You'd need to submit press to prove notability, from publications along the lines of Time, Forbes, CNN, Rolling Stone etc. If you don't have any ID then I'm not sure that it'll work for you, unfortunately, that seems non-negotiable. - C

So essentially you need to prove that what you do is significant enough to warrant verification. A good comparison is a Wikipedia page. Mine says this “Your account wasn’t verified because it’s fewer than 180 days old. You can submit another request in 30 days.” I haven’t gotten this one before I usually just get that I don’t meet criteria. So does this mean that I have finally met criteria and will be receiving verification badge when the 180 days is complete?

OK. Looks like it’s pretty much the same process as Facebook. However, we have been unable to get Facebook to verify our account. We have over 150,000 fans on our trademarked clothing brand. They used to only ask for articles of incorporation which we have always provided and they always said that they were unable to verify. We also provided a copy of our trademark that is on file with US PTO. I saw recently that they also asked for links and such so we provided those as well. We have found multiple pages on Facebook pretending to be us and using our profile photo. So it is imperative that we get a verified account with this number of fans that we have. Any idea what else we could do here? We have followed all of the steps and have a pretty substantial following on Facebook already. Not sure why they keep saying that they cannot verify our identity after providing the articles of incorporation and the trademark.
I found this: facebook.com/help/1288173394636262. So just like Instagram, Facebook requires the brand to be notable and uses things like a Wikipedia page and multiple organic major press pieces for proof. If there's an open field where you can provide links to fake accounts pretending to be you, that could be helpful to get this across the line. - C

Best bet is to work with a publicist to generate the major press pieces they require, along with a Wikipedia page. The verified profiles elsewhere don't really mean a lot for some reason, they're good supporting evidence but you really do need to prove your notability via press predominantly. - C

Mine says this “Your account wasn’t verified because it’s fewer than 180 days old. You can submit another request in 30 days.” I haven’t gotten this one before I usually just get that I don’t meet criteria. So does this mean that I have finally met criteria and will be receiving verification badge when the 180 days is complete?
It seems like you'll need to request again, it doesn't read like a guarantee of verification. As long as you have your 5 links of major press pieces, you're in with a decent chance. Thanks for watching! - C

Hi Mariia, so you only need to submit 5, I'd suggest submitting the 5 biggest ones. They want to see globally-recognized publications (Forbes, CNN, Time etc) so avoid any small outlets and focus on the large ones. Good luck! - C

Hi, we actually haven't used Meta Verified (this video is about notable verification) but I imagine you'd provide a credit card when you sign up, which could be the one on file for ads, that would make a lot of sense actually - C

From our understanding, you need to prove notability, not that you do a certain thing. They want to see 5 links to major, globally-recognized press, so just include those next time you apply. - C

The followers and other verified profiles don't seem to count for as much, but I'd still suggest including the verified FB page link in the 5 links just in case it's helpful (put it last). - C

OK. Looks like it’s pretty much the same process as Facebook. However, we have been unable to get Facebook to verify our account. We have over 150,000 fans on our trademarked clothing brand. They used to only ask for articles of incorporation which we have always provided and they always said that they were unable to verify. We also provided a copy of our trademark that is on file with US PTO. I saw recently that they also asked for links and such so we provided those as well. We have found multiple pages on Facebook pretending to be us and using our profile photo. So it is imperative that we get a verified account with this number of fans that we have. Any idea what else we could do here? We have followed all of the steps and have a pretty substantial following on Facebook already. Not sure why they keep saying that they cannot verify our identity after providing the articles of incorporation and the trademark.
I found this: facebook.com/help/1288173394636262. So just like Instagram, Facebook requires the brand to be notable and uses things like a Wikipedia page and multiple organic major press pieces for proof. If there's an open field where you can provide links to fake accounts pretending to be you, that could be helpful to get this across the line. - C

Best bet is to work with a publicist to generate the major press pieces they require, along with a Wikipedia page. The verified profiles elsewhere don't really mean a lot for some reason, they're good supporting evidence but you really do need to prove your notability via press predominantly. - C
