to be following him out of Yomi, and flipped out when he saw she was a rotting corpse rather than his beautiful wife, and left her behind, when she needed him to guide her to freedom.

Seeing these for the first time made me realize how similar Joker's voice is in both versions. It's uncanny.
I played every game I had that has the option to hear the original voice lines and it was worth it, because you don't always see the makers vision.
