- Back in September the fantastic Daði Freyr performed a Psychonauts-themed concert for Xbox (The stream seems to no longer be on the channel) and the release of Psychonauts 2, and it inspired me to draw up a little animatic based off of it and the events of the games. Hope you enjoy!

Sascha and Mia seeing memories of their stages in Raz's head as part of his baggage would be..._super_ uncomfortable
I dunno, Mia's dance party is a challenge to 100%, and is bad enough completionism wise before the final room
Milla definently due to the orphanage easter egg for Sasha maybe not depends if they saw Raz going through the memory vaults
@@33-DAI think it's more of the feeling of being overwhelmed in Sasha's stage because I know I was freaking the fuck out a bit not knowing where to go and they just wouldn't stop coming
I *REALLY* hope the Psychonauts have good psychiatric care. After what Raz went through (in a relatively short period of time and at age 10), he's gonna need it...
In less than a week Rasputin had to fix about 20 people's mental health had to face his own parental trauma had to add to his perennial trauma, because of Maligula and save the grand head of the organization he works for

- Realized, that his real grandma is dead from the hands of Maligula
- Realized, that Nona is a Maligula (partly)
- Realized, that all his parents problems with psychics, curse of water and Maligula - is a Ford Cruller`s work
- Realized, that the Great Six - are a bunch of hippies and can`t do anithing against the "Maligula" kind of problems
- Realized, that Psychonauts as organization is useless and just can`t handle the Maligula kind of problems without some intern kids help

The only thing is that Raz is typically surprisingly open about his emotional baggage, he basically told Ford everything he thought his farther thought of him…
He also to Elton about his family’s supposed water curse…
I find it incredibly hard to believe that he wouldn’t get help from someone if it became to much for him.
But what do I know?

@@joliem281 definitely, the brain tumbler was really neat in the first game to find out some of Raz's backstory, but I think it'd be even cooler to see his mind again, after three games of playing as Raz.
I think it'd be cool to have someone else help him deal with his troubles for once, like in the animatic? I hope the reaction to psychonauts 2 has warranted a sequel, this game series deserves a solid trilogy
His inner world would now be so interesting considering the things he's seen and mindscapes he's been in.
Right!! I’d love to even just have a Psychonauts 2 DLC where you get to go into Raz’s brain for a little mission haha

An animated series might not be realistic with the amount of money the creators are working with, but I would absolutely adore a short comic series. Either way, I NEED more Psychonauts media beyond just the games. This world, characters and art style are just so interesting! It's amazing to me that the possibility of more than just the one game back in 2005 is even on the table let alone actually happening! I'm so excited!

Really lovely work. Love the shot of Raz rotating through the memory of all the different mental worlds. As well as the whole image of Sasha and Milla helping Raz sort through the growing pile of baggage he's accumulated after all these ventures.

I need a meme where Raz pronouce "Emotional Damage"
People keep trying to make Raz into a Steven Universe Future Style Tragic Protagonist but, you know, working in an organization almost entirely composed of therapists/mind readers would probably nip that problem in the bud real quick and Raz will grow to be... somewhat well adjusted, at the very least.
well... we got to consider none of them really helped the psychic 6(7) and before you say anything we got to remember 1 of them were literally one building infront of the motherlobe
hell none of them seem to try to help ford get his shit back together
also Otto should had given a check on that brain that was left behind to make sure it was a dead brain
so it really iffy on the psychonauts helping their own at times
I mean, they're all psychic but I don't think any of them are actual therapists
Still though, he literally works for an organization that specifically has the job of going into other people's heads and beating the shit out of their problems. So he'll definitely be fine
Genuine question, would they really help Raz if the Psychic Seven weren't ever helped? I don't mean to be rude by asking this haha

Apparently I had a lot of thoughts on this question, so if you don't feel like reading an essay, TL;DR: Yes I think the Psychonauts would help Raz, specifically Sasha and Milla would.
I think, given the downright parental attitude Sasha Nein and Milla Vodello have toward Raz, they would absolutely help him with any problems he had, if he opened up to them. We can see that Sasha views Raz as a younger version of himself, and really everything he does toward raz reflects that. He trains the boy, lets Raz continue using his Psi-portal (I refuse to believe Sasha hasn't noticed that Raz keeps using it into Psychonauts 2), lets Raz pop around his mind looking at his deepest hidden thoughts even when his mind is being used as a training ground (His mind is arguably the most exposed to us of all the consenting adults of Psychonauts 1, as he doesn't have any hidden rooms like Milla or cobwebs sealing off vaults like Oleander), and the first thing he teaches Raz is Psi-blasting, which even Raz initially mistakes for therapy. I'm pretty sure Raz could come to Sasha for anything and he would get support, even if it involved an "I'm not mad, just disappointed" lecture like he gave in the second game (Which I think doubly supports Sasha's parental nature toward Raz).
And just as a sidenote because I love how he's written, I really think Sasha's lecture toward Raz is under-appreciated. He says Hollis wasn't hard enough on Raz, but does absolutely nothing to make it harder. He gives a lecture on responsibility, and then he gives Raz smelling salts and says "Use these if you're ever tempted to overreach your boundaries", effectively letting Raz decide how responsible he's really going to be. He *knows* he can trust Raz to learn from his mistakes and grow, because he's already seen Raz in the field doing his best to act for the greater good.
If anything, Sasha's flaw is forgetting that Raz is ten years old, which for some reason all of the psychonauts seem to forget. Like dang bro this boy is barely responsible enough for a minecraft world and y'all wanna let him into your brains to tool around? The 80s really were different huh. (The series apparently takes place in 1982)
Plus tax is rather smart, not a bumbling goofy kid that never had parents or grew up in a normal life.

yeah while we did see a piece of it in the original game with the meat circus i do feel like if it appeared again it their would be pieces or remnants of the other worlds in all one weird circus (fun house). with each room representing a mental world he has been to, and it would all starting pretty "normal" just a like a mirror, or duplicate of the area, but at the end of each room their would be an emotional baggage with a boss in like a weird jumble of the area it represents.
I think it would be focused around 3 points. The caravan, the motherlobe. And finally whispering rock.
Considering the 3 important things happened in his life happened in those locations.
(Caravan = family), (motherlobe = dream come true), (whispering rock = first mission and well love)
Raz would have a lot of baggage
