Been 16 years since you last took a trip to Whispering Rock? Didn't have the gear needed to visit the Rhombus of Ruin? Have no fear! You can get caught up with the story ahead of Playing Psychonauts 2 with this letter Raz has composed for True Psychic Tales Magazine.

My favorite bit. He didn't even try to blend in. He jumped out of the woods like a deranged axe murderer and immediately had his dad called on him
I'm still shocked that one of Raz's strongest abilities was given to him by a deranged milk salesman.

To be fair, Raz's natural psychic talents are Clairvoyance and Telekinesis...

Also he's a deranged security guard, he only thought he was a milkman.

I didnt realize that Raz actually like, drew all this until getting Archetype, thought it was just a cutesy style intro. So proud of my baby boy he draws so good.
His art is so cute
I like to think True Psychic Tales decides to humor him with a fact check, effortlessly manages to verify it, and legit lets the story run.

I guess that if they recieve the letter before the news about Truman's kidnapping spread, it'd make it pretty hard not to believe him.
I love the fact that the book he gives is your old camp journal! It's a great Easter egg and also a nice touch that you are giving up the old game and ready for your new adventure!
Also the scene where he’s riding the pony as seen in the Mind Vault about Raz’ past
I've been following Richard Horvitz for so long, my brain keeps shifting between Dagget, Zim and Moxxie hearing him speak
Same, just watched the new episode of Helluva Boss and all I can hear is Moxxie instead.

Theres a neat Invader Zim easter egg tied into the final power you get.
I liked the "actually cool" sticky note for Sheegor; it's accurate, and also kind.
I like how Raz's drawing of himself in true psychic tales is his archetype
it’s so funny and cute that Raz was trying to be serious and explain everything that happened and then he just… had a mini dilemma over whether or not he and Lili were dating hkgjfjfjfhvv
I like to point out that Raz had left out “invisibility” from his story.
my guess would be because it doesn't reappear in 2?
Which is funny cause from what we know him being rank 101 is cannon and it is a needed power for Gloria's lvl
Don’t forget clairvoyance, confusion and his little shield bubble thing
and the shield ability too! as far as i know, these powers (along with confusion blasts) won’t be returning in the second game since the developers told that only 5 OG powers will return. weird ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The ability to go invisible is most useful when people don't know you can do it.

Mad love to Tim and to the dev team for making this 16 year long wait possible. I remember meeting Richard Horvitz at Florida SuperCon in like 2012/13 and I asked about the possibility of a sequel, he said he’d be super down….1 more day folks, I’m now 26.
When are they going to let us crowd fund a third game??
@@talatot1984 , Since Microsoft owns Double Fine now I don't think Money will ever be an issue for them. And since Psychonauts 2 is getting a lot of clamor I'm really hoping this gives Tim or Doublefine an idea to do either DLC for Psychonauts 2 or Eventually make Psychonauts 3

This art style is the frickin cutest holy heck
Love all the little nods to characters and elements from the first game, even if they won't all return! Like the confusion badge at 0:24 and the very quick glimpses of all the levels from the asylum half of the game.
So raz found out about camp whispering rock because of a mysterious stranger, well I hope we get to see this mysterious stranger in the sequel.

There is a reason the only Psychonaughts content i have been consuming was from double fine and a toilet.
Love how they include the information from the mental vaults in the brain tumbler level for people like me who were too stupid to find the vault that was literally right there where the player first spawns in

This game is backed by Microsoft, a huge company with deep coffers. This is not some underground grassroots success
No matter if I see Raz or Zim, Billy, Moxxie...anything else he ever voiced, I keep hearing Dagget because that's what I grew up with. Daggy will always be one of my favorite characters of all time.
I am so excited for this. Psychonauts is such an unbelievably well written and fun world and I cannot wait to jump right into a whole new installment.
Dang, you ever just forget how memorable Psychonauts music is? This reminded me of some great tracks in the series.

I like the frame in 3:25, it reminds me so much of how Sly Cooper games used to be. Sneaky yet powerful, it's gonna be a blast once I have enough money to play this game.

I first played through Psychonauts in 2009 and absolutely loved it. I then played through Rhombus of Ruin on its release in 2017 and couldn't believe I was returning to this world after 8 years. I'm so excited for P2, unlocking in just eight hours!

I'm not even past the second zone and this game has not only exceeded all my expectations but also manages to be worth the wait. It pulled a reverse Incredibles 2 and that needs to be appreciated.
It also already managed to help me irl with some mental introspection just like the first one did all those years ago.

Since the first days of beating Psychonauts as a young lad, I never would have dreamed of a day like this to happen. I always recall flipping through all the Video Game Books in the city and libraries to hear blips and mummers of this long lost gem of a game. Somewhere I always hoped it would happen as Double Fine always keep managing to continue through each and every game they kept making. And only DAYS before the full release of the sequel and I'm almost in tears at the fact I'm getting to see it all happen once again. I can't thank the game makers/actors/and even the fans with Double Fine for making this all happen. Its an old dream come true. *sniffs*
Only two more days... this is so exciting!! Everytime i think about it i can't stop smiling!! (Good thing we still need masks in public, or I'd get a lot of weird looks)

Man this intro is so nostalgic if bot adorable since the drawings here was very good. It even adapted the Memory Vault from Raz's Memory as to how he got to the Camp in the first place.
Even better, I love how the music is also remixed versions of the original music of the first game as well as it also references the VR Game The Rhombus of Ruin since that was originally a PSVR and was later ported?
Man, 2005 was a strange final year in which a couple of buried treasures was made and this and Oddworld Strangers Wrath was 2 of the ones that made me like the Xbox.
When I get an Xbox one or something like that, I would like to play this game! :)
Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin was made for Windows & PS4 VR
But if Xbox ever got their own VR Headset/ worked with 3rd party Headset makers I could see it being brought over

Waited years for this full sequel!! Everytime I see the familiar characters, and new ones, in their updated art concepts I get excited all over again. Besides the story, the art is my favorite part of the game
