Wow I never thought flute could really sound this good in a jazz band. Im really impressed
Flutes were pretty popular in jazz groups back in the late fifties/early sixties. There are always people who can make their instrument sound special. A good arranger helps greatly. Yeah, I have great respect for arrangers.
Mr. Norbert Nagel is a master on the flute, that's for sure. He also plays a sweet clarinet. Very Talented!! SYLVIA! 5/12/21

Sad but America has turn its back on it's own original music--jazz. it's nice to see other countries EMBRACING jazz.
The USA hasn't really turned away from jazz. Many of the U.S. jazz masters became unofficial ambassadors of jazz and went to play in other countries. We "exported" the seeds of jazz and WOW! the musicians in other countries picked it up, adopted it, learned how free they could be playing this way. And damn, many of them are GOOD at it. One of our best exports.
The Europeans know how to recapture the music. This Thilo Wolff guy is the shit. Love it all.

Goodness, I love this stuff!!! Want to purchase this!! It's encouraging to see jazz and Big Band is still alive. Does anyone know if Wolf recorded this and if so what album is it on?
