It's a peculiar Thing: Disney songs can make you crying and smiling at the same time. But they'll never hurt you. They always cheer you up. And you feel like a child again. But thats a good feeling. We should always be a child again sometimes. :-)
I think Sierra found the role of a lifetime in Ariel-She brought such pathos and sincerity to Ariel that makes you really sympathize with her and you can see yourselves in her
I love little mermaid and this has become my absolute FAVORITE song Sierra does such a beautiful job with it. I think this song is amazing because it shows what is going on in everyone's head and its just soo AMAZING i would do anything to see it live
I never thought that Sierra (or this show for that matter) got the acclaim that it deserved....it's a shame too because Sierra was really commited to this role and she really has both the wide eyed innocence of a child, but also is a rebellious young filly, something that is not easy to play those kinds of roles....I believe Sierra deserved a huge medal for doing this show!
Yeah. This is the song that got the largest emotional rise out of me from the new songs. I play this for EVERYONE I know who is willing to listen. It showcases Sierra so well and Norm Lewis as Triton? Dear lord...that voice could melt anyone. Thank you for this upload.
That is definetley not Emmy Rossum! It's the wonderful Sierra Boggess who originated the role of Ariel on Broadway & will be creating the role of Christine in the sequel to Phantom- Love Never Dies. With all due respect while Emmy is a great actress couldn't handle this score. She's a mezzo & her voice was meant for Easy-Listening music. Sierra is a full-fledged Light Lyric soprano who can not only perform in Coloratura roles but can produce an incredible belt. Her range is meant for stage roles
they aren't in the movies because they are written AFTER the movie is made... they aren't cut, they are written specifically for a stage production. i honestly don't think this would be that great in the movie. some things are just better for the stage. i don't think you would get the same kind of emotion from it if it had been in the film.
The person who recorded this didn't know Sean wasn't going to be performing that day. But even if he's not in it, they got the rest of the principal cast.
Thank you so much for posting this!!!!! This was my favorite song of the show but when I saw it the other actress had taken over. I got to see Sierra Boggess!!!! YAY ME!!!!
I must say when I got the song I seriously could not find where King Triton came in because I thought it was Eric singing, I was shocked to hear that amazing voice come out of him
@71crm I agree with you in regards to the show. I thought it was so entertaining & creativley put togther. I think the critics were just too biased ever since they saw The Lion King. Not that there's anything wrong with that show. I love TLK! As for Sierra. She was nominated for several theatre awards including the Drama League & Drama Desk. award. Plus she won Broadway.com's Breakthrough Performance Award. Not bad for a Broadway debut. And she might even be nominated for Love Never Dies. :)
Sierra is the new Christine!? That's SO awesome!! That's an excellent casting choice. And yes, i agree. Emmy is a decent actress but her voice was really strained in Phantom.
This song is so beautiful, and I think everyone, including Brett does a good job. Don't get me wrong, I like Sean, but I also like Brett. Sierra has a really beautiful voice too, she's a really great Ariel. :)
Yes this is Sierra giving a beautiful performance of this moving song. It's one of my favorites. Titus and Norm are incredible too! But I have to admit Bret leaves much to be desired. Although he's a great actor, his vocals are not on par with his co-stars. He sounds like he's ill.
Why does the Prince have blond hair? He isnt supposed to! I dont care if hes an understudy or not. Prince Charming always has dark brown hair. And dont mind me saying this but the audience was rude. Private conversations going on when on of the most beautiful songs is going on.

