Ugh I can’t wait to be debt free, I’m a single mom of 3 kiddos- 8,6,3… and I’m working hard to pay my debt off. It’s definitely tough to tell no to my kids right now on everything they want to buy lol but I also make sure to explain to them my situation with money right now and trying to teach them to never be in my spot when they’re older, and the importance of money…. But I’m almost there 😊 like Dave says it’s only for a season.. I’m excited to almost be at the finish line 🎉

It's been nine months that I've been following Ramsey advice. In that time I had to dip into my emergency fund to replace a dead 22 yo washing machine. But I had cash, got one on sale, started to rebuild the fund again. In October I will be fully funded and can pound down debt...one credit card left. Projecting forward, I will be debt free, full tithe paying, no mortgage or car payment free. I already have noticed a lift in my spirits and this past week sprang a leak in the ice water line, damage to floor in the kitchen, mold, but am not stressing. Max repairs will be $200, drying everything out, killing mold and putting the LVP flooring back and my son is doing the repairs. God is good. And I will be debt free, building next 6-9 months emergency fund. Thanks to Ramsey team.

And this comment, "A lot of people stay in lives of quiet desperation...because they're mortgaged up to the hilt." Side note: the Tag Monaco is so nice looking. Good choice Mr. Brooks! It just seems to big for my wrist. EDM here and nearly weird, hoping to make BS7 within 2 years.

Great episode George and Arthur!! I happen to be in a position to be speaking to people regularly, every week, who are located in an objectively "terrible" place. Yet, they have worked hard to understand the concept of focusing on their own lives, not everything that is happening around them that they cannot control. They can be happy. I think they are "happier" than many people in our legacy western countries that are supposed to be 1st world in all respects.
This concept, so difficult for so many, is perhaps the most important thing a person can learn about controlling their emotions and owning their lives as much as possible, IMO.

Id like to share One of my proudest parent moments. My son was 18 years old, living at home just starting collage. He was reciving a £30 a week educational support allowance. He loged into his online bank and then shouted me into the room. MUM, MUM Come look at this. On the screen was an offer from his bank, at the click of a button they would lone him £3,000.00 doped straight into his account right now. My response, Trust me you don't want it. His replay made me so happy. You bet I dont want it. What idiot would lend me £3,000.00. I only get £30 a week, thats just crazy.
That was 20 years ago and I am still so proud of him. Owns his own car, house and everything in it. No debt, now saving towards early retirement. 😊

I am not personally religious and *absolutely* agree with the segment on giving. You should feel *privileged* to give and if you don't trust the process of tithing, you *should* find a new church, or a different method of tithing. Find a charity that speaks to you. Donate food and supplies for disaster relief, homeless, otherwise needy. Ignore the numbers and volunteer your time, even...but never continue repeating an action that makes you uneasy without correcting what makes you uncomfortable about it. You know when your church officials are missappropriating the church's money. Don't ignore and resent it.

the single most dangerous obstacle to building wealth is DEBT. Not surprisingly, debt has been promoted as, and largely embraced as , a perfectly normal part of life. For marketers, it is a powerful tool. It allows them to sell their product and services far more easily, and for more money ,than if they didn't exist. Think about it, do you think that college education would cost over $100,000 if it were not for the readily available student loans? If you intend to achieve financial freedom, you should avoid any kind of debt or find a way to get rid of already incurred debt. Getting out of debt sounds pretty easy on paper, but it's a lot harder than it looks. I learnt the hard way.

Well, what makes me an outlier I guess! I am 57 year-old English immigrant, with zero interest in tech or stocks, and yet I am 110% committed to Bitcoin. I would describe myself as an extreme conservative/libertarian. I have been involved in UK politics for some time, and the main thing that drove me to study Bitcoin and ultimately recognise its value to Humanity was the threat posed by an over-weening government, first in the UK and lately in the US also. I regard the CBDC as the final brick in the wall of the totalitarian prison the world's governments are building for us. And Bitcoin is the ultimate defence against a tyrannical government.r.....I've been engaged in active trading and managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 24Bitcoin....I'm especially grateful to Sandy Barclays, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Brooke Miller.

I'm surprised that you just mentioned and recommended Brooke Miller, I met her at a conference in 2018 and we have been working together ever since.

The very first time we tried, we invested $1000 and after a week, we received $5500. That really helped us a lot to pay up our bills.

Credit cards on not totally evil. If you pay off the balance each month, you are OK.
If someone hacks your debit card, you will have considerable trouble getting the bank to reimburse you. With a credit card, the credit card company will refund your money. Lastly, credit cards can also serve as receipts for tax purposes.

I stopped using a debit card as it got compromised and I lost 1k. Bank would not refund me. I use cash when I have it or a CC and pay it off at the end of billing cycle. I dont spend what I dont have. If its a big purchase I save up then use the cc and then pay it off.

My bank was able to charge back a purchase from a company that refused to ship the product as fraudulent 2 months after the original charge.
They called me immediately when I had fraudulent charges. The money that was charged was immediately refunded.
      The trick.
I bank with a small regional bank and a small regional credit union.
Both have customer service that is AMAZING.
I'll never do business with the national banks ever again. They are terrible.
