as a veteran, I’ve known many amputees. They do like to make up ridiculous stories for how they lost their limbs and they change each time.
Some of the more notable stories:
I lost it hunting Arctic Crocodiles.
I lost it in a pillow fight.
A terrible knitting accident.
I got bored with them (double leg amputee).
I traded it for a 6th toe.
(Arm amputated at the shoulder) I lost it in a high stakes game of Snap.
A cake baking accident.
Must’ve been some intense pillow fight
I love when people without limbs, either amputee or people with phocomelia, fuck around with people and tell the most absurd stories of how they lost (in phocomelia's case "lost") their limbs.
I lost a finger back in 2014, I don't like sharing the story but I'll tell it one more time. While overseas during the service, Long story short, it involved a stripper, a sneeze, a very tight clinch, and bam, finger gone. Till this day I still have nightmares of that night.

My grandpa was a metal shop teacher and had lost his pinky finger many years prior. He used to tell his students he "accidentally cut it off with a hack saw".
Said he always knew which students were going to fail the class just by their reaction.
Theory: Jan’s pinky actually has the ability to grow back, but it keeps getting cut off, hence the multiple stories.

This legit made me cry. I lost my pinky finger on a bike accident 2 months ago and trying to accept this new reality sucks. I'm still not used of people seeing me without my finger because I feel this sudden fear that they will look at me disgusted or like I'm some sort of monster.
It's really beautiful to see how Jan managed to move on and not care about what people think about. Maybe I will eventually, who knows. I really wish i could have a prosthesis too.

You and me both. I’m constantly putting my hand in my pocket. I often tell ppl I’m missing my pinky finger before they notice so they won’t judge me if they were to notice first. It sucks.. And mine was cut off at the knuckle 😓. I don’t think I can get a prosthetic like his in the vid. If I could though I’d want all kinds lol We’re unique in our way. My friends don’t like to bring it up, but I’m always joking about it to make myself feel better. I can tell they’re uncomfortable when I talk about it, but it’s me now. I was thinking about getting a tattoo on my hand: “Gone Fishing” or a Bulldog playing with a finger and his tail as my nub lol
You are not a monster. You are a soldier. A brave individual who went through something horrible, but kept going. I hope that life has treated you well since that wretched day, and that’s the people around you are supposition you with every step.

This reminds me of when I was a kid and I would go in to get new foot braces. The person who fitted me had an eyepatch and a new story every time I saw him about how it happened. It wasn't until he felt that I was old enough that he told me he lost it in a work accident. Before he would swear that it was removed by a squirrel or that he used to be a pirate or something. Good guy.

The improvements I would personally make:
1. Make it look like an Adam Jensen pinky so black and gold polished.
2. Shorten the top bit to be symmetrical with his other hand.
3. Make the bracelet from black alcantara with a small metal wire for the connector to be attached to.
4. Lastly, rubberize the inside of the finger to enhanced the grip further.
Looks amazing though!
Probably put the join at the end of the stub rather than on top of it. The first join itself elongates the finger.
Add some rubber at the tip of the finger to help grip things
If he actually finds it as useful as it appears in the video, I'm sure a lot of modifications will come in the future.

This is by far my favorite Corridor video. I suspect he was born without it or lost it early in life as he mentions never having used certain muscles and his overall genuine reactions to having a left pinky for the first time. Bravo everyone 👏

He claim’s he’s “never” used the muscles associated with his pinky before, and that his pinky swear with Niko is “the first” pinky swear he’s ever done with his left hand. Everyone keeps asking how Jan lost his pinky but I don’t think he ever had one to begin with. Now some might think that I’m implying Jan had a birth defect that kept his pinky from growing, but I actually don’t believe that. I believe that Jan is the true primordial being, and that we were simply made in his image with but one crucial mistake; 10 full fingers instead 9 and 1/3. You may try to hide it Jan BUT I KNOW THE TRUTH!!!

Maybe, though I've heard that a lot of people who've lost ligaments/extremities say that they've just gotten so tired of being asked that they just start to have fun with the story.
Friend of mine used to have a pretty large scar on his elbow, but after being asked 100+ times he started making up plausible and impossible stories just to make it entertaining for himself.
Maybe they just don't wish to constantly repeat and relive their trauma. Idk.

Um, it was possible to make a bending lever on the palm side below the finger attachment instead of tying a string to the wrist. In this case, he would tuck and bend the artificial finger from above, and when unbending, he would return back with an elastic band.
There is also great lore concerning the loss of my pinky. I also do the finger in the brain trick Jan. I also freak kids out with the bent thumb and act like I'm pulling my finger off. It's great when they grab my hand and realize I'm not hiding my bent finger. I need a friend group that will 3D print me a bionic finger.
Plot twist: Wren never wanted to hear the story. Actually he is very good guy who legit wanted to help his friend.

If nobody told this before, if you want to create superior pinky get a cheap sla printer. It prints with uv resin ( there are rubber like ones ) and quality is insane ( 0.05mm layer height )

I heard he was climbing up Mount Everest and his buddy slipped and the only thing keeping him from sliding of the edge was a rope that was attached to Jens pinkie finger. He had saved his buddy but his finger lost all blood and was amputated, by chewing it off so the frostbite wouldn’t spread.