71crm Yes. I agree with you. In addition, her voice is really the voice of an Angel.
She was the perfect choice!
I love little mermaid and this has become my absolute FAVORITE song

"i'd give my life up to make it happen" - gets me every time. This so is so beautifully written (and performed)!

sierra boggess= amazing talent, gorgeous, and straight up awesome!
favorite song of the whole show. LOVE!
Her voice is astonishingly perfect. And she's sooo beautiful!
TLM is amazing, saw it and instantly fell in love with the music and reaffirmed my love for the characters and/or hatred if you count ursula

This song makes me cry.
Gaah! I'm crying right now!!!!
Sierra Boggess is toooooo amazing

This is such a beautiful song... Another musical has gained my obsession :)
Thank you so much for posting this!!!!! This was my favorite song of the show but when I saw it the other actress had taken over. I got to see Sierra Boggess!!!! YAY ME!!!!
have just so fallen in love with this show that I really want to play Ariel. I hope there will be a chance to perform the role in London or wherever
Hey.
She is Ariel.
She would be the best drawer in the world.
Because she is Ariel.
Coming from someone who has seen this play both with Sean Palmer and with Brett as Prince Eric, Brett's voice can not even compete with Sean's.
i love this part in the show...it gave me goosebumps! I saw it on broadway last july...a year and 5 days to be exact.
I must say when I got the song I seriously could not find where King Triton came in because I thought it was Eric singing, I was shocked to hear that amazing voice come out of him
I know what you mean. I finally got to see it before it closed and haven't stopped listening to the soundtrack.
Beautiful...
i saw the play last week and it was amazing. the new Ariel is hot!!!
OMG! I knew about this musical but I'd never heard this before!! I nearly cried in the end... this is amazing!
wow this is simply beautiful
the quartet is beautiful!!! It almost made me cry!

I beg to differ.
But yes, she is absolutely amazing.
Sierra is AMAZING!!!
@MISSBarbie88 No, but your close, it's Sierra Boggess....both have played Christine in Phantom
WONDERFUL!
Sierra is the new Christine!? That's SO awesome!! That's an excellent casting choice. And yes, i agree. Emmy is a decent actress but her voice was really strained in Phantom.
Um, does Sebastian realize that Ariel is not really just a "little mermaid?" She is a princess, after all...
@shortbutstrong sierra originated the role of christine in the las vegas production of phantom as well.
I wish I could see this again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song is so beautiful, and I think everyone, including Brett does a good job. Don't get me wrong, I like Sean, but I also like Brett. Sierra has a really beautiful voice too, she's a really great Ariel. :)
I love this!! So beautiful it makes me want to cry
Triton is phenominal, but i personally like him as Javert in Les Miserables.... :)
I like Jodie Benson, but she wouldnt have worked out for this.
Sierra is amazing for this roll
do you have the full version of this? only denver is on youtube, but at lunt fontanne there were changes that made it better
I'm so sad. I'm going to NYC on the 2nd of Setpember... and TLM is closing on the 30th of August... Boo urns.
Ursula too.
It is.
NO!! It's closed already??? Damn it! :'(
Don't forget to change name on studrec

Do you have the whole show for trade??
Sierra Boggess>>>>>>
It's an understudy, I think. But's it's weird....he looks like Belle's Prince.
who is playing eric in this video?
I want her voice... :(
Where did this song take place?
Who is this? Is it Sierra?
Why is this the Prince Eric understudy and not Sean Palmer...
Why couldn’t Sierra be cast as Ariel in little mermaid remake she would have been perfect I don’t care could’ve they use some D aging on her
That's not Sean Palmer is it?
The Little Mermaid is closing? :(
Wait, I lied. Not him.
2010
Why does the Prince have blond hair? He isnt supposed to! I dont care if hes an understudy or not. Prince Charming always has dark brown hair.

This Eric's hair annoys me :|
I think the blond hair on the prince looks terrible. it needs to be black!!! Eric's hair is BLACK.....(pouts in a corner)
That was the under study. The OFFICIAL boradway prince Eric has black hair
Broadway*
BlinkinFirefly Actually he has black hair ,you can see blond hair because he's under the spotlight.
BlinkinFirefly If they got Eric's hair wrong, why give Ariel that horrible wig that doesn't suit her
It's the spotlight you guys
yeah sean is way better than this guy::DDD
I hope NOT!!! He sucks!
why is prince eric blonde. man, thats annoying
this eric kinda blows. too high pitched and annoying
