I started walking last month, from a sedentary lifestyle average 1200 steps a day, I started with the goal of 5k per day. I'm now in the middle of Week 4 and I'm averaging 10k steps each day!!!! I'm so proud of myself. I'm almost 40 and this is the only time I'm actually genuinely enjoying taking a walk.
For three years I walked five miles a day. For the next four years I walked seven miles a day. It's so great for your psyche, and it was my therapy and stress reliever. The past year has been terrible, losing my mom and brother and having two nieces suffer terrible accidents. I've fallen away from my epic daily walks, and I miss it. Over 27 days in May/June, I walked the Camino Portugués up the coasts of Portugal and Spain along with some add ons. I covered 280 miles and enjoyed it. It's time to get back outside daily. Thanks for the encouragement, and I hope you have continued. The time needed is doable as long as your family buys in. Inviting them to join you is smart. Good for bonding and stress relief.
Hi my friend, I’m so sorry to hear of your losses, truly. My sister passed this year so I empathize with you. I’m so glad to hear that you’ve gotten back at it and what a blessing you have such a beautiful place to walk 💕 I’m grateful you’re here, thank you for sharing.
I started walking 3 years ago when I semi retired. I had two total knee replacements so couldn’t run like I used to. I’m amazed by the results. I was already pretty active and an avid hiker and backpacker but I had still got the old man beer belly at 60. I was shocked by the results of doing 15 thousand steps a day. Lost 60 pounds and 6 inches off my waste and the mental benefits were a welcome surprise. Walk on!
Next time you do this (if there is a next time), let us know ahead of time and issue it as a challenge to join you. Holistically Christelle did that with a 30 Minutes a Day for 30 Days challenge. I walk regularly, but skip days when it’s too hot, too cold, too rainy, etc. Well, I was so inspired that not only did I take HC’s challenge, I walked for more than an hour each day for 100 days! You never know who you’ll inspire with your videos.
I loooooove your channel! This is the first video but you have such a sweet personality! I’m currently doing about 12k steps a day and I have a blister on my pinky toe. I hope I can get to 20k without any additional damage 😂
I started walking an hour a day for two weeks on nature trails. I do about 4 miles or 8 thousand steps. I also watched my calorie count. I went to bed early. I lost 5 lbs. I felt amazing mentally and physically. My anxiety and obcessive thoughts are gone.
Nice job! I have always walked the dog every day without fail, so that's about 5K steps, but recently started tracking and am trying to get 10K consistently. It's pretty hard to do working a corporate 8-5, but I think tracking is important because it makes you more aware. Now when I'm waiting 30 secs for a report to download, instead of picking up my phone, I walk around the house (I work from home). Every little bit helps! Happily, I'm retiring next month and looking forward to getting my steps every day!
I've been getting 20+ k steps for a while, I just start traking step though and you guys, I love it so much! God earth is so amazing He's literally a Creative Genius 😂
@erinmgiles questions: are your 20K steps cumulative throughout your day, or is this just the workout portion of your day? Also, any tips for blisters? I switched shoes and just got new blisters on different areas of my feet.😢
Here's a tip re shoes. Ease them in and don't wear them every day. Do maybe 5,000 steps in the new shoes and then change to the old ones. Increase it slowly and you'll break your shoes in well. I did a month-long hike this spring and the folks who hadn't broken in their spiffy new hiking shoes/boots suffered mightily. Trail runners typically last about 500 miles. Before a big trek I like to get at least 50-100 miles in on the new pair. Care for your feet and they'll make the whole journey possible.
Just started walking at least 45-60 minutes a day! I am definitely sleeping so much better. Random question…are those frownies you used on your forehead?! Thank you.
I been doing 40,000 steps a day for 3 months and I already lost 45 pounds and im going for more I do that on my treadmill I got the IFIT program it helps me along lot working out every single day no days off and diet works out
I started walking. I did 20,000 steps for almost 2 weeks straight. Didn’t lose any weight didn’t gain weight. Nothing ever happened. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’m getting tired of it. I worked very hard to see nothing happen. And before I did that I did 15,000 steps so for almost a whole month. Nothing happened.
I understand completely. I didn't see any weight loss or anything the first two weeks, it can definitely be discouraging. Keep doing something you enjoy!
On 3rd of aug in 2020 i somehow managed to to walk 45 km in ine day which was about 55k steps !! Now i imagne how many ladies are walking outside vlogging with poop in their pants 😂😂
Do you have a step goal or any wisdom/thoughts to share? Look forward to connecting with you! - Erin ✨

Great question! Cumulative :)
Yes! Castor oil was a huge help and I actually just put out a castor oil vid (my last upload), hope it helps!

I had never connected walking with EMDR. Maybe that’s why I feel amazing after a hike even if I’m exhausted.
Amazing, isn’t it? ✨

@@erinmgiles ok 👍🏻
Would recommend walking right after you eat !!! I think that should def help to loose any weight
What do you have your watch on that you can see the steps? I always have to go to the fitness or health app to see them!
Hi Kimberly! I click the rings on the watch and it will either show the steps there or scroll down a few times and it will pop up! Hope that helps ☺️
hi thanks for your videos and i would like to ask did you try to walk the 20000 one time ? if yes how many hours its take ?
It was throughout the day, but if I did it at one time it would have probably taken 3.5-4 hours. 🫠
Try rocking, walk with a weighted backpack. It’s a game changer. ❤
You know I’ve actually thought about it Gisel! Do you have a brand you like? And how much weight do you walk with? Thanks!
I watched a video about rucking. One tip, order several styles to try and return what doesn’t work for you,
Yeah, 20,000 steps a day is a lot. Takes a couple hours. So nice to do though!
Agreed!!
