10 years later and I'm watching again !!! Too much Gems here.
i love joe buissink! he has such wonderful energy that i can't help but smile every time i see his videos
this video is 36.55 long, i learnt more about posing a subject in the first 8 minutes than i have ever learnt in watching hours and hours of videos!!
big thanks Joe, you make so much sense!
Thank you so much Joe❤️❤️❤️
You truly said that if you photograph something it's more about who you are,how you see the moment...and only a kind person like you can go for people's emotions....you live for emotions...you are such a great human being....you give undying memories to people, you deserve the whole world's happiness...
Oh my gosh I was crying at the end of this video. Thank you so much !! I been ask to shoot weddings for friends and I always say no because I hate the pressure. but I love taking pictures at wedding because I do feel the moment and it makes me feel good and I do get emotional when I take that special shot that no one else see with there eye. Did not even think about hiring someone else so I can be in the back ground shooting pictures that mean something to ME ! and make me feel good and inreturn make other people hopefully feel what I feel. Thank you so Much!!
So cool to look back at this! I was here at this event as one of the students! Now I am shooting a wedding and will post a VLOG about it on my channel this weekend! (08/23/2016) I show up @28:00
Photo-Me-Ike I see you dude!
Hi Photo-me-Ike, I have seen your TH-cam videos 2 days back and I am seeing this video now. I am pretty much amazed when you showed up as dad ! I know it’s you but came to comment section to check you out and Boom (as you say) you are here ! You are really a great guy with good knowledge in photography lighting and posing. I love the tutor and he is just awesome! You learnt from a genius and you became one now! Happy for you!
I just watched this entire 36 minute video. I want to sincerely thank you for sharing so many key concepts. I agree 100% that if the couple is really feeling the moment, the photos always come out with genuine emotion. Thank you very much!
I have my first wedding shoot this weekend and love this video!
This guy's videos are AMAZING. I'm shooting my first wedding later this year and I'm insanely nervous but man, his videos are helping. I just watched the almost two hour back to basics of his and it went by like it was 20 minutes. Amazing speaker and artist.
This was the exact type of information I was looking for. I had the problem of "Breaking the ice" and having awkwardness while trying to shoot. These ideas are fantastic. This will really help me especially since I have a wedding to shoot in 3 days. THANK YOU!!!
You're brilliant at getting people to be comfortable! That is exactly how I try to shoot, like you, I am also very passionate about photography! Thanks!!
Love it! So many tips. Thank you!
You did great Joe..well done.
Thank You very much Joe..very inspiring.
Que clase tan fabulosa! thanks for your passion!
Joe, thank you for such a wonderfully insightful video, your personal style is inspirational
This is amazing! Fantastic advice which applies to much more than just weddings. Also... Just to add a little tip of my own: give the groom a random object and then get him to show it to the bride. The shots you'll get will be fantastic.

I have learned more in this 36 minutes than any other tutorial about photo weddings. Great work, Joe, and thanks a lot for this masterclass.
Asking them questions then taking the photo, what a stellar idea.
This guy has mean skills.
I love Joe's stuff. Thanks again Joe :)
He's just amazing.
I have learned more in 30 minutes about this subject than I have in a day. This video was very educational and inspirational. Thank You for this tutorial.
This was just awesome Joe. Thank you
Sitting here, Looking out over the Donegal hills on a wet and windy day, i really enjoyed that, Thank You.

Hi Mr. Joe It's great teaching.. About wedding photography and how to approach clients it's really useful to me... Thank you so much for your all photography tips...... 😇😝😁
His approach and methods/tactics take the "scare" out of being a first time wedding photographer. Thanks!

I like this guy, especially what he said about photography and one's soul in the other video
Awesome...9:35-It does not need to take long to capture a moment but to shoot where you can capture how they really feel to each from their heart and it comes naturally.

