Does using this adapter with an Ecobee thermostat yield less efficiency from Mitsubishi units, than the mhk2 thermostat, in terms of the variable speed inverter technology etc?
They are essentially the same module. The 445 works with all the new Mitsubishi equipment that they have added to their catalog. Mitsubishi is only making the 445s now.
Thanks man! And we use Mitsubishi with tekmar thermostat, and always we have to use a relay for reverse valve OB, do you have another way to works no using relays? Thanks
Please remind your audience that Mits creates a barrier to using 3rd party Tstats. In heating mode, Tstat can’t be turned below 63 degrees, and cooling above 81 degrees. Because of this the unreliable Kumo system is my only choice. Mountain environment, part time living means I would waste so much energy if I could only turn the heat to 63. Learned this the hard expensive way. Limitation is not disclosed anywhere.

This is a great point. The most functionality you can get is with Mitsubishi specific controllers
