      I get addicted to games - all I see these days is Patters - I'm not sure if I like it or hate it - it's patterns - it's Frequencies - it's the number of times a second it happens and it Hurtz when I ignore it.
      You're a smart guy - you're smarter than me - I saw the 13th times table was a war zone against me father, you saw it as another step Up - You're a smart guy - you're smarter than me.
      I have a problem ... issue is I can reproduce the effect of 9/11 clear enough that I can create an electronic Sculpture that when water Blasted clean is going to leave the numbers "9/11" made in an alloy that can't be made on earth - - - using Only the environment that was available on 9/11 and the important bit is I can re-produce it anywhere on the earth in any city in the earth or any Fly By Wire Computer controlled Aircraft system and I know another agent [US MIL] knows the same thing -
      I'd like a method to chat that doesn't have the rest of the world reading.

      +chycho I hope you see this, but as I was watching this video, I noticed something about this game.
      I know you mentioned that this game relies on symmetry, but as I watched how you placed your numbers, it looked VERY much like stitching. The game looks like a template for cross-stitching, and if you were to follow dot by dot, you would reach the end. much the same as Cross-Stitching works.
      This may add nothing to your knowledge on the game, but it seems like a nee perspective.
      You also said that it may be a good strategy to leave holes in the outside to jump across when you needed it. Very much like weaving.

    • @chycho
      @chycho  8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      +Green Dragon That's a great perspective, I hadn't thought about it that way. I actually did some stitch work, sewing, when I was a kid and loved it. It was hypnotic to me and now that you mention it, for sure, it definitely reminds me of that. Thanks for the connection :)

    I watch this video all the time for the ASMR. However, I've been wondering about something. Would it be possible to calculate the total number of valid complete grids, given the movement rules? Is it possible it's so challenging because the number of valid arrangements is quite small?

    • @chycho
      @chycho  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There has to be a way to do this but my math is not powerful enough to do. It would be a sort of "Knight's tour" type of play/math, but probably with more possibilities.

    Interesting the points system you mention at the end. I reckon it would be better if say you got 96... you get 4 points as it is 4 away from 100. Both players use this rule and whoever has the lowest total after all rounds is the winner. Just a suggestion :)

    • @chycho
      @chycho  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nice suggestion :) ... would have to modify it though to make sure it reflects the difficulty level, so maybe a multiple of two (exponential). So 100 = Zero points, 99=2, 98=4, 97=8, 96=16 and so on.

    Seems like a variation of the knight's tour problem, with a different movement pattern.
    Which makes this some form of Hamiltonian path problem.
    I wonder how many solutions there are, and how many solutions there are for different sized grids.

    I wonder if we can solve this in a way we can go from the number 100 to the number 1 with one move, thus making a sort of infinite loop. A bit like in the knight's tour puzzle...

  • @tigershav
    @tigershav 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What makes this game hard is the fact that 10 is not is
    divisble by 3. Maybe you could try solving as a 9x9 and making moves onto the 10th squares that, when you re-enter the 9x9 grid would have been a possible move from where you left the 9x9.. I don't know if I explained that well. I don't have time to play this game but I wish I could. :(

      For sure, you can do it with a 5x5 grid (25 boxes), and there are solutions for it. There is actually a method where you can break this grid into 4 parts and complete each one to give you a 10x10 (100 squares)

    I managed to make a 5*5 square grid starting in the middle and finished in a way so that I would start at the center of the next 5 by 5 matrix. Now ,since the grid can be rotated, as a consequence I created a multitude of ways to solve a 10 by 10 grid as well as any x by y grid where x and y is divisible by 5 ... and much more. Chycho if you are interested in solving this, chess theory may help you. Check out the Knight's Tour, which involves using a knight to move to every square on the chessboard once. There are infinite ways to do it, so long as a pattern is used. Also, keep in mind the symmetry of the 8x8 chessboard. Essentially it is a 4x4 grid arranged next to one another, meaning that any starting square you choose in one quarter has the same properties as in another quarter. Now in this 10x10 we can focus on a 5x5 quarter to identify starting squares which lead to easier patterns.
    Ill share a video to you soon with my ideas. I got to 98 on my best try.

    I hope you can solve the very popular puzzle from India.. This is called Shri Vijay Yantra based on 10x10 Board.
    All four corners are non-empty cells acquired by null (0) values..
    The Top row's 5th and 6th cells are again non-empty cells acquired by null (0) values...
    Similarly, 5th row has 1st cell, 5th and 6th and 10th Cells as non-empty acquired by null (0) values.. Similarly, 6th row has 1st cell, 5th and 6th and 10th Cells as non-empty acquired by null (0) values..
    The Bottom row's 5th and 6th cells are again non-empty cells acquired by null (0) values...
    Rest of the cells are empty and can be filled from 1 to 86 numbers and cannot be repeated.
    You cannot put any numbers in these non-empty cells.....
    |0| | | |0|0| | | |0|
    | | | | | | | | | | |
    | | | | | | | | | | |
    | | | | | | | | | | |

    | | | | | | | | | | |
    | | | | | | | | | | |
    |0| | | |0|0| | | |0|
    The task is to fill in the remaining cells with numbers from 1 to 86 such that:
    Each number from 1 to 86 is used exactly once.
    Each row, column, and diagonal has the same sum.
