Michael grew up as a jehovah witness, his mother was a strict jehovah witness and they would always read the Bible, hia father was not, seeing his older brothers having sex right next to him as a kid while he was asleep or trying to (most likely because of their father's influence) and witnessing his father cheat on his mother with several women at a young age... it was seen as a sin and it makes sense when you look at it that way as to why he felt guilty and disgusted, I'm not even a jehovah witness and I would feel the same way, I'm sure these experiences affected him emotionally when it came to relationships, not to mention all the rest about having to grow up too fast and not having had a childhood or love as a child and being abused by his father, he had a lot of trauma
