I said it once and I'll say it again: I like that Corridor Digital actually treats the security force like they're actual people instead of faceless, disposable goons. They operate well as a unit, they only resort to lethal force when it appears they've lost two of their own, and even when they have the thieves at gunpoint, their priority is still recovery the device, not any sort of needlessly vindictive acts of cruelty.
I think you're just looking too much into the fact that if they had the security team go lethal from the start, the protags would be dead. They're not fighters, they're unarmed. The only way to have them win was to make the security team play non-lethal so that they could take their weapons.
Even now as I'm older I come to the realizations that while yes the story is all over the place, and the protags are evil, its still one helluva live action short, and to this day the combat scene still looks legit af
It occurs to me that those kids were totally the bad guys in this. We were never shown anything that suggests that Blackwell and his company killed innocent people, and Blackwell himself initially tried to keep his guard from hurting them, if only to protect PRISM. The kids however, Broke into a convention, stole a piece of presumably valuable equipment from blackwell, and then killed scores of Blackwell's men, albeit in self-defense (I.E. were far from innocent at any point in the film.)
As much as the opposition here works under a rather cliché capitalist corporation mantra it is still hard to sympathize with the supposed protagonists when all they're doing is regurgitate the vandal gimmick.
i agree with joe winter because the man and the woman main characters were stealing and killing if that makes them good then the definition of good and bad were switched
The guards only started shooting after they saw the two guards on the ground. Imagine it from their perspective; two unidentified people broke in and stole a piece of valuable equipment, and the first two guards are on the ground, not moving. The only irresponsible moment was when the CEO knocked out his own guards and joined the fight, even though the guards had successfully deescalated the situation without hurting the suspects.
Darian Poffenroth That CEO was given far from full knowledge of the situation before he came in. Even that is hard to define as bad. Seriously, this video is supposed to have us sympathize with common criminals. I think they widely missed the mark with this one.
Lamo, no good guys? How is the inventor a bad guy?! He is trying getting his property back! Unless this is some, "I'm jealous of rich people so anyone with money is automatically bad in my eyes" kind of thing.
Rather than just get his property back or turn the thieves over to the authorities the inventor decides to 'have some fun', beat on a couple of kids and throw them off buildings. If you think that's the actions of a good guy I think you have a skewed sense of morality.
Yeah, because beating up some kids is way more incriminating than stealing a companies flagship work and shooting up guards. The law does not obligate one to grovel to the LE for help if you have the means to defend your property and life. That kind of logic is like those brainwashed idiots on the "news" that defend BLM criminals who get shot because they were "poor little children" who "didn't do nuffin". Ignoring the fact that prior to getting shot they were committing a crime including trying to fight an officer. Something is up with society where we protect criminals and incriminate the victims.
Incriminating? No. Psychotic? Yes. He wasn't just trying to beat them up he was trying to kill them with his bare hands after calling off his guards (who would just have shot them which would have been far to quick) and taking them somewhere where he could kill them slowly without witnesses. But sure, lets call him the good guy...
These guards actually looks cool, did you considered putting those masks, and especially the one of the commander (with the black stripe) in your webshop?
It reminded of half life 2 because the normal ones had masks with 2 eyes and had normal smgs but the white ones had a mask with 1 eye and had that pulse launcher thing.
Imagine if this was a game, and what happened in this video was only the first mission, and the fight at the end was the first boss fight. I would play that any day!
Neither groups are the protagonist nor antagonist. This is art, you can see it in any way you want. This could mean something deep or nothing at all depending on who you are and your experiences in your life.
Geez, finally. I've been searching for ages for a video where the faceless goons are the good guys while the good-looking leads are the villains. And finally, I find it. And with excellent production values, too. And to anyone who doubts it, yes: the security team members are the good guys. They do everything in their power to non-lethally apprehend a pair of thieves of a ridiculously dangerous technology and only turn to lethal force once it appears two of their numbers have been killed.
Ok, yes guys, the protagonists are bad guys. They stole and killed from a corporation, and escaped in the end. So what? This is a short film meant for entertainment, not to teach morals. I think too many people are focusing in the morals and not the effects. Compared to other videos Corridor has posted, the effects were pretty good here. Not a big fan of the blue laser gun towards the end, and the falling sequence coulda been better, but otherwise nice job. Dialogue wasn't bad either, hope to see longer videos like this from you guys
You know, I think it's because people are afraid of these kind of things influencing people, like Miley Cyrus on 12 year old girls. It kind of does take the fun out of things, movies can show us bending the rules of life where we can't do it in reality, and it's amazing to watch, but some people are afraid that other people actually believe this can happen. Well, this is just in my opinion, probably not the only reason but a suggestion. It's pretty good actually, CorridorDigital should do more of these.
john krick Morals are part of the plot. Plot is also a part of "entertainment", without plot the special effect wouldn't have as much influence as they have. I am unable to enjoy a short which wants me to sympathize with a pair of childish murderers. ***** Neither do them. They didn't steal from them and kill their people because of any reaosn other than having fun (well, at least the stealing part, killing was just a consequence of it). It would be more acceptable if they had a viable reason for doing it.
I love this short film so much! Since the day it was released on corridor it is one of my absolute favorites of them and I strangely keep on recalling it maybe once or twice a year and come back to watch - so NEVER delete this, you hear me Corridor dudes!? Also very inspiring!