Great Ideas!
"wedding shoots are not photoshoots". I love this remark !
Great, clever, true, deep...
I'm a wedding photographer in France - I think we haven't got the same clients :) -
and I've learnt a lot from your advices, it is what I tried to do (to see my clients several times, not to say them "do that or this" but How are you ? but I really recognized you've helped me. Thank you so much and lots of nice weddings in France and Europe Italy is nice, but Croatie too, and all those countries that haven't change)
brilliant
This is a nice wedding photography video.
OMG... why did I never heard something about him? He's a Genius!
That's great
joe is best
I LIKE TO SEE MORE OF THIS
I shadowed a wedding and I was making the couple laugh, the primary photographer however though it was a bit weird.... this gives me reassurance even though I am a new-B I still have the right idea :) Thank you Joe!
ummz he state in the video he does both its a mixed bag... personally i have to thank joe because being hands of is hard and scary, but in the end you learn to see, 7 years since i met joe i am so glad i did it this way
this guy really nice !
Excellent :)
Wow Mr Joe is so good photographer and even better person
+Damian Janice .that's right ..
Thnx man and have a nice weekend
you too..One Love
i did a seminar with joe and yervant, they did this joke and yervant said i use M for master, frankly i have seen too many good shooter on P etc if you know how to use it correctly its great, basically its learning to use the reflective metering in your camera but instead of reading it and closing or opening up you just use the exposure comp, i still prefer M but man joes working is amazing so.... ps thanks for posting this needed a refresher
Thank you
jz
man sir wheres your dvd? your a god of photography forget pro... very educating video worth all 36:55 of it
sometimes Aperture priority will fail you, especially if you are putting it on f/4, which sometimes always likes to screw with my d600 :P, just because it has no shutter minimum. Another thing is the camera will become confused with the distance+light+shutter+aperture algorithm
14:24..good shot!
How do I get started in Wedding Photography and how do I get experience in wedding photography? I bought a Canon EOS 70D with 18-135mm lens kit for Christmas. I've been working for my church, I've been shooting portraits at church. How do I start getting paid for the photos I take? Please, any help you give me would be awesome!
how much post processing do you do?
What gear would you suggest for me? Especially, just starting out in Wedding photography? Which glasses, bags, gear for weddings? Please, tell me how to afford the Canon Lens with a very fast f/2.8 aperature rate? Thanks in advance!!!
well, chris...do some research of your own. why do people have to be told everything. use you brain and your fingers on the key board. you afford lenses and cameras by getting a job and saving your money.
Did I hear it right? Is Joe shooting in speed priority mode?
nices
great video... but...
"clasp your hands behind your back"
"his hands are naturally clasped behind his back, I didn't tell him to do that!"
Anyway, fantastic video with great advice
36:54 worth fot me (y)
holy shit this guy is a genius... psychology 101 :)
I have a question, is this photo session he is demosntrating, pre ceremony in the church or is it at the reception? Because I would think if its at reception he has allready seen the dress right? Or does she change dress between ceremony and reception? Sorry for seeming stupid but this is in America I live in NOrway and allso I have NEVER been in a wedding before :P
yudontsay it is a "first look"...so it is before the ceremony
Wondering what focusing technique Joe uses...he obviously doesn't use focus re-compose...and he always shoots continuous mode...I'm always worried about getting sharp focus on portrait shots
He loves to shoot almost wide open all the time so not that much is sharp. He always said getting the shot is more important.
Hey, are you familiar with "photo SFX art" (just google it)? On their website you can watch a great free video demonstrating the right way to create brilliant photos. It made it easier for Joe to take pictures which leave you with a jaw-dropping-effect whenever you look at them. It may help you out as well...
Это пример настоящего проф фотографа, ему все равно на что снимать,ведь снимает он,а не фотоаппарат!!!
@photomeike is that you!?
the people couple looked kind of mad like "take the photo's already!" lol but seriously, nice job you did really good and you are helping me with my future of being a photographer so thank you for that
the couple*
29:54 "did he tell You that?"
Make memories by using memories.
what about if they don't know each other 😭😢 and wants me to tell them what should do
You right, sir. IT 'S NOT THE SAME.
It's like watching Ansel Adams showing you how to shoot a landscape...
@24:25, "...him and me."
I thought Joe was a nikon guy, loved his work tho
Dude is intense
he is good
15:32 "my camera is busy" .. guess he should had stayed at Nikon D3s :-)
This is not applicable to all clients. There are clients who wants a million poses for their social media
Program mode? And you ask for money from people? :-/
meh
Ten seconds into the video.... "I'm in P mode..."
Nope.
people care about the pics, not what mode was your camera in
He is so creepy! And I honestly have no idea why he is so popular. I see nothing special in his pictures at all... Just saying. There are much better and interesting wedding photographers out there.
asian girl and white guy again ...
Dave swain and a black father :-)