A protagonist can be good or bad, do good or bad things and either be the heroes they are in most stories or simple thieves like they are in this. I found it a little interesting to be rooting for a protagonist who is not the stereotypical good guy, it was like choosing between two evils, with these two thieves being the lesser since I can guess that Blackwell had committed murder at some point to protect his company's interests-I base this on how damned good at it and how willing he was to commit it.

Sound, visuals, fx, props and, to a certain, concepting are all excellent. However, I think that the acting and dialogue are seriously poor. It doen't seem all that natural comes across as forced and breaks immersion. Anyone else with opinions on this?

Is it just me or are the commentators on this video forgetting that this kind of film is what Corridor Digital do. Who cares if the main characters come across as evil? It's still a great show. The VFX are spotless and there is this whole mystery around who everyone is and what the device is made for. You can't create a seamless story in 10 minutes, but this gives enough intrigue for me to want to see Episode 2! :D
Come back to this project and complete the story! Everything you guys have learned since the release of this project. Kickstarter for Prism 2? I think the support is there! +1 here
You never seen or played a classic where a young person looking for adventure gets caught into trouble, those are some of the best movies and/or games.
While the CEO guy was kind of stupid for just teleporting in and ruining the chances of getting his thing back, because his guys did actually have the situation under control to an extent, that teleportation backhand was something beautiful to witness.

This is a 8 minute video, did you expect it to be as good as a 2 hour movie ?
no u
The girl is totally HOT
I’ve never seen this video but I’m glad they brought it up in the new corridor crew video. It was pretty good
whoever the girl was, she was attractive.

Peter Habicht wow

Where is she on the pecking order?
@corridordigital hey question you know the guy with the "laser rifle"was that a polar star airsoft rifle or nerf
Nerf rifle
repainted Nerf firefly
I brought hitfilm 3 pro a while back and I'm no professional video editor but for forever I've wanted to make videos like this, have any tips?
You guys should make an entire movie and I absolutely love all of your videos and if you could tell me what effect software you're using I might be able to make a video (inspired by you :D) T HANK U SO MUCH!!!!!!
They used hitfilm ultimate and i think after effects
Pls tell me name of movie
5:46 Most awesome drop ever. Great music, guys. Keep it coming.
Make more of these prism videos I still watch this video 7 years later
Is it just me or are the commentators on this video forgetting that this kind of film is what Corridor Digital do. Who cares if the main characters come across as evil? It's still a great show. The VFX are spotless and there is this whole mystery around who everyone is and what the device is made for. You can't create a seamless story in 10 minutes, but this gives enough intrigue for me to want to see Episode 2! :D
Does anyone know how they manipulated the voices for the soldiers to sound more tinny, robotic like?
Now THIS should be made into a full-length film.
I've always been more partial to using special effects over visual effects. But you guys kick ass with your CG stuff.
At 0:48, it's definitely still illegal if you don't get caught. But, you're not in trouble unless your caught. I've learned this from Aladdin!
It's crazy how everything holds up 13 years later
Would love to see this be a full length indie!
Amazing movie! I would love to do what you do! I love making short movies, but this is my dream. You guys did great! :D
Good shit. Would make for a cool "The Fugitive"-style series.
5:58 Is that the CS6 (Nerf Gun) from Dubstep Guns?
Come back to this project and complete the story! Everything you guys have learned since the release of this project. Kickstarter for Prism 2? I think the support is there! +1 here
This.... was the most amazing thing I've ever seen!!!!! I love it!
And also, that is going to be my new motto: It's not illegal until you get caught.
@5:30 mark why the hell do you have bullet proof armor if a pistol does that?
finds a secret high tec devise that could possibaly be used for evil, desides to play with it like its an air guitar. God damnit
You never seen or played a classic where a young person looking for adventure gets caught into trouble, those are some of the best movies and/or games.
So much better than Hollywood! I love the atmosphere, the music and the cut!
While the CEO guy was kind of stupid for just teleporting in and ruining the chances of getting his thing back, because his guys did actually have the situation under control to an extent, that teleportation backhand was something beautiful to witness.
That was awesome guys!! I seriously wish I could've be apart of that..
Girl: I guess it’s not illegal if you don’t get caught
Boy: I like the way you think
The entire world: **visible confusion**
And you can’t keep not giving us part 2s
I love this, you guys should really think about a second one or even a series... something new from CD instead of just videos, make a nice little series or maybe just a trilogy of videos IDK.. this has some good potential.. gj
Love The music for this. Where can i find it?
still remains one of my favorite videos on TH-cam!
I like it, just wish they would make more videos to flesh out the storyline, similar to video game high, I could see this turning out to be a very interesting, multilevel, complex mini series if they decided to put the effort into the main of one
To be brutally honest, this is better than any REAL movie I've ever seen.
This reminds me of looper, great video with a sure amount of quality and effort. I'd watch the sequel anytime. :p
awww please more of it you guys are totally awesomeee >.<
i really would like to write a story for you to make, but i think no one would take it...
Nevermind. The songs are "Through the Night" and "In Fractures" and are available at Corridor Digital's Bandcamp page.
Was the shock troopers gun the gun used in the dubstep guns vid?
+CorridorDigital the blood is so ketchup!
I somehow have never seen this video before, but it came up in the recommended on your latest video SUPERPOSITION!
Teleporting bitch slap 😂😂😂😂 that fucking killed me
